Zee has always been an outsider in his backwater town, too smart for his own good, too weak to be a warrior, and tragically lacking the magical “birthright” that makes others special. What starts as a get-rich-quick scheme quickly spirals into something much darker (and much more life-threatening). A hidden mine, an ancient evil, and a creeping horde of undead stand between them and survival. As adventure and nightmare blur together, Zee and his friends realize that heroes aren’t born. They are forged in blood, fear, and questionable decisions made on an empty stomach.
