Book 1: Legacy of Secrets Book 2: Legacy of Redemption
Such an excellent addition to this series. As much as Sylvia wants to leave Fairfield and start afresh, she can't because she's got a stalker, is being targeted, and is facing setbacks. Sylvia's backstory is heart wrenching and complicated with family dynamics. Things start off a bit rocky between Sylvia and Ryan because of their past until she broke his heart. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ryan and Sylvia and the character arc in Sylvia. The characters were well-written, and the story captivated me. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and options are my own.
Legacy of Redemption, the second title in the Fairfield First Responder series, is full of danger, regret, and rebuilding a relationship that will require a lot of trust on both sides before this couple can find anything close to a happy ending. Sylvia is desperate to leave home and all the memories contained there. With her life falling to pieces around her and a very real danger following her every move, she’s been blocked from fleeing, and fate will have the final ironic say when the one man who can protect and help her now… is the man whose heart she carelessly broke years ago.
Ryan should have learned his lesson years ago. Nothing good is going to come from running into the one woman who owned his heart back then, and still does to this day, despite their past. He may not have forgiven Sylvia for the cruel way she broke him years ago, but forgetting she ever existed is also not a possibility. And how is he supposed to turn his back on her when it’s apparent that she’s in immediate danger and needs his help? The simple truth is, he cannot turn away, even though his head says leave her to her family and their consequences… his heart says, protect her at all costs.
Sylvia and Ryan’s story is intense on so many levels and filled with danger on every front. Their romance is well-written, so emotional, full of heartache and, yes, redemption in so many ways. It’s not easy to trust once you’ve been shattered by the one who matters most, yet watching this couple rebuild not only their love but the trust needed to keep that love alive was an emotional journey. If this sounds like your kind of Romantic Suspense adventure, then you’ll love Legacy of Redemption by Kenna Scott.

Legacy of Redemption is a tense, emotionally charged story that ultimately delivers an uplifting and satisfying read.
Socialite Sylvia Harrington can’t wait to leave her hometown—and her past—behind. Her plans are abruptly derailed when her father’s cartel associates begin systematically tearing her life apart. With nowhere else to turn, Sylvia is forced to fight back. Her struggle leads her to seek help from a former boyfriend she brutally rejected years ago, hoping he can forgive her and stand by her when she needs it most.
The story is filled with suspense, danger, and duplicity, keeping the tension high throughout. Beneath the action, however, is a powerful emotional core. Two wounded people slowly learn to trust one another, lean on each other, and redefine what “family” truly means. Despite the darkness of the circumstances, the story ultimately feels hopeful and redemptive.
This is book two in a series, and while it can be read on its own, reading the first book would add additional depth to the characters and their relationships. A compelling blend of suspense, emotion, and redemption that makes this series well worth continuing.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving this honest, personal, and unbiased review.
I found myself completely drawn into this book—emotionally raw, tension-filled, yet ultimately uplifting. Sylvia’s journey from a fractured past to standing tall in the face of a very real threat felt authentic and gripping, and Ryan’s steadfast, wounded strength anchored her in a way that made their connection believable—not just in the heat of crisis but in the quiet moments where trust had to be rebuilt. What really resonated with me was how the suspense and danger didn’t overshadow the heart of the story: two people learning to lean on each other, redefine what “family” means, and discover that redemption isn’t about forgetting the past but using it to fuel a stronger future.
An engaging and exciting romantic suspense. Lots of family involvement, both good and bad. Many murders and fires keep one turning the pages. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
