Overall, Leah’s stories are decent. But the editing leaves very much to be desired. It is obvious that cut and paste was used to move text around, but never reread for continuity. A name was misspelled in the middle of the book. I could figure out this new character until I realized the name was misspelled. In the last book, a character’s name was changed from Persephone to Penelope, the the character list still said Persephone. The violence in her books is a little graphic. I would warn anyone with PTSD related to physical or sexual abuse
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Wildflower series and look forward to the next book. I was a bit disappointed in New Mercies as there were many grammatical errors, unlike previous books. There were several redundancies at times and far too many scriptures repeated. It appeared to need more editing. I love the story line and historical facts. I anxiously await the next book!
I'm going to agree with other reviews, that this book is different from the others. Pros: It had a lot more Scripture than others. Also it has a good ending. Cons: It was very slow. There was a lot of self talk and reflection. To me it was slow in several points. All in all, I liked it. Agnes and her family get a new start. Possibly a love match for her later. Trisha and Elsa take care of her dying mom. Clive rescues a native girl. I'm waiting on the next one.
This has been an exceptional series and potentially the best Christian novels I’ve ever read. Leah Banicki is an exceptional author. If you’ve never been good at talking to God and learning to pray from the heart then this series will teach you as you read the many bible verses and prayers in each chapter. I wish there were a couple more books in the series.
My heart breaks for the Indian nation and how they were treated. Thankfully there are some who will stick up for what’s right according to God’s will and purpose.
The author got mixed up. Sometimes she called Ryan a sergeant, and sometimes she called him a Lieutenant. The people in the story had several very difficult things to go through, and they relied on the Lord to get them through it
If you have suffered loss of family and friends who have caused you emotional pain and in forgiveness you need to read this book. I can see myself in the life of Elsa and Trish
Now I have to wait for the next book, So worth reading. Sadly it Really shows how things happened and the injustices on both sides that occurred. How sad
I have enjoyed this book with the built old characters and 4 story lines that move in and out thru the book. Looking,to read the 12th book in the series.
