Scars of His Wrath

Rate this book
Bound by fate to the man she's sworn to defy.

Revered for her magical ability, Naya is the most treasured omega in her parents' empire. Her birth marked the arrival of peace in the land, and her people eagerly await her reign.

But Naya is haunted by a tragedy.

Finding her mate is the key to banishing the shadows plaguing her. Yet no matter how hard she searches, Naya can’t find the one who ignites the profound attraction her mate is destined to arouse.

Then one night, she is stolen.

Akoro, an alpha dominated by vengeance and violence, takes her to a distant land where her powers are useless. A cold-hearted king, he demands she help him conquer her empire.

Naya vows to safeguard her people, but she is horrified when Akoro awakens the primal craving that confirms he is her true mate.

Devastated, she endures his cruelty and growing obsession with her, certain they could never be together.

But Akoro has scars of his own.

His secrets might help her oppose him, but as she digs deeper, the desire between them erupts into an irresistible, heated torment.

Scars of His Wrath is book 1 in a steamy dark romance series set in a dark fantasy world. This book ends in a cliffhanger and contains dark romance situations. Please see author's note for warnings. For fans of faithful alpha anti-heroes, omegaverse, and captive romances.

OMG, no.

I have a very high tolerance for dark heroes, but I've always had one non-negotiable line: no non-sexual physical abuse of the heroine. This guy:

⤅ starves her and deprives her of water

⤅ leaves her tied up outside during the hottest part of the day, while she's screaming in pain from her skin touching the hot rock she's on

⤅ oh, and since she's tied up all the time, she can't get to a toilet and wets herself

⤅ HE BREAKS MULTIPLE OF HER RIBS

Plus other things I can't remember right now. So noooo thanks.

From her favorite spot, she could look down over Ashens, the capital city, which sprawled in every direction in its chaotic growth to become the powerful pulse of the Lox Empire. She loved watching its moods but she no longer visited the city. For six years, only the forest had seen her with any frequency. She’d returned to it multiple times a day, battling relentless thoughts, whispering dreams, and a shame so potent, she needed to be alone in order to breathe.

Scars of His Wrath takes us back to the Lox Empire, the fmc is Drocco and Cailyn's eldest daughter. It's been forever since I read omegaverse and this hit all the points for me:

-MF omegaverse, focus is solely on the FMC & MMC
-Great world-building
-Great smut
-Enemy kidnaps princess for revenge trope

Speaking of the MMC, he rivals Drocco when it comes to being a brutish asshole. I have thick skin when it comes to asshole men in fiction, but Akoro walked the line. Right now he's all vengeance & instinct, treating the heroine as a possession. I see room for him to soften and I'd love for the author to reveal more about his backstory in book 2.

This does end on a cliffhanger, the couple had *so much* chemistry I was mainly going to feel left hanging if the author didn't deliver smut. There's plenty in book 1. The cliffhanger is the plot continuing as Akoro's impending invasion grows closer to the Lox Empire.

Trigger warnings include violence to the heroine from the MMC, strong language, strong dubcon. I'm not usually ruffled by dubcon or noncon, but there was one particular scene that was such an asshole move by the MMC it pissed me off. Basically, the author dialed up the dubcon, amped up the conflict between FMC & MMC, they're truly enemies that happen to be fated mates. I'm looking forward to seeing how they come together for their HEA in book 2.

I've added some quotes to give an example of the strong language, it emphasizes how much of an asshole this alpha is (slight spoilers - I chose the harshest language the MMC uses in the book):

So so SO SO good. I'm beaming I'm so happy about this book right now !!!!
I've been waiting for OG Zoey Ellis' omegaverse books for what it feels like years now. She's been on a bit of a hiatus recently and before that, she focused on the Dragorai series which wasn't my favorite.
This brought me right back to 2020 when I first discovered and totally fell in love with the Myth of Omega series, I devoured all books in a few days.
Long overdue, Scars of His Wrath is perfect: the heroine Naya was strong and badass without being obnoxious, she had moments of weakness which made her human but I loved how she never backed down even though what Akoro put her through was horrible. Akoro was one hateful motherfucker. I hated him, he was mean and cruel and abusive and selfishly single-minded on his goals. Nothing else mattered to him but his quest for revenge so I can't wait for him to grovel and suffer and ask for forgiveness at Naya's feet. Please Zoey, make him suffer and grovel like crazy!! It's exactly what he deserves.
Obviously, nobody does Omegaverse smut like Zoey Ellis, and in true Zoey Ellis fashion, the spice was phenomenal: them passionately hating each other made it that much better and irresistibile.
Above all, I find her a skilled and talented author, the world-building is always interesting and well-done and the heroes in her books have always been faithful and loyal so far, even during the enemy phase, which is a HUGE plus to me.
I can't wait to continue akoro and naya story, I'm hoping as soon as possible <3

