Lawnflowers: A Story and a List of Names

Rate this book
I have walked countless miles of sidewalks and roadsides. I have gazed at countless acres of lawns. My favorite lawns are lawnflower lawns. Lawnflower lawns always invite my attention, capture my curiosity, and return them satiated, contented, and pleased. The presence of lawnflowers in lawns is as ancient as the presence of lawns in human culture. The Lawnflowers story speaks of that cultural heritage. So does the Lawnflowers name list. Lawnflower names are clues through which we can contemplate our ancestors impressions of the botanical world in which they were immersed. The Lawnflowers story speaks of a healthy, wholesome lifestyle different from the lifestyles most of us live today. The lawnflowers names, so poetic, describing, and intriguing, yield glimpses of a world that need not be bygone.
