Nina never dreamed a world of shape shifters could exist. Killian never dreamed he’d fall in love with a human. Neither of them ever expected their love would make them targets of a vicious shifter cult. Together, they’ll have to find a way to protect Gemini Island from destruction! Rosanna Leo is pleased to bring you Predator’s Fire, Book 5 of her passionate romance series, Gemini Island Shifters.
When Nina Suzuki discovers the body of her best friend Janine, her world turns upside down. Things go from bad to worse when Janine’s corpse seems to transform into that of a large, brown wolf. For the first time, Nina is faced to confront all the clues indicating her BFF was not what she seemed. A letter from the dead woman opens Nina’s eyes to a strange, new world. The same letter warns of a sinister group called the Alpha Brethren, and urges her to find Killian Moon of the Ursa Fishing Lodge and Resort on Gemini Island.
Killian Moon is a jaguar shifter and teen mentor at the Ursa Lodge in Northern Ontario. He may be a comfort and inspiration to confused teen shifters, but he also has a fiery past. His past comes back to haunt him when human Nina arrives at the resort, demanding to speak with him. Demanding answers. Can he trust her with knowledge that will not only change her life, but possibly endanger those around him?
As Killian begrudgingly tutors Nina on all things shifter, their mutual curiosity flares into passionate need. Once they touch, once they succumb to desire, there is no going back. Killian realizes Nina is his mate and they both begin to comprehend the terror threatening those on their shifter-friendly island. He is forced to confront the tragedy in his family and determines to protect Nina at all costs.
But can they protect everyone they love from a cult of dangerous shifters, intent on horror and destruction?

Rosanna Leo hits yet another book out the park with Predator's Fire. This book had it all. A hot alpha male. A sassy, can protect her own dang self, female. Smoking hot passion. Intrigue. And action. Lots and lots of action. Where the other Gemini Island books were good and had their own action of a fashion, Predator's Fire kicks up the tension and the action with the addition of the Alpha Brethren plot. AB's were an evil cult led by a deranged leader who believed in keeping shifter races pure and purging the evil (i.e. humans turned shifter) from the world. And that's where our hero, Killian Moon *dreamy sigh* comes in. Killian is connected to the Alpha Brethren by bloodlines. Killian and all the other boys of Gemini ban together to fight against the threat. Nina's, Killian's mate, is no shrinking violet and I love it. She fights right along with the boys and shows them that girl power is THE power. LOL I love what she does for Killian in regard to his parents. The girl is fieeeeeeerce!
If you love shifter books, I highly recommend this series because it is sexy, fun, and GOOD!
*I received a copy of Predator's Fire in exchange for an honest review*
For me, Predator's Fire had a bit of a different feel to the fun books that came before it. Not that this is a dark read or anything but the story arc with the villain August Crane has a darker tone than I expected. I'm looking forward to seeing where this plot goes in the next book(s).
At the risk of sounding like a fangirl I love everything about RL's writing. There is always great chemistry between the main characters, the dialogue is natural and the pacing was spot on. Her books aren't overly complicated, but after reading some complex UF books lately I was in the mood for a more straight forward sexy read with a glass of wine beside me. I loved the banter with the previous couples and seeing their lives moving on, and to be honest this is one of my favourite things about the book/series. As is watching the hero fight the fated "mate bond" and then succumb to it. I don't know why I find that so satisfying, but I do.
I love my tortured heroes and Killian ticked all the boxes, so Nina was the perfect soft to his hard edges created by his abusive past. I was loving the story until about 90% when I got seriously worried but I shouldn't have doubted (sorry, Rosanna, I won't do it again) because it was all good in the end.
While this may be a stand alone I highly recommend reading the first books - not just because they are great reads, but I think the close relationships add more to the story. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a great shifter PNR that is as hot as it is sweet. I can't wait to read more - especially now that I see a ménage book looming in the horizon with some sexy jaguar shifters? Rawr!
I have been impatiently waiting for Killan Moons book and here we are back to Ursa Fishing lodge on Gemini Island. This book really took me by surprise I have to say, in and awesomely good way. This book stand out in this series as the author took some new steps in this universe that I personally absolutely love. This book is much darker and has a gruesome back story that had me on pins and needle's to the last line.
In this book we finally meet the super hot Killian Moon, I have been dying to get my hands on his story. He must be the hottest man in two shoes and he is in my PNR harem. He fits my taste in men to a T, blond, tall, Jaguar, fit and super HOT. He has EVERYTHING a girl want everything!!!
Nina Suzuki was a heroine with a capital H, she is strong, has humor, and is all over one awesome chick. No wonder Killian falls head over heals with her. If I were into girls I would be too. She don't take shit from anyone and is on top of that as brave as they come. Nina is a dog groomer and her love of animals makes me like her even more.
Overall I absolutely loved the story in this book. The writing was amazing and I love Rosanna Leo`s warm humor. For me this must be the best book she has written to this date and I could hardly put it down. The story had a fast beat and had my attention from first to last page. We also meet Killian`s twin brothers, and I hope we meet them in a book real soon. I am jumping up and down in inpatient glee to meet the kick ass girl that can take on the two of them as a mate. Good lawd that will be one awesome book I bet and I want it NOW!!! I am willing to go to Canada to make lots and lots of Coffee extra caffeine and nutella cake and cookies to too Mrs Leo so she works super duper fast. I am even willing to do some growling and a little worshiping! Large words for the Viking woman.