Okay my only regret about this book is not waiting to read it until the trilogy is complete. This is the 3rd time I’ve done this in February!
Once again I dived into a book without checking it was complete. I was looking for a dystopian fix after reading Pet:Genesis and stopping about half way through because it ends in a cliffhanger then I read the King by Eris Belmont only to find out it’s also incomplete. So here I am hanging on a cliffy .

Princess Nara is the daughter of Drocco and Cailyn from Crave to conquer which I haven’t read. She is an omega, skilled warrior and full of magic —looking for her Mate. She is kidnapped by Akora —who is like Kal Droggo from GOT —and taken to his desert land. He plans on using her for intel. He does some pretty heinous torture to her but like in The King heals her somewhat after he tortured her. He uses magic to stick her to a wall and later to a rock where she is left to blister and pass out in the hot baking sun… he also breaks her ribs with magic when she tries to escape….and doesn’t provide bathroom Privileges. He’s like a maniac set on taking her Father’s Kingdom. At some point Nara realizes he’s her true mate but he doesn’t because she has suppressive bonds . Later when the suppressive is removed he realizes and of course wooed her because sex and mate…and heat and rut.. afterwards she shut down mentally and he grovels — well as much as a maniac Can grovel. He wants to keep Her as his mate but he still wants to murder her family and usurp her Kingdom. You will love to hate this guy! Nara is determined to escape despite him disfiguring her face with a magic knife that causes bleeding and horrible scarring if she leaves his close proximity.

Legacy stories are usually tricky because you are not only invested on the story but there's also a certain attachment to the characters that used to be the focus on the previous books. This book did a great job balancing between creating a character with her own thoughts and a unique relationship with her parents while keeping them true to their personality without ruining their image for the sake of the plot. I enjoyed reading about a new person while getting to revisit the other characters and knowing how they're doing. It felt pretty balanced between the romance/steam while maintaining the plot and keeping me reading until it was over. That being said, it does end on a cliffhanger and has a few things that might be triggering for some so please read the description and the triggers before you start it.

As the heir to the most successful empire of the known lands, Naya, has a lot to live up to. She's convinced that to rule to the best of her abilities she needs to find her true mate but she's running out of time. Her parents are pushing for her to settle and insisting she doesn't waste her life trying to find someone that might not even be alive anymore. Now they've run out of patience and are arranging a marriage for her, she has 3 choices none of which are the true mate she yearns but destiny has other plans for her and her true mate seems to be more dangerous and unknown than she even dreamt he'd be. Can she handle having her wish come true in a way she never imagined?

A VERY rough road to HEA

Whooo boy!! This series started ROUGH and it stayed rough through almost two whole books in the series! It eventually does get better and the hero, IMO, redeems himself, but DAMMNNN, I HATED him for a while!

Im reviewing ALL three books here, and let me say: theyre DARK, especially the FIRST BOOK

WARNING!!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

There is torture. As in the hero tortures the heroine. He is cruel and vicious. He sees her as his enemy and he is determined to break her. And the torture is creative ( for example, he breaks her ribs thru some Magical means.) He almost kills her from heat and dehydration. Its not pretty. Its not for the sensitive or squeamish.

Once he knows she is his mate, he gets SLIGHTLY better. But when push comes to shove he will revert back to the tools and methods he knows: namely cruelty and violence. I think thats what ultimately redeems him in the end—he faces who he is and that is someone violent and cruel and he is horrified when he really internalizes what he has done against his mate. Its only in facing who he is that he is able to consciously try and change his course, to seek forgiveness and redemption—and there’s some
Groveling, too!

I love that the heroine was innocent, she had a core of steel that didnt allow her spirit to break even as her heart broke. She stood her ground with the hero and didnt easily forgive him. It wasnt until he showed PROOF of his heart change, his willingness to burn down his whole world, give up everything for her—only then did she forgive him.

Despite the very rough beginning, I liked the story, I liked the characters, I liked the hero’s redemption arc, I liked the world building and the plot. And i loved the HEA, it was all the swoon!

