When big-city girl Audrey wakes up on the cold, front porch of a working ranch, she’s got lots of questions. But before she can answer them, she’s greeted by three handsome brothers — cowboys — and their Ma, complete with a warm feast and a welcoming smile.
Following the doctor’s orders to stay put for a few days, Audrey makes herself useful around the ranch; baling hay and hunting for coyotes. But the cowboys, one handsome one in particular, want to get to the bottom of her story.
Can she trust these people she just met? And what she’s about to reveal is a dark past she’s trying to escape. Will the ranch be the future she’s looking for, or can she turn back to her flashy, city-sicker lifestyle?
I enjoyed this book. It started off with a bit of a mystery as an unknown woman, Audrey woke up on the Coulter ranch. The Coulter's found her and opened their home to her. Gage the oldest son was suspicious about her but called the doctor to make sure she was not hurt when he found out that her car had gone into a ditch.
Audrey had a rough past and she was nervous about being found. She was running and yet she felt comfortable at the ranch. I like the characters in this book and was happy to see there is a follow up book about the family. This is the second Rachel Hanna book I have read and I do enjoy her work. I will be pocking up the next book in this series.
I have read other books by Rachel Hanna, I enjoyed them more than this one. The story was good, I just felt like it lacked substance. There were also quite a few spelling errors, a lot was missed in editing.
The story was really good but the dialogue with the hick/hillbilly/1800's accent was borderline offensive to those of us who live in Wyoming. We do not talk like that at all. If you can get past the accent/dialogue you'll enjoy it more.
This is a cute story about finding love when you least expect . Audrey is running away from her past. Gage's family find her on their porch after an accident. They have their ups and downs but things work out when they want them. They seem so perfect together. Love these books about ranch living.
This was a short read. I really enjoyed the story and will definitely continue reading your books. I loved the way I felt reading it. If made me feel like,I was right there riding the ranch. Very well done. Thank you so much.
Very short read. What could have been a much longer story condensed into a few short days. Dialogue very immature for one who was supposedly a college educated ranch owner.
Audrey wrecked her car in a ditch and waked to a ranch and feel asleep on the couch on the front porch. It was late in the night and didn't want to wake anyone up. The three brothers are checking her out when Ma comes out and has them bring her in so they can send off for the doctor.
He says she needs to stay put for a few days as she is dizzy. She can't bring herself to tell the family the whole truth and helps out around the ranch. The guys are amazed she can ride and shoot with the best of them. Her uncle taught her well on his ranch. Jace doesn't trust her much and is leery. Riley is all about women and enjoys here being around. Gage the oldest brother enjoys here around but guards his heart as he has been hurt before. The two become close as the days go by and Audrey is wanting to tell the truth about what is going on her life.
Can Gage take what she has to say?
The story was great and I wanted the pages to keep turning and turning. The characters were written very well and the whole story was great.
This book has numerous errors, as in "he charmed at the bear" instead of charged at the bear, for the most part letters were just flip flopped or an extra comma or space in the word added.
SPOILER ALERT!!
And seriously, they are in bed after a couple of days, if that long! And Gage is upset that Audrey didn't tell him the truth about her past....you just met!! Most people don't pour their souls out telling a stranger, yes that's what these people are, strangers!, about their lives. And the mention of a certain kind of picture and Gage's comment that once they know each other better.... Shouldn't you have known her better before you slept with her?
This book was totally unrealistic and I found myself frowning through much of it. It had the potential to be a decent book, but it feels like it was a hurried attempt at writing and publishing. Not impressed with this author's "style".
I'm not entirely sure what decade Lost & Found is taking place in. Some of the details just didn't jive for me. The story overall was good. The premise was excellent. I was a bit confused with the characterization. The language used did not fit with the college education all the boys had. Double negatives much?? There were just so many times when one thing is hinted at (needs to rest from the accident) and then low and behold the opposite is true (steady enough to work a ranch)? I would really like to see what happens to the rest of the family. Maybe some of my questions would be answered when the characters themselves are more the focus.
I'm not certain I recommend at this point. Have too many reservations. Definitely not for anyone under 18.
Audrey Gardner was on the run. She lived in Jackson Hole and made it as far as Wolf when a deer ran in front on her and she wound up in a ditch. She walked until she found a farm and she sat on a sofa on the porch and feel asleep. She was woke up by three handsome men. Gage, Jace, and Riley Coulter. This was their ranch where they lived with their mother. They had the doctor check her and he told her to take it easy for a few days, so she stayed on their ranch. Gage is attracted to her and as he learns her story he is not sure what to do. This is a short sweet story with some sex
Audrey was in a pickle. He boyfriend overdosed and she knew they would try and blame her for killing him. There was proof.....so she ran.
Gage didn't trust anyone, especially women after his ex cheated on him. But after finding Audrey asleep their front porch and his Momma taking her in, he let his guard down. Maybe he should have trusted his instincts and turn the other way but he couldn't let her go.
Would they get Audrey through her pickle or would the cops find she did kill Levi, her boyfriend?
It's one of those "bag of potato chips" books that you enjoy while you're reading it, can remember reading, and feel guilty that you read it. Two years from now you might even read it again and not remember till you're almost finished. A girl with a past (maybe, maybe not) that might destroy her future is awakened on the front porch of a ranch house by the tall handsome rancher.
So, I enjoyed reading this book but I am left wanted more. I feel that the book could have amazing if Rachel Hanna had added more details to the story. The story is good one and the outline is there but the actual substance, I felt, was lacking. If the story took place over a longer period of time and the characters had more of a chance to develop the kind of relationship that the author was aiming for it would have been amazing.
Audrey is trying to get away from trouble. She runs her car off the road, is hurt, and taken in by the Coulter family. The three brothers are all colleges grads but their grammar keeps getting worse as story goes on. Even with this, I give the book 4 stars. It's a good story and I enjoyed the book very much and will continue to read this series.
I was actually surprised that I enjoyed this book as much as I did. The country accent was really heavy for my taste, but it turned out to be a cute love story. Audrey and Gage fall hard and fast for each other. But the real question is if Audrey can face her past so that she can move forward with Gage.
This was a fun quick read. The characters were likable and the story line was good. The only real issue I had with the book was that the Coulter boys were just a little too 'simple' for as educated as they were. The climax also kind of fizzled out, but if you're looking for a semi-complicated HEA, Lost and Found should fit the bil. ;)
Wasn't sure if the story was set in the late 1800's (except there weren't cars then--or LV luggage) or in some backwoods, hillbilly town (except all the characters seemed to have all their teeth). The dialog solely contributed to this confusion. Just a bit much for me.
Lost and found is a sweet romance story. It deals with family, trust and learning to trust again. It's about running away to save yourself but owning up to you actions but realizing you are not alone when you find the right one.
I really loved this book. It was a really sweet read. Finding out truths can be hard, so can adapting to a new life. Audrey is running, but can she tell the truth as to what she is running from? Now who doesn’t enjoy a book with three handsome cowboys too?
Ms. Hannah's description of the Coulter Ranch and the beautiful Wyoming sky had me immediately hooked. Add in 3 dashing cowboys, what could be better. Makes me want to be in my 20's again and start fresh.
It was pretty good not supper great moved at a steady pace. I liked both Audrey and Geg they were ok for a couple. The book itself was pretty good just not rock your socks off greater.
