Ugh! The irony was more of a coincidence and the editing was atrocious. I was disorientated (sic) by all the typos, misspellings, and misused words. I actually paid money for this set so I will soldier on.

I've now read three of A.J Carella's books. This has a good story line and characters that you want to care about. That said, I'm having a hard time getting past the editing. A couple of times the author referred to Jake as Kay's brother. Another sentence referred to a character as a "he" and I thought "I'm pretty sure that character is a 'she'." Punctuation is so poor that I've had to read a paragraph over to understand it. Please, A.J. Carella, get an editor. I enjoy your books, but I've got to take a break. The story gets five stars, got to mark it down one for editing.

The grammatical errors are driving me crazy, but the quick easy reads are exactly what I was looking for. Perfect summer reading.

Not quite as gripping as the last 2 in the series but still a good read.

I liked the story a lot, but the editing made me give it 3 stars. The author either needs to hire an editor or pay for a better one!

Good but disappointed by errors, still

As a massive fan of crime thrillers I'm always looking for new author's to read. I have read the first 3 of this series now and although by no means up there with Karin Slaughter or Mo Hayder they're not too bad if you're looking for something quick & easy to read. I don't know if it's because I have purchased these books on my Amazon Fire tablet rather than the actual physical book but the amount of typos and grammatical errors is shocking & very disappointing. I have never seen anything like it.

I really like this series as each book is a quick read with short chapters, the stories are interesting and I like the characters enough to care what happens to them. This book, especially, is by far the best. The turns kept coming and I actually wish this was a longer, more developed story. So, the only 2 reasons I didn't give this book 5 stars is 1.) this story is brilliant but left so much room for development and details, and 2.) what's with the obvious grammatical issues? I've seen words spelled incorrectly and double commas, and once the wrong persons name was used in a scene where he wasn't even present (Kyle was not at the cabin with Finn and James). Other than those two things, a great read and I'm anxious to start the next book.

3rd book in this particular series. Was happy with it and did not lose interest in it as I normally would with a series. The characters stay true to who they started out being. All the books in this series move pretty fast and before I knew it was at the end and wanting more. They all seem to end with a cliff hanger and while that normally annoys me, I was able to get them all on my kindle for a couple of dollars each and read all four in one group so I liked that.

Not to gory, not too sexy, not too much.

I read this book as part of the bulk series, so I had the 5 books as 1. A tiny bit predictable, IMHO, but still a fun, quick read. I liked how this author ties characters, but can concentrate on a storyline and it can run on it's own! Still intrigued and wanting to read the rest.. A couple of typos, and character mix up - just enough to notice and do a double take or reread, but nothing major and not many of them.

Brilliant series so far and each book has made me desperate to get my hands on the next one!

The only negative to this book was the odd grammar or spelling mistake that I hadn't noticed to be there in the previous two books. There was also at least one instance where the author got mixed up between characters and names the incorrect one in a situation.

Sequel just as great a page turner as the first!!!

The suspense of this novel was great! I loved that it started exactly where the first book left off. The characters were still the same as before but in this sequel some of the characters were dropped to the background while background characters from the fir's book were brought to the forefront. The add in characters gave it so much flavor and substance, I didn't want to put it down!!! A.J. Carella outdid herself so far!!! She's had me wondering who was the culprit and what kind of twists and jaw-dropping plots were on the next page!!!
