Hana is Greater. It’s a future she never envisioned for herself, but she’s not about to ignore the opportunity she’s been given--the opportunity to find answers about her Mom, Jamie, and Fischer. This could be an opportunity to tell others the truth about God and uncover the secrets the Great Supreme has been keeping from their small, struggling nation. When Hana’s search brings her to the mysterious prison she’s only heard of in rumors, the desire to get inside drives her to dig deeper for answers, but what she uncovers may be bigger than them all. Can she save herself and the others before the Great Supreme realizes what she's doing, or will she give up everyone she loves in her quest for the truth?
Deliverance (book two of Enslaved) picks up where book one, Vanquished, ends. Though throughout these books I, and other readers, see similarities to another popular series, the battle in the Enslaved trilogy is for more than life. It’s a battle for eternal life and the souls of those who have not heard the Word of God.
In Deliverance, Hanna is faced with a choice and makes it, then finds there is no turning back.
Book three is calling and I can’t wait to find what Katie Clark has is in store for Hanna.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Pre Teens- One Star New Teens- One Star Early High School Teens- Three Stars Older High School Teens- Four Stars My personal Rating- Three Stars Because the love triangle seemed more prevalent in this sequel and there were a few harming others scenes (which appeared to be necessary at that moment) I didn’t quite enjoy this one as much as the first book. “Deliverance” reminded me of the second book in the “Anomaly” trilogy because of said love triangle and because our main girl is taken to another city and experiences cultural shock. I do think Hana trusted too many people in this book—which I understand her trusting nature because of her upbringing, but I was so afraid she would be ratted out by someone. The faith content wasn’t as high at the first book, but still has the message of spreading the gospel. I am definitely looking forward to reading the third and final book soon to see what happens next. :)
This book picks up where #1 left off. This time, Hana gets to see both the Greater city and some of the Lesser cities. Frost Moon (reminds me of President Snow from the Hunger Games) takes a personal interest in Hana and her training, while all she wants to do is find her mom. We learn more about the futuristic society, and meet a fun new character (love Guard Nev). But the more we learn, the more there is to learn. The society appears to be even more flawed than we at first suspected.
The society in the Enslaved series has similarities to the world of the Hunger Games. The "Greater City" is like the Capitol. And the Lesser cities (numbered by their proximity to Greater) are like the districts. But this is where the similarities stop. Hana takes a lot of risks (as any good character must) because she feels driven to find the truth and help society. The only downside of Hana's actions are that she is inherently selfish. She does what she does and doesn't care who it might hurt along the way, even though she claims to be doing it for the good of the people in the society.
Already started #3. We'll see how this series ends.

As soon as I finished the first book, Vanquished, I couldn't read this one soon enough! Gripping beginnings, and I love how Katie Clark's series is such a page-turner. I have flown through these. The second book in the series picks up right where the first left off; new characters come into play (and I love them!) and old ones are developed. The same elements of suspense and adventure are present here, with some new added twists and turns. This book chronicles Hana's stay in Greater City--it reminded me greatly of the time in The Hunger Games when the main character is in the Capitol. So if you loved The Hunger Games or want something with a little more depth, then this is definitely for you! I am thrilled to have these books for others to read; you will definitely want to pass these on so others can enjoy them. I'll be re-reading this, and what better compliment can you give a book than that?
This was a great second novel in the Enslaved Series! I liked how Hana made unexpected allies in this one and having a new awesome character to root for!
The description that Katie delivers of Hana's surroundings is fantastic! She did such a good job and as much as I didn't want to be fascinated by the Greaters city, I was (just like Hana). Plus getting to learn all the new things about the city itself and the Lesser cities really intrigued me. It lead me to cheer for Hana even more then I already was because I want her to get to the bottom of all the lies/corruption of what’s really going on.
Overall this is another good one by Katie! She continued to surprise me as well as keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. Excited to start book three and see what all is going to go down with everything!
*(I received this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts expressed are my own and I was not required to write a positive review)*
Hanna's test results led her to the future she'd envisioned. Being a Greater provides her with advantages she'd never dreamed were possible, so why does she feel guilty? Too many unanswered questions about the government, her missing family and friends, and why the Great Supreme is so interested in her. She begins to include God in her daily life. I read Book 2 in just a few days because I connected to Hanna so strongly. Today I begin Book 3! :)
Hana is Greater. It is something she didn't expect, and doesn't understand. Something is up in Greater City, something she can't quite put her finger on but is determined to dig out. When the answers come, she realizes she's found even more than she bargained for. Now Hana must face the burden of taking the truth to the masses.
