"Maybe you were wrong about him all those years ago. . . it must have been a mistake. . ."
Devout preacher's daughter Gracie comes back from a mission trip to find a demon from her past in her mother's house. Saul. A man she put in jail. A bad man. A dangerous man.
In spite of his felon past, Saul has the whole congregation eating out of his hand now. He claims he's here to root out sin and corruption and Gracie needs to be taught a lesson too. . .
Author's This book is dark, bad, and toxic. THIS MAN IS AN UNREDEEMABLE VILLAIN.
This reminded me a lot of Kate Rivenhall's The Eclipse Ritual because they both share similarities: incest taboo (although here they are step-brother and step-sister), religious cult that is old-school patriarchy but also make it erotic (here it's Watering the Boot but Eclipse Ritual also has a public claiming for the wedding ritual).
I quite enjoy stories that feature cults like this, but because I had read The Eclipse Ritual, this one fell short for me.
BUT can we talk about Raven's upcoming book?? Literally biting my fist. Reverse age-gap, jockhead with therapist!!!
Remorseless Sinner was another enjoyable, naughty book by Kate Raven. This author has quickly become my favorite go to for walking red flags and OTT obsessions.
I was in the mood for some OTT, dark ridiculousness with some angst but this wasn’t the angsty read I was looking for. The h was super annoying—just way too much fighting. When the author claims someone is an unredeemable villain I’m expecting a lot more angst and pain for the h.
2.5 stars rounded up. I have really enjoyed Kate Raven's book before but i struggled to enjoy this one as I felt more sorry for the heroine than being excited for an HEA. but as always it was well written and the cult was creepy
I love over-the-top men who are obsessed from the moment they meet their woman, and this stepbrother did not disappoint!
This book offers a wild, intense twist on cult life. It’s chaotic, weird, and spicy. Because it’s novella length, everything happens fast.
⚠️ Trigger warnings galore—so definitely check those before diving in. But if you’re a fan of Kate Raven’s other books, you already know what kind of wild, blush-worthy ride you’re in for.

Kate never fails, her novellas deliver what they promise. A completely unhinged, delusional and absolutely obsessed MMC...we have it!!! Saul is perfect. An FMC who doesn't understand him but, deep down, ends up being just as delusional...we have it!!! Gracie left a cult for an obsession. If you're looking for a good, balanced book with straightforward characters... forget it, this novella is not for you. If, on the other hand, you're looking for a good dose of morally grey, quick and addictive reading, this book is perfect.
“Remorseless Sinner” is the story of Gracie and Saul.
Dark stepsiblings romance based in a cult, with an insanely obsessed hero, loads of breeding and a revenge plot. The themes were creepy but it was an ok one time read.
All of Kate Raven’s books always sound way more innocent in the summaries than they actually are, and this one is no different.
We meet Gracie, our FMC, who’s always tried her best to be the “good girl” and follow every rule laid out by The Eye. When her stepbrother Saul comes back after spending time in jail (thanks to her testimony when she was 18), he returns determined to claim Gracie as his wife.
Even though Gracie is 26, she definitely gives off that innocent, almost naive energy. She wants absolutely nothing to do with Saul and tries to keep her distance. Meanwhile, the whole town turns against her, pushing her toward the one person she fears most, the one person she thinks will hurt her. Except... he won’t. At least not in his mind. In his twisted logic, she just needs to “learn her lesson” for running away from him.
Saul is definitely a morally gray character, but honestly, I found myself liking him way more than Gracie. Over the past seven years, he’s matured (at least more than she has), and his POV chapters were easily my favorite parts of the book.
Some parts of this story had me laughing, mostly because of how absurd they were, especially anything involving the cult. I’m not entirely sure if I was supposed to laugh, but I did anyway, and I loved it.
As for the plot twist... I did not see that coming at all. I’m still a little shocked, but it actually worked with the ending and felt fitting.
The one thing that really threw me off was the whole cult storyline. I would have loved way more backstory and detail there. Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded if the book was longer just to dive deeper into that aspect. Oh, and more şmüt... definitely could have used more şmüt.