There was lots of action, lots of tension between the MCs, LOTS and LOTS of spice!

Safe. Hero’s past is briefly mentioned but he has been celibate for a while. The heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No ow/ very minor OM. No cheating or sharing, but there is abuse by the hero against the heroine. HEA with epilogue one year out and with a baby!

I like living on the edge. I have only 10 hours before the ARC ends and here I am, writing this in haste.

This book was my first omegaverse in a very loooong while. Heck, I don't even remember when was my last book.

As the norm with this niche of a genre, get yourself ready for a morally grey/antihero hero and an uncomfortable amount of bodily fluids and graphic descriptions of con non-con (or was it non con? Idunno. It's hard to guess with this genre).

Anyway, with this one particular one, it has that mix of your traditional fantasy romance with kingdoms and impending invasions. As for the tropes, expect enemies to lovers, true mates, antiheroes, forced proximity, living in enemy's camp, some tortures stuffs etc.

As for my own opinion, it's a good mesh of your typical omegaverse book (and the subsequent plot devices) and your typical fantasy with warring kingdoms. I guess we'll see how the world building expand in the next book, or it could just end there and focus on the unique dynamic of Alpha-omega. For now, I'm still undecided. We'll see, peeps.

*I have received an ARC copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher in exchange of my review. 🙏🏻

I love OmegaVerse books and Zoey Ellis always delivers on a great read!!
Good news for new readers: you can still read this one even though it's a next gen. I have not read all the books in the previous series and had no problem following, but it did make me want to go back and binge them!!

I knew going into this book it was a cliffhanger and in the case of fantasy/Omega verse, its so appreciated. Why? Because then the reader gets so much vivid detail and you feel as if you've been transported to that world!

Can't wait for book 2!!!

This was a really fascinating book with a unique range of characters, interesting magic system and beautiful world building! The dynamic of Alpha X Omega was also really interesting, and i think it was done in a unique way that isn't seen too often.

While saying that i was very confused right at the start. There were so many fundamental parts of the world, magic system and dynamics that weren't really explained. I either had to make my own conclusions/assumptions, or wait right till the end for things to be revealed. That is really the only thing that i struggled with, and while it was hard to get into the story with all of these confusing elements, it did make it more intriguing the further into the story i progressed, when things were being revealed or becoming obvious.

It wasn't at all what i was expecting. I thought that there would have been less of a romantic struggle between the two main characters because of the Alpha X Omega dynamic, but it was interesting and refreshing to have it spun in this way.
The MMC is almost entirely irredeemable in my opinion. Right at the start his actions didn't seem too bad, all things considered, but as soon as he realized what they were to each other, his behavior didn't change even in the slightest. I wasn't expecting insta love, but for him to carry on being emotionally abusive followed by the physical abuse (even if they were both acting on their based instincts) was still such a dick thing for his character to do.
Add in the fact that his POV later on has him feeling confused and almost sorry for his actions (only after she's become a shell of who she is) but still doesn't address them or try to atone for made me a million times madder.

While i hate the MMC with every fiber of my being, i think that the FMC is really complex and seems like the most thought out character of the bunch. She's a walking contradiction who just wants the best for her people while longing for her true mate (sucks for her). She's also really freaking strong to have gone through everything that she has and still come out at the end fighting tooth and nail against the MMC.

Again, the magic system and world building is really fascinating! The way that the Omega's are the ones to wield magic in her world and yet the magic behaves differently in his was very intriguing and posed a lot of struggles for her that she didn't understand. The cultural differences and differences in tech should also make for a very cool cross over when they try to invade her land!

Again, a very interesting story with unique world building and magic, some bad ass characters and a mmc i want to strangle then kick in the balls. I'm also devastated about the cliffhanger! It was so intense and abrupt, and i'm on edge to see how things will go in book 2.
I desperately want her to come out on top and kick his ass, but at the same time i want her to have a happy ending with everything working its self out in the end. I think for once i'm hoping that there will be a different male that turns up and sweeps her off her feet, because i'll be fuming if he changes slightly and they work things out and she accepts him without much of a fight.
Overall though, really enjoyable, and i can't wait to see what happens.

Great read! Naya is a revered princess and Omega and is desperate to find her mate. She just never expected it to be someone like Akoro. She has been taken to a land where her powers are useless, and he demands she help him conquer her own empire. What will she do when she discovers that he is her mate? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense, twists, and turns. Great characters and amazing world building. I loved it and can’t wait for more.

