I wanted a one sitting book that I could read over Christmas in July. This fitted the bill nicely.
Overall the writing was light and entertaining. Each story was well written and felt well balanced. Nothing was rushed and I didn't feel that anything came to an abrupt end. I enjoyed every story and would like to have read more in each one. I was kept entertained from the beginning right through to the end.
Each story was one chapter. Breaks in the stories were illustrated by an extra space in-between paragraphs and a star.
Not every story was Christmas themed, but I didn't mind that. It was good for Christmas in July or if you just wanted a break from the festive theme!
I liked that at the beginning of the book the author gave us an insight as to what her Christmases look like.
Overall it was a lovely little collection that I highly recommend as a one sitting read over the festive period!
Not actually christmassy apart from the lovely introduction!! My worst nightmare of a book, boy meets girl, they argue, they get back together - in loads of short stories, arghhhh!!
This is an entertaining collection of eleven short stories - all Christmas themed - together with the start of the author's next novel 'Creature Comforts'. The stories can be read at a sitting and each one is ideal to read if you have a few minutes to spare even if it isn't Christmas. The author has also included her thoughts on the madness of the 'must have' idea of Christmas where people are trying to make their houses and their Christmas lunches resemble a magazine feature. Sometimes the best Christmasses are those which take the least preparation and the least expense.
This e book features eleven enchanting short Christmas stories each only 5-10 minutes each. I enjoyed all the stories and was left wanting more with a couple of them, also included is a few chapters of her new novel creature comforts which is a book on my to read pile so I'm also looking forward to that. Definantly a good read to get you into the festive spirit 🎄🎄
Some of these stories were almost prologues for books that came later. Trisha Ashley tells a good story and these short stories are the appetisers for her books, all of which are brilliant.
I enjoyed reading these lovely short stories. They were short and sweet but I had actually wished a few of my favorites went on for longer. My favorite of the bunch was Breaking the Ice.
Yet another book of lovely short stories by Trisha Ashley. If you like short stories and romance do read this book and you will not regret it. You will finish it with a glow in your heart!
This was a collection of short stories all previously published in women's magazines. There was a couple of really good ones here but they all ended quite quickly. The stories are a good length to read whilst on your tea/coffee break hence the title. Didn't like that the short stories ended at 63% the way through book and then the rest was an excerpt from the authors new novel Creature Comforts which I have to say didn't hold my interest and wont be reading the novel. Also must mention the story with the mermaid and the seal ehhh! Definitely not the kind of story I expect from this author. All in all some good stories here but you will get through them very quickly.
I liked the stories, I just wanted more of them! I love Trisha's voice and I'll read anything that she writes - so I enjoyed this collection of short stories. I haven't read the preview of the new book (about 1/3 of the total) because I'll be grumpy I can't read it yet if I do! It's still good value though.
