50 Articles The Media Wouldn't Publish

Rate this book
The Writings of a Political Prisoner, Rebel, and Climate Truth-Teller

For six years, Roger Hallam has written relentless, unfiltered analyses of the climate crisis, civil resistance, and the collapse of our political systems. These are the articles corporate media refused to publish—because they expose the lies of governments, the failures of politics, and the raw truth about what it takes to win.

Collected for the first time, 50 Articles The Media Wouldn’t Publish is a firebrand manifesto for those who refuse to look away. From the founding of Extinction Rebellion to the imprisonment of civil resistors, Roger lays out the case for radical nonviolent revolution with the clarity and urgency that have made him one of the most controversial voices in modern activism.

Whether you're an organizer, a concerned citizen, or simply searching for answers in an age of ecological and political breakdown, this book will challenge you, move you, and demand that you act.

Read it now—before it’s too late.

Reviews of Roger's Previous Book, Common Sense for the 21st Century

“ wise, profound and persuasive. If you want to understand Extinction Rebellion, or how to change the world, read it.”
– George Monbiot, columnist at The Guardian, author and activist.

“This is not just an argument, it is an instruction manual for ripping through the corruption and complacency that will destroy our planet.”
– Paul Mason, author of Clear, Bright A Radical Defense of the Human Being

“[Roger] provides a blueprint for people who are sick and tired of the futility of civil discourse in combating the climate catastrophe. We hope this film inspires people to embrace radical tactics and actions that bring about real change. Our very existence depends on it.”
– Rooney Mara & Joaquin Phoenix

“Is Common Sense for the 21st Century the best hope we’ve got to prevent human extinction? Yes, I think it is.”
– Dr Alexandra Jellicoe, environmental engineer and scientist, Monkey Wrench

“[Roger] has a lot of integrity and charisma,”
The New Yorker

“Hallam… is widely seen as the driving force behind [Extinction Rebellion’s] tactics, [and] recommends that activists emulate past movements like the United States civil rights movement and the Yellow Vests in France.”
The New York Times

Great book. Very interesting and also good value. I would recommend it to all my friends and family. 4/5. (No one gets 5 because 5 is the hypothetical "perfect book" and no such book exists)

I am an autistic elder, & Roger Hallam articulates the words i would like to say, (most of our time.) Hallam has helped to forge a global Nonviolent Community devoted to Telling The Truth amidst an era of filthy adulterated media and corporate corruption which we call governments. Which is in fact a flat and dying economy of Truth and Justice in a system of 'Managed decline'. So in 2019 I heard his RH talk, I found where I fit, and I've been actively listening and actioning since. "We're on the right track baby, we were born this way." So it is refreshing and life-affirming to read the words of integrity, courage, care and the experimental, involved with the human transformation and survival. All Roger's words are really a celebration of pure human beauty, intelligence, innocence, connection and the joy which IS within us all, because without knowing that, there would be no reason for his words or our actions. Thank goodness there are a very few people who, in these pivotal moments can stand with honour, and SAY what needs to be said to represent the many who DO what needs to be done to literally save future life on Earth. Roger Hallam and his words, are a great example of Humanity, with all it's foibles, our vulnerabilities, our fragility, but most of all our need to be accountable for our actions.

★★★★★ A Vital Call to Action

Roger’s blog book is an unflinching, urgent manifesto for our times. Drawing from years of frontline activism, Hallam weaves together his blog posts into a compelling narrative that exposes the brutal reality of climate collapse while offering a clear-eyed strategy for mass civil resistance.

What makes this book so powerful is its raw honesty—Hallam doesn’t sugarcoat the scale of the crisis or the sacrifices required to confront it. Yet, rather than leaving the reader in despair, he provides a roadmap for action, grounded in historical precedent and psychological insight. His writing is direct, often provocative, but always rooted in the unshakable moral logic that survival demands rebellion.

Whether you're a seasoned activist or someone just waking up to the climate emergency, this collection is essential reading. It challenges, inspires, and, most importantly, demands that we take responsibility for the future. A must-read for anyone serious about change.

If you give a f**k about our planet and believe a better beautiful world is possible then buy this book. Once you have read it, find the others, share it with them and then get on with showing all the people around you what that better world looks like. In the words of the wonderful Manda Scott: "we have the power of gods to destroy our home, but we also have the chance to become something we cannot yet imagine, and by doing so, to transform the nature of ourselves – and all humanity."
