She wakes with a gasp in the hospital wing. The first thing she registers is that the ragged gash across her chest has reopened, pulsing with the same searing pain as when she sustained it at the end of fifth year. The second thing—
“Granger, try to take slower breaths. I’ll have your next dose of healing potion ready soon.”
—is that Severus Snape is somehow alive.
(Or, the one where Hermione gets stuck in an Edge of Tomorrow style time loop that resets back to summer 1996 each time she dies.)
Hermione is stuck in a time loop. Each time she dies, she wakes up in the Hogwarts hospital wing being healed by Snape after being cursed by Dolohov in the DoM. a lot of plot, which was pretty impressive. Nice twist, and while it did get a bit repetitive after a while (inevitably, given the setting), it held my interest throughout. The relationship progression was believable but maybe needed a bit more angst over the age gap. Not enough smut but what is there is great.
Writing style was good. BUT HOW THE FUCK AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO ABSOLUTELY BORED OUT OF MY MIND THE ENTIRE TIME!? i read 13/19 chapters in the hopes of it getting better, because ALL the reviews are wonderful! But nope-
Was surprised by how much I enjoyed the storyline 2/3 of the book. Then it became too complicated for me to follow. I liked the lovestory but thought that Snape was a bit OOC.