"Y-you said that you would—you wouldn't touch me."
"I said no such thing." Deep and growly, his voice shuddered right to her core.
She tried to think back to her time in the tent, but the memory was hazy.
"You said… You said."
"I said, I would treat you in accordance with your dynamic." The Alpha slightly raised a brow. "I have… And I will."
"No!" Naya shouted, his meaning suddenly seeping into her. "No. I do not want you to take advantage of my Haze."
"Take advantage?" he said. "I am your mate. It is my responsibility."
"No!" Naya shook her head wildly. "No, you don't get to claim responsibility now. Not after everything you've done to me."
“I would have claimed it a long time ago if not for my brother,” he growled.
Naya rubbed her neck. It was getting too hot for clothes. “What?”
“My brother has been keeping you blocked.”
Naya’s mouth dropped open. “Who is your brother?”
“Your healer.”

"I told you I will treat you like an Omega, tmot zia, but I also must treat you like you’re mine, because that's what you are. You cannot go through your heat without your Alpha."
"I can," Naya insisted, even though every instinct in her body screamed that was a lie. "I can, I can," she muttered, trying to convince herself more than the Alpha in front of her.
Tears sprung to her eyes, clinging to her lashes as they fluttered. This was the worst nightmare she could ever have imagined, and she knew he was behind it. He’d done something. She didn’t know how. All she knew was that she did not want, could not want him after everything he’d done, after everything he planned to do.

She blinked, gaining clarity now that her nose wasn’t against him. "Let me go," she rasped. "Please, I am begging you. Let me stay in here on my own. Just provide me with water. I will be fine in a few days."
Akoro's eyes searched hers. "You think I will deprive myself?"
Naya’s eyes widened in horror. She slammed her hand against him, pushing him as she backed away from him. "I am a treat?" she yelled. "My Haze is something for you to indulge in? A fucking reward?"
Akoro said nothing, simply watched her.
"This is why you do not deserve it!" she hissed. “You are using me… You’re not fit. I—“ She lifted a trembling hand, rubbing her forehead, trying to remember what she was angry about.

She cried for the strength she thought she had to see this through, she cried for her papa and mama who would be devastated to know what happened to her, she cried for her little Omega sister Idaya that one day she may face a similar situation, she cried for all the Omegas who woke up to find themselves fucked against their will in their heat, just because of instinct and biology. She cried until she couldn’t cry anymore, until she was painfully dry and numb.

She tightened herself in her cocoon, horrified at the way she'd behaved with him. The things she did, the things she’d thought. How her people would be ashamed of her if they knew. She was supposed to be the Guardian of Omegas, she couldn't even guard her own legs and keep them closed. She was a disgrace. Her eyes prickled again at all the things they'd done. He’d taken such animalistic pleasure in her, but nothing was as bad as the pleasure she'd taken back.

When she had read the history books, she always thought she would rather die than allow herself to be used like that. And yet, it had happened.
And by her own mate, no less.

her small. "Why did you leave my bedroom?" he asked, irritated. "That is where you should be."
Naya said nothing, allowing him to fix her wherever he wanted. He could do whatever he wanted, he was stronger than her. He pulled her up so her head rested on his bicep, wrapping his arms around her, and pulling her against him so they were snug bundle within the cocoon, but when he saw her face, his whole body bristled.
"You are upset." The words were harsh.
Naya said nothing. What was the point of responding to him? Anything she said he would have an answer for, except a good reason why he had still fucked her when she said no.
The Alpha made a displeased sound. "You are upset with me, tmot zia."
He stroked his fingers across her scalp, sending a thrilling sensation through her aching body. She relaxed into him and then cursed herself for doing it.
"You cannot be angry with me," he said, still stroking. "You know that once an Omega is in her Haze, an Alpha’s rut is just as compelling. It couldn’t be helped. If it hadn't been me it would have been someone else;
the only Alphas who have been around you are Nrommo and Oppo. Would you have preferred one of them?"

"I would have preferred none of you," Naya said, her voice low. "You forced my heat on me. If it was going to happen, it should have happened when we met, after you had been torturing me."
The soft growl at the back of his throat trembled in her stomach. "It was always supposed to happen. It was just delayed. My brother has been caring for you, and he thought it necessary to give you extra protection from going into your heat, on top of the steps we’d taken."

