A Timely Reminder: The Messenger Life

"The Messenger Life" is a timely reminder of the beauty of God's call to represent Him in this world. It goes beyond simply asking if we have a voice, instead asking, "Am I God's voice, His messenger?" The book calls us to be genuine voices heralding God's message today.

Drawing from the life of Christ, we're reminded of the intimacy between the Father and the Son, and how Jesus spoke only what the Father showed Him or told Him. As messengers, our identity is rooted in Christ and wrapped up in sonship. Like John the Baptist, we operate outside our comfort zones, delivering God's message fearlessly and boldly.

The book is well-written and structured, exploring big thoughts about the messenger life. I appreciated the "Reflect and Activate" sections at the end of each session, which facilitated personal reflection and application. "The Messenger Life" is packed with information, Bible references, and insights on living the life we're called to.

This book requires careful attention, and I often revisited sections to absorb the message. It's best suited for believers seeking to develop the messenger life and embrace God's calling. The book poses a challenge that resonates with me: "Are we allowing God to shape us into the message He wants to communicate to the world? Are we being a voice for God in our families, workplaces, and communities?"

Do you want to represent Christ well by living boldly for God in this crazy world so that you receive that “well done, my good and faithful servant” at the end of your life? It’s not always easy to know how to do that, is it? And once you do, the thought of doing it can be a little scary. This book will teach you how to do what God wants you to do through practical steps, revelation, and insight. You’ll find yourself thinking, Oh, I can do that! It also explains a lot of the Biblical symbolism. I’ve studied the Bible for over 30 years, lived in both Jerusalem and Jericho, and yet I loved the understanding of the cultural background that I learned from Jeremiah and Theresa, as well as their instruction as to how to apply it to my own walk with Christ. I pray for God to bless you in a special way as you spend time with this book!