No idea what happened in that story. I don’t think I understand much of anything.
Fake town with actors? Step brother sent to prison for crushing birth control pills? Stepbrother/husband comes back suddenly rich with unknown criminal job? Robots arms touching church goers so elder could m@sterbate? Vitamins given from ceiling to make Gracie lactate without pregnancy? Murdering elder by closing church doors and flood and simultaneously setting fire the the building?
Yes all this and more you will find in this book.

It needs to be edited again. There are several sections where words are missing, out of order, or repeat. Also the book is not cohesive as it goes from one scene to another. Not the worst I've read, enjoyed the plot, just needs to be re-edited.
This book was strange for me and unfortunately not a win. I went in knowing it had a cult component which served as a primary point of discussion for the entire novella. I struggled with the concept and some of the writing. Some of the writing felt incomplete and likely this will be resolved during the final edit.

In addition, the relationship between the MMC and the FMC (step-siblings) serves as a taboo element. Essentially the MMC, who is obsessed, claims the FMC through the cult while the fellowship and townsfolk sit back and watch. It was such an odd departure for this storyline and I struggled to connect the dots, so to speak.
What the ever freaking hell did I just read? I didn't know whether to laugh crazily or to burn my phone after reading this. This book was so insanely random. How the author could think about everything in this book was beyond me. Undoubtedly the author was so madly creative (?) with ideas in her head. This novella was fully packed with craziness from the start to the end.
I was so excited to see Kate Raven had released something new. There is still no dark romance out there that matches the unhingeness/possessiveness of Tanner with forced breeding/pregnancy/marriage.
This one is a novella, so a short read.
First of all, the good. I can feel Kate's writing improving and much better proof reading. There was one odd grammar issue but it was an outlier and didn't bother me.
This story also has the forced breeding/pregnancy/birth control tampering that I love, with forced marriage and a male lead who isn't afraid to scheme and manipulate to get the female lead by his side. It also has the forbidden step sibling romance trope and lactation kink in it which was new and I really liked.
In this book I wish things were fleshed out more.
I found everything to do with the cult very confusing.
Throughout the book, there were constant references to a past between the leads that wasn't revealed until the end and it felt like the reveal was too slow.
I think this book would have benefited from going in chronologically order - starting from the day the lead's met each other. The female lead would have been friends with the male lead and genuinely enjoyed his company. Even though, the male lead was constantly trying to reign in his feelings to keep the female lead close. Or maybe the male lead was tricking the female lead into thinking certain romantic things were normal between step siblings.
Then, the female lead started getting bullied at school. Maybe the female lead was keeping the bullying from the male lead. But the male lead eventually found out by spotting her injuries and sought vengeance on her behalf, only for the violence and the revelation of his feelings to scare her away into confessing to the church to get him away from her. This really would have explored the forbiddeness of the step sibling dynamic.
Then time jump into years later. The female lead talks about her step dad suddenly asking them all to move to a small town for a better life 3 years ago and she's finding she's loving her life... only to then have her step brother reappear in her life.
I would have loved if her feelings for William were explored more so we could have had an unhinged jealousy scene.
I thought the female lead had a change of heart about the cult too quickly. She didn't seem shocked and uneasy when her parents started cleaning her shoe and even told her stepdad to clean it more thoroughly. It just seemed out of character when she was still a devout believer of The Eye. She just instantly became a non-believer.
I also thought her 'I love you' confession to Saul came too abruptly. Her sudden love for him just because she became pregnant seemed to come out of nowhere.
This book was also nowhere near as spicy as the Catcher. I think there were only 2 smut scenes in this novella.