Akoro is such a ruthless Alpha on the battlefield but also in the bedroom 🔥

Nayara is kidnapped and tortured in the desert to make her complaint and work with him while he plans to conquer her empire and kill all her people. But along the travel Akoro doesn’t understand why he is so drawn to her and starts to seek her out in the middle of the night for a sparring session and things start te heat when she got a hit on him 🔥

When arriving at the palace, she soon was being questioned about everything of her empire, customs and her own family tree. She tries to block her interest to Akoro but things change once he finds out she is his true mate.

She goes into heat/haze and fire started spreading but right after she still doesn’t want anything to do with him. Because she thinks he doesn’t care for her but for the fact she in an Omega that he wants to use for himself.

While still trying to come up with a plan to escape Akoro marks her with a special blade where her face starts to bleed the further she is away from him. But that doesn’t stop her she looks for a way at any cost so she can warn her father.

This book was amazing! Tension was spilling from the pages and the torture was hard to read but to see the progression being made from both sides was so interesting I can’t wait to read the next book 🔥

This is what they mean when they say enemies to lovers except they’re definitely still enemies. I’ve read omegaverse before but this is omegaverse and dark fantasy mixed together that give the book a lot of layers. This is the beginning of a series spin off from another series that I haven’t read yet but you wouldn’t know reading this so it doesn’t take away from the story. What a cliffhanger!!

Naya is the princess and heir to her kingdom. She is a powerful magic wielder and an Omega who believes finding her true mate will help her rule her kingdom when the time comes. Until one day she’s stolen away to a distant land where her powers are useless. Akoro is the cold hearted Alpha king of his people who is determined to destroy her empire and demands she help him. Naya is devastated to discover that he is the true mate she’s been searching for all along. Can her hate override her instincts.

UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!!! Scars of His Wrath by Zoey Ellis was FANTASTIC!!! It’s the story of Akoro and Nayara (Naya). She’s an omega Princess, powerful, fierce, and broken. She is to take the reigns from her father. But, then the beast rears its ugly head, and kidnaps her, takes her to another realm, and has horrendous plans for her.

So, I’m not usually one for Sci Fi romance…other worlds…that kind of thing…too much to learn. But, this story was AMAZING!!! The heat level friction between these two is palpable. The horrible way he uses her in an effort to eventually wreak havoc on her world is unforgiveable. He treats her like chattel and she has no choice. Her magic has been subdued. But, this story has only just begun!!!! Ends in an incredible cliffhanger!!!!

“Scars of His Wrath,” by Zoey Ellis

Naya is a beloved omega with magic, her people wait for the day she reigns and protect the people, but she suffers from trauma with a tragedy in her past. The key to getting rid of her memories relies on finding her fated mate. No one seems to light the mated bond despite her search until she is stolen. Kidnapped by Akoro, an alpha king from a distant land bent on taking over her world. Naya is determined to protect her kingdom, but the mating bond keeps getting in the way.

This book gave me serious Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones vibes. A barbarian kidnaps princess who is sweet and naïve. I loved the entire concept of the book. The romance is intense with the “you do what I say, when I say” vibes but with the omega’s desire to obey against their own will rules. I can’t wait for book 2. 4 out of 5 stars.

-Multi POV
-Magic
-Omegaverse
-Barbarians
-Enemies To Lovers
-Kidnapped

Thank you for the ARC.

I'll preface this by saying that "dark romance" and "enemies-to-lovers" is my jam. A bit of dub-con and/or some light non-con in my dark romance is my jelly. Throw in some Alpha/Omega dynamics, and we've got ourselves something yummy. Also, I've always been a fan of bodice rippers, and this story feels like a modern nod to those tempestuous, tumultuous, and torrid romances that I adored back in the day. In short, this story was right up my alley, and it did not disappoint.

I hated, then loved, then hated the MMC. Yet I stayed up til 4 am, devouring this book, because it checked all the boxes for me. And because I truly enjoyed Zoey Ellis' Drocco and Cailyn pairing (the FMC's parents) in previous books, I was pretty sure that I would enjoy this one too (sure did). That said, I'll add a warning to sensitive readers: the MMC is hard-hearted and mean. He isn't sweet on the FMC from the jump, and readers may despise him as much as the FMC does. I certainly did.

The story ends in a cliffy, tho (which I don't like), so that did affect my rating.

