"If they're someone you like spending time with...that's what a friend to me."
I love this series so much! 😭😭😭😭
What a very wonderful volume! I loved seeing Hotrau share her feelings and being the one to "initiate." You go, girl!! However my favorite chapter might have been when Hananoi makes his "first friend." That double-page spread of him and his friend laughing together was so touching! 😭😭😭😭 Beautiful beautiful developments when it comes to relationships AND friendships!
And speaking of friendships, seeing Satomura again and her getting a whole chapter to shine was wonderful! I truly hope for happy and wonderful things for her, especially with Yao!
That last chapter stirred some nostalgia(?) for the first volume and how far these two have come together. I really really loved it, though THAT CLIFFHANGER!!!! AHHHHH! I NEED the next volume because I never imagined that Hotaru would say what she did!!! Eeeepp!
Still love this series so much and would continue to highly recommend it!!
Lovingly containing a lot of nuances and subtle issues of relationships either friendship or a couple relationship.
This series is one of the best shōjo manga for sure! I’ve been following it for two years now. It’s cute and mellow , but also heart fluttering. There’re lots of scenes that make me feel sympathize with all characters. Each of them has their own concerns which are relatable. I just felt tons of heart skipping a beat while reading it.
. Satomura-san’s chapter is one of them. I wanted to cheer her on. I don’t want to see anyone holding back their feelings, however, it’s better this way. At least, in the future, I hope the author would give her a proper seen moment and make her wish comes true. I wanted to give her hugs. it is best to let this relationship stay secure because of the age gap, not that it’s that much but Yao-kun is still a minor😆 this is one of the reasons why I love this series so much. Megumi-sensei is careful of her crafting I really appreciate that.
Ahhh, this was another fantastic addition to the series! I’m usually not a big fan of entire chapters dedicated to side characters, as they often feel like filler and can take attention away from the main story. However, this volume handled it beautifully. Perhaps because these side characters have been seamlessly integrated into the story from the start, their presence has always played a significant role in shaping the main characters. Getting to see their inner thoughts and emotions added a much-welcomed depth to both them and the overall narrative.
I especially loved watching Hananoi's first true friendship with Keigo-kun develop further. Aside from the old man and Hotaru, this is the first time we've seen him truly recognize and accept someone as a friend, and it was so heartwarming. Seeing him open up, realize how much others care for him, and allow himself to be supported was incredibly touching. It gives his deeply caring nature an outlet beyond just Hotaru, which makes his growth feel even more meaningful.
Satomi-san and Yao-kun’s chapter was another highlight for me. Aside from the age gap—which isn't a huge deal, but is understandable given that she’s in university while he’s still in high school—I loved how their dynamic was explored. They would make such a sweet couple, but what stood out the most was the emphasis on the value of friendship and the real struggle of wondering whether pursuing something more might put that precious bond at risk. I truly hope these two get more chapters so their story can unfold in a satisfying way.
And, of course, all the Hananoi and Hotaru moments were just so sweet! I love them both so much and can’t wait for more. This volume was a perfect balance of character development, romance, and emotional depth, making it one of my favorites in the series so far.
This volume was the cutest!! Hotaru and Hananoi are back together and are trying to go back to how they were before, but it’s a bit harder than it looks. After talking, they realized everything was okay again and they started enjoying the things they did before. It was awesome seeing Hananoi actually being friends with Keigo, because they get each other and Keigo is a really nice guy, it was great seeing them play basketball together. I’m so happy that Hananoi and Hotaru are back together, they are happier when they’re with each other. Finally, it’s Hotaru’s birthday again and Hananoi and Hotaru are spending the day together at Hananoi’s house, cooking, decorating the Christmas tree and eating Dango, then they go to Hotaru’s sister’s skating performance and at the end we see Hotaru telling Hananoi that she wants to spend the night at his house?? What’s going to happen next?!

Hanananoi seems to have reverted to their early days of dating where he thinks he isn't allowed to touch Hotaru after their big fight, which Hotaru is not having. Fortunately once she actually talks to him about it, they're able to break the ice and start going back to normal. Meanwhile it seems Yao is determined to disappear from Hotaru's life once again, which leaves Satomi in a bit of her bind given her newly realized feelings. Hotaru is learning how to ask for what she wants and Hanananoi seems rather pleased with their relationship being back on track, even decorating together for Christmas and going to see her little sister's ice show with the rest of the family before asking to stay with him for the night.

Another good read, it was so nice to have Hananoi to get some changes by himself without Hotaru. I love the male making friends with other males since it's so lighthearted and sweet. I also feel for Hananoi when it comes to feeling self conscious about himself as well (despite being g super attractive), also the bit where his picture was posted online only to have Hotarus friend to delete it because of alot of DMS about him was hilarious. Also we finally get a chapter of one of the side characters which is a nice change as well.
El final?? Van a dar otro paso más? Necesito respuestas!!
This book has helped heal my heart just a little after the trauma it has suffered from Jujutsu Kaisen and all the crazy that blew up today.
I A D O R E this series, and the characters. All of them. Every single one. The growth that all of these characters have gone through is absolutely amazing. I love how Hotaru and Hannanoi listen to each other and communicate with each other.
Okay, I'm going to go cry about it now. Happy tears of course.
The relationship that Hotaru and Hananoi have with one another is truly incredible. No matter what difficulties they have encountered during the time they have been dating, they have overcome them and helped each other change for the better. I adored the nervousness that Hananoi had with Kurata at their hangout as friends. It was too sweet. And it looks like the Hotaru and Hananoi relationship is going to the next level with how it ended this volume. Happy for the both of them.
💞*Swoon*💞 - this volume included tons of great content, from rekindling romances, forming new friendships (and love?), along with experiencing new firsts! I was so giddy by the time I was finished with it and now I have to wait who knows how long for the next volume to be ready to check out through the library 😩⏳📚🪪
So...

Might be my favorite volume so far. Romantic, thoughtful, humorous, and so much character development. Especially for our male lead, I loved seeing him relax and acting like a silly teenager.
The end did have me gagged. Need the next volume asap.
If you know you are gonna go on a date with someone on a special day, don’t make something stinky! Garlic, really!? Anyway, when’s the next volume coming out? I want to read it so bad!
Cap 46 - 49.