When you open a Kate Raven book, you don’t expect comfort, you expect carnage. Emotional, moral, and psychological. You know you’re about to witness something twisted, and still, she manages to go darker than you thought possible. Saul is Raven’s archetypal monster in love: obsessive, territorial, and utterly devoid of restraint. He’s not just "alpha", he's a walking red flag. And yet, in the grim world Raven builds, he’s also somehow the most stabilizing force in Gracie’s life. That’s saying something, considering he’s her stepbrother, stalker, and, eventually, her captor-husband. If the taboo of the step-sibling romance was meant to unsettle, it doesn’t come close to the Eye of Nimhe cult. The mind control, the spiritual abuse, the sentient, all-seeing eyes that grope congregants for signs of impurity, it’s grotesque, surreal, and terrifying. The hypocrisy is razor-sharp when Gracie is branded a whore by the very elders who orchestrated her life as a pawn in their religious psychodrama. Raven isn’t interested in comforting arcs or redemptive justifications. She gives us depravity without apology: non-consensual power dynamics, a man who wants to own the woman he loves in every possible way, and a heroine who is less rescued than ensnared. Saul’s obsession is nuclear. The lengths he goes to twist Gracie into his ideal are mind blowing. It’s both horrifying and hypnotic. You can’t look away. That said, I wanted more of the descent. Gracie’s internal war felt too brief. Her shift from resistance to submission came too fast, too clean. I wanted to see her break. To watch Saul make her want it. There were moments where the book backed away from the abyss just as it got interesting and with a premise this feral, there’s no room for restraint. This isn’t a romance. It’s a descent. A fever dream of cult trauma, control, and one man’s unwavering, predatory devotion. If you’re looking for safe, sane, and consensual, run the other way. But if you want to taste the madness at the heart of obsession, Kate Raven is your high priestess. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book? It wrecked me—in the best, most twisted way possible.
I went into Remorseless Sinner expecting a dark romance, but what I got was a full-on emotional rollercoaster with no seatbelt. It’s gritty, intense, and unapologetically raw. There were moments I felt like I needed to look away, but I couldn’t. I was completely hooked.
The chemistry between the characters is insane. Like, the kind that makes your stomach flip and your heart race even though you know it’s all kinds of wrong. But that’s the magic of this story—it makes you question everything. Morality, desire, power, vulnerability. It’s not a love story wrapped in a bow. It’s jagged and bruised and beautiful in its own way.
I found myself torn between wanting to protect the protagonist and wanting to shake her. She’s complex, damaged, and so achingly human. Her choices aren’t always easy to understand, but they’re real. And that realism made me feel deeply connected to her journey—even when it hurt.
This book isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s dark, it’s heavy, and it doesn’t flinch. But if you’re into forbidden romance that pushes boundaries and makes you feel every messy emotion, this one’s unforgettable.

Oh boy, Remorseless Sinner might be the most binky bonkers novella I’ve ever read. Honestly though, I was here for it! It’s a mix of several things and I can’t even describe some of that because it would ruin a few of the twists and turns we go on. Suffice it to say, you will wonder what in the ever loving hell is going on in this book. :) First and foremost, I love Kate Raven so I will read anything she writes. I love her taboo deliciousness and this is definitely that, just not in the way I was expecting. I have to admit a lot of this novella had me feeling weird and creepy because of the depiction of our mc’s church, and the imagery of eyes and serpents; Kate really does a good job painting a pretty scary picture! Please check your triggers because there’s a lot of them here. Side note - I love that one of the warnings is that there are “unrealistic hymen scenes” which I wondered what that could possibly mean and when we get to that scene I just quietly, blushingly, said “oh”. I love bending reality and science to meet the whims of the book; in some cases that might not work so well but when the whole book is mind bending, it’s pretty fun!
Cults are kooky and creepy, and so was this book. But that was the point. This was not the typical Kate Raven book, as other reviewers wrote, and that was okay. It was not as bad as some of the other reviewers stated. Authors list trigger warnings for a reason, and if those warnings are not your cup of tea, then you should not read the book, especially if you are just going to write a negative review. Most of the complaints were about topics readers were prewarned about in the trigger warnings. Sermon over (pun intended). That being said, this book was dark, with more smeggs than plot. I was warned, chose to read it, and enjoyed it. The MMC, Saul, was definitely a remorseless, morally gray, walking red flag! He was obsessive and possessive and has a breeding kink. The FMC, Gracie, was the girl that left the obsession of the cult for the obsession of her stepbrother. Saul was OTT and obsessed with Gracie as soon as he met her. Gracie accepts his kinks. This book was different, so if you are looking for a quick piece of kooky kink, take a chance. You might enjoy it.

