When two of your siblings are FBI agents, you learn that danger is everywhere. I’ve heard enough stories to know there are creeps out there and you should never offer your name to strangers, so forgive me if I give a fake name and backstory to random men who hit on me when I’m out with friends. It’s not like I’m ever gonna see them again and it really is safer this way.
Besides, I'm a theater major, acting is my life and this is great improv practice.
Two birds, one stone.
That’s been my mantra for the past few years and it’s served me well, but when the devastatingly handsome man from the restaurant in D.C. shows up at my friend’s New Years Eve party in Las Vegas, I’m suddenly wishing I’d given him my real name because things are about to get uncomfortable.
I've never been so awestruck by a woman as I was the first time I saw Liz up on stage singing a solo and blowing the audience away. I was speechless. Her voice is the purest, most beautiful thing I've ever heard, and as I get to know her I realize her looks and personality are no different. She's spectacular inside and out and after one evening with her I'm so ready to date her it's laughable.
I can't date her though, because she lives in Iowa and I'm moving to Las Vegas in just a few days. Those two areas aren't exactly close together.
I'm only a little confused when I show up at a New Year's Eve party in Las Vegas and see Liz there as well. I knew she was lying about her hobbies when we first met (it was so funny), but did she also lie about where she lived as well? I guess I can't fault her for that, she didn't know me the first time I introduced myself, and as a newly trained FBI agent, I can understand her caution. There are some really bad people out there.
Ignoring her deception, I decide I should jump on this stroke of luck and ask her out. After all, we live in the same city now, and I was smitten with her from the moment I saw her up on stage at that concert in D.C. Maybe this is a sign that we're meant to be together.
Whatever It Takes is a dual POV sweet romantic comedy with plenty of laughs, some swoon-worthy moments, and no explicit scenes or language. You can laugh, cry, and fall in love with these characters without worrying that you may have to put the book down before finishing it.
Hey! I'm Stephanie. I love writing funny, sweet, and aww-worthy romance books. I'm a firm believer that there's nothing a little love or laughter can't fix. When I'm not writing, I'm mom-ing hard core or sleeping. While mom-ing, I like to make sourdough, spend time outside, and teach my kids how to be independent, happy little humans--a huge work in progress but we're getting there.
