Linley had crafted the perfect life— a dazzling home, an elite social circle, and a wealthy, handsome husband who promised her everything.
Marrying Dorian Gunn should have been a dream.

But not all fairy tales end well…

Three years in, Linley’s marriage is a hollow shell. Dorian barely looks at her, their once-glamorous life reduced to icy silences and a cruel prenup demanding an heir she can’t seem to produce. Then comes the new maid—young, beautiful, and with dreams of her own.

And she’s not only there to clean. She’s here to survive.

Desperate to escape a violent boyfriend, the maid sets her sights on the one man who can save her—the rich husband—and she’ll do whatever it takes to claim him. After all, morality is a luxury she can’t afford.

In this house of whispered betrayals, no one’s hands are clean. Everyone is hiding something, and when the truth finally comes out… someone won’t make it out alive.

Whew those were some intense secrets revealed at the end of this story and I can’t wait for Book 2! Linley and Dorian appear to have it all, and appear to have the perfect marriage. In reality, there are some deeply rooted issues in this marriage and most days it feels like a business arrangement instead of true love.. when Linley hires Ana is their new maid, she begins to suspect there’s something going on between Dorian & Ana. When truths are revealed, life as they know it will forever be changed. Some of these secrets I did not see coming!

I enjoyed the alternating POVs from Linley & Ana. Overall a solid read that I would recommend for fans of domestic suspense stories. Thank you Victory Editing and NetGalley for this reader copy. All opinions are my own.

I loved this thriller! It gave me serious Frieda McFadden vibes (and that's a huge compliment, since she's my absolute favorite author and I devour her books). The characters were so well-written and believable; I found myself really invested in each one and dying to know what would happen next. I couldn’t put this book down—every page had me on the edge of my seat, eager to find out the outcome. I’m hoping for a part two so I can continue the journey with these amazing characters! A very smooth, gripping read. 5 stars. I can’t wait to read more from this talented author!

On the surface, Linley Gunn’s life is idyllic. She’s married to a wealthy, handsome man; they live in a dazzling home and host lavish dinner parties for their equally rich friends. But behind closed doors, the air is heavy with lies and resentment. Their marriage is a sham—a loveless coupling with a horrendous prenup stating that Linley must become pregnant within four years. But she repulses Dorian, and Linley is running out of time.

Being hired as the Gunns’ new maid is a foot in the door for beautiful young Ana. If she wants to leave her abusive boyfriend and prevent her father from being murdered, she needs money—a lot of it—and she knows how to get what she wants. Ana needs a wealthy man, and Dorian Gunn is an easy mark. All she has to do is parade around in her skimpy uniform and bat her eyelashes, and soon, she will be taking Linley’s place.

Linley has a secret of her own. She is hopelessly in love with her sexy gardener, but it can never be. Not if Linley wants to live indulgently and support her aging parents through financial turmoil. She has to play dutiful housewife just a little longer if she wants to outsmart Dorian.

Tensions are rising, and all these lies and indiscretions may cost someone their life. No one is safe.

“The Wife’s New Maid” by Amora Sway is a propulsive domestic thriller with suspense. Written from the perspective of a frustrated, attention-starved wife, Linley’s raw narrative pulls readers in. Like a trainwreck you cannot take your eyes from, Sway illuminates the consequences of deception and temptation in an already fragile marriage. The stakes become higher, and the players stoop lower when large sums of money are involved.

Welcome to Marigold Boulevard, where the houses are abundant, and the lawns are as perfectly manicured as the beautiful people. But inside, it is a whole different story. Sway has expertly highlighted the scandal, and dysfunction plagues the seemingly tight-knit community. Linley and Dorian aren’t the only ones giving an Oscar-worthy performance—the neighbor whose husband is gay, the mature woman sleeping with her much younger yoga instructor, the maid who comes to work with bruises on her body, and the gardener who sees everything. I loved how these various subplots added another layer to the intriguing story. Sway’s writing made me feel like I was constantly eavesdropping on a conversation I wasn’t supposed to hear (and I loved every minute of it!)