Short and smutty—just like I expected. Finished it in under 2 hours. If you're picking up Remorseless Sinner for plot or romance, lower your expectations. This isn’t a love story—it's a dark, taboo, cult-heavy mindf**k loaded with control, violence, and noncon.
The storyline barely holds up, but honestly, that's not why you’re here. You’re here for the chaos: forced marriage, stepbrother obsession, cult worship, and plenty of unhinged, graphic smut. On that front, it delivers. The darkness? Absolutely there. The warnings? VERY real. If any of them make you pause, then walk away. This book doesn't hold back and doesn’t try to justify its characters or their actions.
I wanted more plot from Kate Raven (her older stuff had better balance), but for what it is—erotic horror wrapped in a cracked religious cult fantasy—it works. I’m not mad. Just wish it had more backbone story-wise.
Recommended only if you're into heavy taboo and can stomach the extreme.

I am a big fan of Kate Ravens books, she's not written one that I haven't liked so far and this one is no different, this is the story of Gracie and Saul.
Gracie is a sweet girl brought up in a fundamentalist group she has tried all her life to be a good girl, how quick those same people see devoted herself too sold her out.
Saul is Gracie's step brother who has an unhealthy obsession with Gracie. He messes with her medication which gets him sent to prison, so when he turns back up and Gracie suddenly needs someone to claim her or she'll be abandoned by the church and left for the forest. Who should turn up but that very same step brother the one who still is obsessed with her?
Can love like this ever be sweet? Can it ever work. In storybook romances of course it can. I loved this it was so well written I flew through it, Kate has a way of making you feel your in her books.

I need me a SAUL!! This man is absolutely unhinged and obsessed with his step sister Gracie that he creates a whole town for her. The people who live there and work there are all actors and she has lived there for 3 years and never knew until Saul came back into her life. Their fucked up church and religion is so messed up. Gracie is devoted but seems to have some doubts. Saul gave it up the moment he met Gracie. She is his religion now. He was banished by Gracie but came out the winner. he is a powerful deadly rich man who owns them all and kills the all as revenge for his wife. Absolutely loved this dark, Twisted book. Saul is a beast and Gracie has a hidden dark side that makes her a little whore for Saul.
SOMETIMES WHAT WE NEED OR WANT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US
Saul and Gracie. A cult. A man from her past. A man so obsessed with her he will go to any length to get her. But in time she finally sees him. Gets him. Obsessed.
Theres lies that shape her. An arranged marriage. Punishment. Obsession. Possessivness. To a point of cra cra. Im not going to say anymore but if you are a Kate Raven fan you will totally enjoy this read of two lost souls obsessed with each oither.
Just a word on the cover. The ARC has a different cover and I read the synopsis because if it. The cover revealed on Amazon I wouldnt have read the synopsis. But thats just me I'll let you make up yall's own minds.

Remorseless Sinner By Kate Raven Gracie O'Brien is a very good girl. She goes to church every day and honors her mother and stepfather. She does everything for them, cooks, cleans, and even cares for their shoes and feet. This church she goes to is a very different kind of church; one of the men who is a higher-up wants her to be his mistress, but she refuses. This story is interesting to read, with all the goings on in it. I love stories that are different from the run-of-the-mill stories. It is a page-turner. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my honest opinion.
First off, I love most of Kates' other books. Does she deliver on her promise of an unrealistic, OTT story with a jealous and possessive MMC? Absolutely! Unfortunately, this one just didn't hit the mark for me. I found it to be too heavily centred around the strange cult, which detracts a lot from the MMCs behaviour and often pushed me out of the story. If it had less of the cult and more of the MMCs' unhinged plans, I think it would have had a better balance and would've been a more enjoyable read for me.
This was a ride! A town that's embedded deeply in a corrupt religion, it was easy to see that something interesting was going to happen. I went in blind and was pleasantly surprised by an estranged stepbrother stepping up to save the heroine, until... Oh wait, he orchestrated that entire thing because he's obsessed and has been for years. And then he takes retribution on anyone who helped him orchestrate or took advantage of her.
Perfect, dark & twisty, quick read, and it was everything I needed from a Kate Raven book.
I read this book in just over a day. It gripped me from the beginning. I was Interested to see how the characters would develope. Personally I feel Gracie gave in a little too easily, she seemed to accept her fate and that was that. I would of liked to of learnt more about Saul and how he came to be the man he was. Overall I did enjoy the book, however I almost feel it could of been slightly longer, adding in more details on Saul