I was quickly captivated and consumed by this dark and intense read. This wickedly complex story tugs at your heartstrings, stretches your nerves to the breaking point and has you clinging to the edge of your seat. Naya had my heart aching terribly for her and Akoro just plain had my thoughts and feelings all tangled up. One thing is for sure, I am absolutely desperate for book two!

Naya has neen searching for her mate, and after years of not finding him, she fears she never will. Then, she is kidnapped by the beast that invaded her forest.

Akoro is seeking revenge against those who destroyed his land. He will use Naya to do it even if she is his mate.

This was my first book by this author, and I quite enjoyed it. It had everything i love. Suspense, spice, and just about the right level of darkness. Honestly, I will be anticipating the second book as I have to know what happens next.
Definitely recommend 👌

Do I recommend it? ✔️

Tropes: dark romantic fantasy, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, captive romance, fated mates, omegaverse

Revered for her magical ability, Naya is the most treasured omega in her parent's empire. Her birth marked the arrival of peace in the land, and her people eagerly await her reign. But Naya is haunted by a tragedy. Finding her mate is the key to banishing the shadows plaguing her. Yet no matter how hard she searches, Naya can't find the one who ignites the profound attraction her mate is destined to arouse. Then, one night, she is stolen. His secrets might help her oppose him, but as she digs deeper, the desire between them erupts to an irresistible, heated torment.

It's been quite some time since I've read any omegaverse stories, and I didn't realize how much I missed it. This author is crazy talented as she created a world that I became easily engrossed in. All Naya has wanted is to find her fated mate, and my heart went out to her when she's taken by Akoro. I would have loved to knock some sense into him. I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens next. I am definitely recommending this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

"Their attraction was a powerful one that should have been the greatest love known"

Akoro is determined to take revenge on those who have brought death and destruction to his lands,
and save his people
He has a plan that will ensure his success. Despite his advisors' opposition, he abducts the highly revered princess.
There are no lines he will not cross to get the information he needs from her.
His people come first and no kindness will be shown to the enemy

Naya is an omega and the future queen of her people.
She is a fierce fighter and a highly skilled magic wielder.
She has spent years searching for her true mate in the hopes he will bring balance to her magic
Though it looks as though it was not meant to be
Her parents have had enough and are arranging for her betrothal
That is until she finds herself abducted and in the hands of Akoro
Naya is determined to stay strong and gather information to aid her people
However, as her captivity progresses it is not looking very good for her.
Can she survive long enough to get word to her father?
Can she fight her omega side and stay true to her people?

Akoro is an absolute idjiot.
The healer, however, I like him.
I know he did it thinking it was the right thing to do; but would she have faired better if he hadn't?
Naya was such a strong heroine. Yes, there were times of short panic. But after her internal breakdown, she straightened her crown and stood strong.
I have so many questions about the white magic. I also want to know how the magic and the omegas work in Akoro's world.
I also wonder if he is right and the King has something to do with it.

This has some darker moments. Great world-building. The vast differences between the worlds. How they wield their magic and the way it is used to craft things. The omegas.
This is packed with little breadcrumb trails, which is what kept me so engaged.
Not enough to get the whole picture but plenty that lead to what might be.

This ends on a to-be-continued
I am looking forward to book two

Naya, omega and Princess of the Lox Empire. She has been seeking her true mate for years. But now her parents, the King and Queen, are trying to set up meetings for her to meet alphas. They are set to do an arranged marriage, That night she heads to her forest. And there she's kidnapped by a dark stranger who tells her he will invade and destroy her realm with her help.
Akoro is focused on taking over Naya's realm. He has captured her to help in his plan. She's his leverage. He has threatened to annihilate every person to take over her land. He tells her what he will do to her if she doesn't comply. She thinks of her people. As they're talking her blocks fail and she smells him....he is her mate. His council was opposed to taking the omega princess. Even with her among them they were still fearful. They could feel her power. But he is focused on the Sy Dynasty to endure.
Does he really think he can control an omega princess who has been trained in battle and magic and has a will of steel? Who will win the battle between an omega and an alpha?
An amazing story of wills.

