It’s clear that the author spent a ton of time researching many different players, many of which could not have been easy to research. The book is loaded with facts and information from stories that need to be told but often have not. Many of the stories are sad and unfortunate, but it’s great that someone has brought them to light. Though you could read this cover to cover, I could definitely see fans wanting to refer back to this afterwards and perhaps be inspired to conduct even further research of some of the players on their own.
One outstanding read! The history, the details, bring light to an era of a tragic sport just because of a players skin color. Chris Jensen put together a masterpiece.