Deliverance is a fantastic book! Hana has now been given the opportunity to help those classes that are less fortunate than her....or has she? Her new status as a Greater comes with a lot of strings...Hana is shocked at the way the Greaters live in relation to the Middles. She is more determined than ever to find her friends and tell the world about God...but is she willing to pay the cost?
Another incredible cover to this series! The guy on the cover, in my mind, is Guard Nev because he is the guy who is most in the plot.
There is VERY little action in the story, this is more of a subtle/mind game type of plot, and Hana is fearless is handling Supreme Moon!
It was precious to me how she keeps her mom's perfume to remember her by, that every time she smells it, she allows the memories to come in vividly. I don't care for Keegan at all, he doesn't do it for me. Fischer knows Hana and gets her and he led her to Christ with Mr. Elders. All of these men are in the plot, but I only liked Nev and Fischer.
I had a problem with how Hana is crushing on Keegan for most of the book and then she sees Fischer and is taken by him instead. She even comments on this in the narration, but it was annoying to me.
Really want Moon to go down! I got a little bored in the middle of the story as Hana is being trained and showed the Lesser cities, then the last few chapters became page turners. Really like this story and want to see how it concludes, but not grabbed by it.
This book picks up right where the first one ended. In this sequel we get more of a Hunger Games feel. Hana is in the Greater City where the president takes and interest in her, just as President Snow did in The Hunger Games. However, this is not as similar to the previous mentioned series from this point forward. Hana really wants to help. Unfortunately what she does is often inadvertently at the cost of others. She is now a 'Greater'. This puts her in a position to learn what is truly happening with the government. It also puts her in the crosshairs of the president. He knows she has become a threat. She has found a pocket of Christians that have not let the government take away their belief system. Now she must find a way to let people know what is really happening, and at the same time protect those she loves. The suspense just keeps getting higher and higher. One suggestion for the reader is make sure you own all three books because you are going to want to read them one after another. I received a copy to facilitate my review. The opinions expressed here are my own.
Deliverance is exciting second book of the Enslaved Series. Hana's journey for truth continues as she moves between the established classes in search of the truth. The three classes are the Greaters, Middle, and the Lessers. The lessers are the outcasts of society, those that don't follow the rules they are banished to ghetto cities and prisons. Middles are the workers who make the world turn, and the Greaters are the ones with all the money and power, they make the rules.
History has shown that religion divides and so it is outlawed, yet a remnant remains that is loyal to the One True God. Hana seeks the truth and finds this group. She learns more about the True God and his followers help her on her journey.
Hana learns more about the Greaters, the things they don't want the masses to know. She has to get the word out, but can she escape?
5 Stars, this is a great book and series, I can't wait to see what happens next!
Deliverance delivers as Hana, now a Greater, is forced to live in a new city and play by new rule. She is constantly under the watchful eye of Supreme Moon, who sees Hana as a threat to his secret plans. As Hana learns about the Lesser cities and the corruption that has occurred over the years, she seeks to unravel the injustice and learn the truth behind Supreme Moon's plans. Along the way she finds there are Christians living 'free' of Supreme Moon and the deception created over the years. In fact they tell a different story of the Greater, Middle and Lesser cities than what Hana has been taught. She longs for the freedom the Christians have, but it comes at a cost. Can she share her faith, protect her friends, and escape the wrath of Supreme Moon? This well paced, story leaves you hanging, so you'll have to read Redeemer (book 3) to find out.
The second book in the Enslaved series, Deliverance leads us on a merry chase through the streets of Greater City. Hana learns a lot, especially how to trust God. It took me no time at all to finish this story as it is enticing and enthralling enough to keep the most die-hard dystopian lover interested. I enjoyed every moment of Hana's experience, though I normally stick to the romance genre.
I received this book from the author/publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Deliverance got off to a bit of a slow start as Hana adjusted to her new surroundings, but it didn't take long for the pace to pick up, at which point it was an exciting read all the way to the end. I continued to enjoy Hana's character, and I liked the new characters that were introduced in this book. My favorite part was Hana's surprise encounter at the end :) Once again, upon finishing Deliverance I bought the next book in record time so I could keep reading!
Hana Norfolk is suddenly thrust into a new environment where every thought and move she makes is being watched and examined. She doesn't understand what they want from her but one thing is clear, only her new found faith can help her find her way out. Filled with taut characterization and tense action, Redeemer is a definite page turner.
Katie Clark's Deliverance was an amazing book full of twists and turns. It gave me a new sense of the word 'Deliverance', how God can give you deliverance no matter how great or small your problem may be. I fell in love with the characters and was at the edge of my seat by the end! I love this series and I highly recommend it!!
