INNOCENT Nicki, now disillusioned, realizes that she is but a tiny cog in a big machine, and she begins to feel like she’s going to be swallowed up. As she opens her eyes to all that’s around her, her life begins to fall apart. She loses her car, her apartment, and almost loses her job, all to circumstances beyond her control, and the bad guys have nothing to do with it. But, through adversity, Nicki learns what she’s made of. She begins to dig deep into the underbelly of Winchester, and she finds that the drug trade isn’t just for the junkies.
Nicki is angry. Now that she’s seen what the people in power will do to keep their control, she knows she has to play it safe. She’s threatened to topple their thrones and they’re feeling nervous. But she’s also feeling guilty about the murder of a prostitute whom she thinks she was responsible for, so she makes it her mission to help all the women of the night working in Winchester. And she does it the only way she knows how—by reporting what she’s learned. And with Sean behind her, she knows she can do anything she’s set her mind to.
Nicki Sosebee is a strong woman who's not afraid to go after what she wants, whether it's a man or a story. She's tough and her mouth shows it. She's a free spirit and feels no need to apologize for who she is or what she believes in.

As always Nicki gets caught up in her stories. Her love life is upside down ... She cannot figure out who to settle down with. Easy reads.

I just have to say that Jade C. Jamison is most definitely in my top 5 list of all-time favorite authors. Her writing pulls me in and grabs at every emotion. I swear I've gone back and forth between being on Team Sean to Team Jesse more times that I can count. Sean has been her best friend forever and she has wanted him for almost as long. Jesse has longed for Nicki almost as long as she has held a torch for Sean. Nicki's love for Sean is what's preventing her from fully giving in and falling as deeply for Jesse as he has for her. My heart broke, it soared, it was conflicted, it was pained, and most of all it was full of love. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions. One that I'm glad I took and look forward to taking the ride again and again. This series is full of interesting story lines, amazing characters, and some hot, burning up the sheets, panty wetting sex! I highly, highly recommend this series and everything else Jade has written! :)

Another WOW for Jade's Nicki Sosebee!
Nicki is a pizzeria waitress part-time but a smart young woman as a part-time Reporter for the Tribune. Of course her reporting gets her into some tight squeezes with some bad people! Now she is investigating the underworld of meth and prostitution and is shocked to discover the prevalence of both in Winchester! And Nicki's love life? Prevalent in Winchester! She has broken up with Jesse but, after 10 years of pining for Sean, is his gal!! Both have professed their love for one another but is Sean getting a bit too obsessive? Book 9 is out and I am about to start it!
