If someone had said to me about four years ago I would start to read memoirs, biographies and the like I would have not been so sure but I am so glad I stepped into this genre. Even more so now that I have read A Woman of Fortitude. I was kindly sent a copy by the author, Rosemary Laird, and I am so thankful. This was such a joy to read, even the heartbreaking parts. I originally found Laird’s work with their fabulous Covid Chronicles in Rhyme which was such a fun and yet poignant look at the pandemic. Needless to say I expected to enjoy this but not as much as I did.
Rosemary Laird has a knack for writing in such a way that you feel like you are being told a story by a good friend over coffee (or tea). There is so much emotion and Laird really does bear all, the highs and lows, and you cannot help but get invested. I have to say that I could not put this one down and I found it completely inspirational as well. Laird shows that if you continue to strive you can overcome anything life my throw your way. That you sometimes have to take the lows to enjoy the highs and how anyone can strive to be a woman, or person, of fortitude.
As always thank you to Rosemary Laird for the copy to review. My review is always honest, truthful and freely given.
What a book and what a life! so wonderfully told. I have a deep admiration for the things Rosemary has achieved even when she had to deal with complicated relationship issues. She persevered and found more happiness for herself. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this
A beautiful book about life and all its experiences and how a woman rises above every challenge with a smile. You can learn a lot from Rosemary who’s a brilliant wholesome person through and through. I never read autobiography’s but Rosemarys brilliant personality and aura has drawn me to this one