If you love reading domestic thrillers about the rich misbehaving, Amora Sway’s “The Wife’s New Maid” is for you! Led by a cast of beautiful, albeit incorrigible characters, the book is the perfect escape from the humdrum of everyday life. Moreover, the twisty, suspenseful elements will have readers voraciously reading every page, desperate to know who will succumb to a nefarious fate and who will survive.

Amora Sway’s The Wife’s New Maid is a dark, slow-burning psychological thriller dressed up in luxury, suburban charm, and a heavy coat of emotional disarray. Told through the lens of Linley, a woman who trades her independent New York life for a marriage to a wealthy, controlling hedge funder named Dorian, the novel drips with passive-aggressive tension and subtle menace. It explores the suffocating demands of a picture-perfect marriage and how little cracks, like a too-sexy maid or a fading sex life, can deepen into full-blown chaos. It’s twisted, oddly funny at times, and uncomfortably real.

I was genuinely surprised by how compelling the narrative became. The writing style is understated, yet it carries a quiet precision and a strong sense of character throughout. Linley’s voice is vulnerable, cynical, and funny in that "laugh so you don't cry" kind of way. Early on, there's this scene where she props her legs up against the wall post-coitus like it’s a team sport, just trying to conceive before a four-year prenup clause kicks in. The blend of quiet desperation and dry humor is executed with remarkable precision. It made me squirm and laugh and then feel kind of bad about laughing.

What really got under my skin was how slowly and subtly the horror unfolds. At first, it’s just awkward silences, missing affection, and a husband who’s a little too into coasters and keto muffins. But then the porn browsing, the rigid control, and the maid’s “skimpy” outfits start to add up. One moment that hit hard was when Linley finds her husband masturbating to buxom brunettes online. She doesn’t scream or confront him; she freezes, tiptoes away, and quietly screams into a pillow. That broke me a little. It’s not about shock, it’s about how many women are trained to shrink themselves in real time, even when their world is burning.

The pacing dragged a bit in places. The prose leans repetitive, and some inner monologues circle the same idea over and over with Linley’s loneliness, Dorian’s emotional constipation, and the perfect wife act. But I’ll admit, it mirrors her rut perfectly. It makes you feel like you’re right there with her, smiling at dinner parties and dying on the inside. The book club scenes are particularly well-crafted, offering a sharp and memorable portrayal of social dynamics. The passive-aggressive wine-sipping suburban wives were both hilarious and horrifying. Everyone smiles with perfect teeth, but it’s all gossip and envy under the surface.

The Wife’s New Maid is for people who enjoy thrillers that simmer rather than explode. It's for readers who want something psychological, layered, and eerily close to real life. For anyone who has ever maintained the illusion of a perfect life while quietly unraveling beneath the surface, this novel may resonate deeply, both unsettling and engrossing in equal measure.

A domestic thriller that will keep you turning the pages. Linley is working a job she detests and when she meets Dorian Gunn, she thinks all her dreams have come true. She is captivated by him; he is beyond wealthy and extremely good looking and soon they are married. But Dorian has secrets and soon the girl who was madly in love is trapped in a loveless marriage, however she is completely besotted with their gardener. Due to a prenup Linley had to sign she needs to produce children by their four-year anniversary if she wants more than two million dollars to walk away. Thanks to one of Dorian’s buddies her parents, who were also wealthy, are now on the verge of bankruptcy and Linley is trying to bail them out. And then there is the new maid, a stunning woman whom Dorian seems to be infatuated with, and the maid has her own agenda as well. Everyone is hiding something; you will question who you can trust and find yourself turning the pages quickly as you get wrapped up in these people’s lives. An entertaining read where you think you know where the story is going but you will be wrong. Recommended.