I received an ARC-copy for my honest review.
Scars of wrath takes place in the Myth of the Omega universe, and it portrays Nayara's story. Nayara is the firstborn child of Caelyn and Drocco. She is the heir of the Lux empire, and she is desperately seeking her true mate in order to feel confident to be able to rule the Empire. Six years ago, she had a terrible incident that made her wary and insecure in her belief she could rule her people and succeed. She seeks solace in the palace forest late at night and one night she is taken from her world by a terrifying Alpha. Realizing he is her true mate, she fights and waits for the moment she can come back and save her family, her people and her home.
I have to say that it took me some chapters to really get submerged in the story. I didn’t really get Naya and her obsession with her true mate until I advanced in the book and the reason she felt so insecure about her competence as future ruler of that Empire. Akoro, the main male character, is so cruel to Naya and determined to destroy her world and family that it seems impossible for Naya to love him and claim him as his true mate. The plot is knitted smoothly in a way I couldn’t stop reading once I got hooked, and suddenly I was at the last page and craving desperately for the second book. I really like the way the author describes the characters and situations. I suffered with Naya during her ordeal against the beast and her devastation, realizing her dream of finding her true mate turned to ashes and that is the result of the development of the story. I hope I don’t have to wait too long for the next book. If you read the Myth of the omega or if you like the Alpha/Omega genre, this is a must-read book for your library.

Thank you to the author for sharing an ARC of this book with me on NetGalley!!!

This book surprised me in a way I was not expecting. To be funny honest, I was in for a fun time. And I got it. Only I got even more!!! A paranormal omega verse enemies to lovers story where she is a princess looking for her true mate and he is the beast from a different world who has been planning for so long to unleash destruction on her family and her entire empire. I loved it. It was raw, cruel and full of frustration, primal need and angst, and I loved every second of it. Was I expecting it? Maybe not. But I’m pleased by what I found. It is an engaging story that brings you in from the very first second and draws you deeper and deeper into despair and pain and frustration and lust and smut times. After all when Alphas and Omegas are in the same room and one or both feel something more for one another … denying it is pointless. I’m truly looking forward to more books in this series and I really wanna get to read more in Naya and Akoro’s story!!!

This was absolutely fabulous. That ending!!! OMG!!! I don't know how I'm going to survive the wait! 😭😭😭😭

It was so exciting being back in the world of Myth of Omega. I have been dying for a taste of the Unknown Lands since we got that brief tease in the Own trilogy. This book revisits the Lox Empire from the original Crave trilogy, and we meet Drocco and Cailyn's eldest daughter, Naya.

The way Naya's past trauma and Akoro's motivations were slowly revealed was magnificent. It was woven perfectly into the plot--it was so hard for me to put this down because I was so desperate to find out what had happened.

By the end of the book, we're still not sure exactly what happened in the Unknown Lands and how the Known Lands are involved, but I definitely have some theories. I can taste how it's all going to come together and already know it will be stunning. I'm also eager to find out where all the Sy omegas are (and what happened to poor Oppo!).

It was interesting that Naya's Haze and post-Haze experience was so similar to Cailyn's. It didn't last as long, and wasn't identical, but it was a nice throw back. Akoro is just as vicious and frustrating as Drocco was, and I can't wait to see his development. We got glimpses of it already from the few chapters of his POV, but I am so ready for his own cabin-moment.

The ending was a punch to the gut, because I was so caught up in it I was absolutely not expecting to suddenly see "THE END." Ma'AM!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE END???

Overall, absolutely fantastic read! The queen of fantasy omegaverse has struck again! 🖤🙏🏼👑

Naya (h), the prized Omega princess of the Lox Empire Naya is revered for her magical abilities and is expected to bring peace to her parents' empire, but she struggles with a haunting tragedy from her past that fills her with doubt and guilt. Despite her strong magic and combat skills, she feels unworthy of ruling without her fated mate, whom she hasn't been able to find. Akoro (H), the leader of the Sy Dynasty. is a ruthless and vengeful Alpha seeking revenge against those who destroyed his land. He kidnaps Naya to force her to help him conquer her empire, despite their destiny as true mates. As a cruel and cold-hearted captor, Akoro's treatment of Naya is harsh, creating a complex and toxic relationship. The connection between them is tumultuous, driven by intense physical attraction and Akoro's violent control. Despite Akoro's cruelty, Naya demonstrates resilience and strength, challenging him and asserting her identity even in captivity. Their relationship is marred by violence and manipulation, but glimpses of deeper emotions and shared struggles hint at a possible bond. However, these moments are overshadowed by Akoro's aggressive tactics and the looming threat of war. Ultra-hot and steamy dark Omegaverse romance with lots of violence, dub-con, torture, heats, knotting, rough sex, drama, danger, action, and more. Ends on a cliffhanger with story continuing in "Sins of His Wrath."