The Wife's New Maid by Amora Sway is a twisty domestic suspense about wealth and happiness, or lack of it. This book will touch on topics like racism, desire, keeping up appearances and loyalty to parents. Some parts are heart-braking and unfair, some parts just make you want to scream.
We get some thriller elements at the end but it didn't feel like a thriller.
It was so easy to read and so easy to follow the storyline that is mostly presented in present with some flashbacks from the past. To be honest, I really loved the main character Linley. She felt kind and unique, she would be a fantastic best friend!

Linley's life looks perfect from the outside but is cold and lonely from the inside. She is married to handsome, wealthy Dorian who unfortunitelly needs a wife that looks good, is well educated and knows how to be a perfect wife.
Ana comes from a different world. A world of unfairness and violence.
When Linley needs a maid, Ana feels like a perfect match. For some time Ana feels this is her lucky escape. Soon she realises this is her perfect nightmare.

This was a great domestic suspense thriller. I couldn't stop reading because I was worried for Linley and her inability to conceive within the 4 year mark that was stipulated in her prenup to her husband Dorian. On the outside, they seemed like they lived this perfect life. In front of others, they doted on each other and gave the impression that they were madly in love. But behind closed doors, Dorian was distant and cold. When Linley hires a new maid to help with the household responsibilities and then leaves for a days at a time to help her sick mother and father, things take a turn. It's pretty obvious that this is what the story was going to lead up to, but the twist wasn't expected at all.
I loved all the side characters as well. The wives book club that shared all the neighborly gossip was cute. The story was pretty fast paced and stayed pretty consistent throughout. Writing style was easy to follow. I recommend giving this one a read.

Everyone has their own motives it turns out, in this excellent suspense thriller!
The novel centres around a young husband and wife - Dorian and Linley Gunn, who married only a few years ago, however, had a marriage contract. Swept away by the prospects of becoming a mum and living in a nice house she thought things were too good to be true. But when her caring, multi million dollar husband turned into a 'cold fish' who was looking elsewhere she realised she has spent 4yrs married to a stranger in a soulless marriage. When she hires a pretty maid with problems of her own, things take a turn....
I really liked this book. I was attracted by the cover and then read the description and so then just had to read this book and it didn't disappoint!

This was a pretty standard mystery/thriller written in a style reminiscent of Freida McFadden with a housewife in an unhappy marriage torn between wanting to try to make it work and wanting to get away from it.
My biggest gripe with the story was the mystery element, which I personally found lacking. It was far too predictable and the anticipated twist was not shocking at all. Other than that I found it to be an interesting insight into the character's mind even though many of Linsley's actions had me wanting to shake some sense into her. The parallels between Linsley and Ana's situations were a nice touch too, despite having vastly different lives.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Crazy and unpredictable. I was on the edge of my seat and didn't know who to trust. Linley was likeable and very sincere. You couldn't help but feel for her about her marriage. I loved all the gossip between the wives at bookclub and trying to appear perfect. A great story that will keep you guessing till the very end!

This book is a mystery/thriller about a woman who is not happy in her marriage, although she is financially set because of it. She wants out but needs the money to help her parents. A whole lot of drama unfolds involving the maid, the gardener, the neighbors, and some bad business decisions. It’s a quick read, but a little predictable.

A loveless marriage, a new beautiful maid, a devious plan and murder. This novel kept me wanting to keep reading. Dorian is a wealthy work acholic that is not affectionate and wants a trophy wife. A prenup agreement that states Linley needs to be pregnant by year 4. This is truly a page turner.

Not a book I would recommend

I had high hopes for this book. It was too much. Once I thought I knew where it was going it kept turning. It would have been better if it was shorter and everyone didn’t have something to explain about themselves to help the plot.

I just finish this domestic, psychological thrill, The Wife's Maid by Amora Sway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

This book was a guick page turning thriller. The characters were well thought out, and the plots and twists kept me interested. A loveless marriage, wealth, a maid and a gardener. Who really did it?

A blub about the book:
"In this house of whispered betrayals, no one’s hands are clean. Everyone is hiding something, and when the truth finally comes out… someone won’t make it out alive."