5 nutella stars.

Great story, with well defined characters and diverse interactions. It appeals as a series that is light hearted while providing a good deal of suspense without over powering you. :) Cannot wait to finish this series!
I'm a huge fan of The Gemini Island Series and have been anxiously awaiting the release of tihs novel and Rosanna Leo didn't let me down. In fact, she actually upped the ante by adding high intrigue to the story arc.
We have met Killian our hero in a few of the previous novels but in a lot of ways this book could be read as a stand a lone even though there are characters that appeared in the previous books you don't need to know their stories to understand this novel.
AS expected Killian met his mate on at the Ursa Lodge, I think me saying they met and mated is not spoiling the story and this follows the formula of the other stories in the series where the wonderful characters is what makes them so different from each other. RL is a master at creating lovable, relatable shifter characters..but where this novel sets it's self apart is that it really ramped up the intrigue and introduced a protagonist that will take the entire series to anew level. This is a truly genius move on RL's part to keep the series fresh and create a bit more edge to it.
I suspect that the next novel will be Connor's unless we get to know more of the Hungarian Tigers that made an appearance in this novel. I'm so curious as to where we will be taken and hope RL ramps up the suspense and edge in the next one and of course name a character after me LOL....
I give this novel a 4.5 star rating and a HIGH recommendation, I challenge anyone not to fall in love with the shifters of Gemini Island. Give yourself a treat and meet your next book boyfriend..just remember Ryland is mine!
This book was awesome, Rosanna Leo sure knows how to satisfy her readers. If you're in the mood to read a hot and sexy paranormal romance with shifters, fiery passion, and some suspense?! One-click this one TODAY!!
Our leading lady Nina gets a sort of crash-course-run-down of the whole shifter world when her best friend suddenly ends her life; leaving Nina a letter with instructions to find a man named Killian Moon, and to warn him about some people who call themselves 'The Alpha Brethren'.
Oooooh Killian Moon, and all of the other hot shifter men on Gemini Island...Ryland, Soren, even Connor, the infamous unmated mountain lion shifter – who by the way in my book, will probably be next in line for the ole ball and chain after hearing all about how great mated sex is from his friends – are all so dreamy. It's no wonder Nina had stars in her eyes when she saw Killian, but the girl can sure hold her own! She is a feisty cat, for sure, and even more so when she and Killian become mated.
I really enjoyed this book and the witty/sexy banter Killian and Nina had with each other. Not only did the book have A LOT of steamy well-written scenes, but it was also packed with action and suspense. I did not envy Killian and his twin brothers for the way they were raised, and was happy with the outcome by the end of the book. Also, by how the author describes Killian's twin brothers, and their relationship status, it'll be interesting when they both find their mate...and by that, I mean 1 female to share. Kinky =P !!
On a side note, I did love Nina's totally awesome boss, Krystle! How cool was she to give Nina a much needed vacation?!!!
This is the fifth book in the Gemini Island series and follows along the same path as the other books have done so far. We meet Nina who becomes mate to the gorgeous jaguar (not leopard... Haha) Killian.
I thought that this book need a little more details in parts with Nina and Killian's relationship developing very fast I would have liked a to see the relationship evolve a little more so as a reader I would get to see that, and her parents acceptance of shifters was very easy in the book (very glossed over and not a part of the book that was well developed at all).
Although this book I found a little lacking don't get me wrong it was a fantastic read and I liked Killian's brothers (and hope they get their own stories) and I loved the scene where Anton's men are teaching the females how to fight and get beaten by the women folk! I also loved the introduction of a different little story with Killian and his two brothers and the Alpha Brethren - I can see it continuing with the twins stories until they succeed in bringing down these new enemies.
Overall it was a really enjoyable and fast read if you haven't read this series before you should start at the beginning because the other books are just as good and you will meet the couples from previous books in this one!
YOWZA....Killian is one smoking hot Jaguar shifter. Is it bad that even though he is described as blond and shown as blond on the cover that I still kept picturing my favorite Killian...Captain Hook, also known as Colin O'Donoghue. *sighs* What can you do.
Killian and Nina are a hot little couple. I also loved her very understanding parents. This book has an interesting turn in the action since the author has brought in a rogue group called the Alpha Brethren. This is a group of pureblood shifters lead by a psycho man named Augustus Crane. What a first class A-whole...reminds me of a shifter Hitler. They don't like the idea of shifters mating with humans and are out to stop this happening. They lead Nina's friend, a wolf shifter to commit suicide and she goes to Killian for answers.
It was great having so many of the previous players from other Gemini Island books in this installment.
I am really looking forward to Percy & Byron's book.
Rosanna Leo is such a gifted writer. I adore Gemini Island series. Killian and Nina are so great together. And you get to visit with Ry and Lia and the other couples. I highly recommend this book!!!
Predator's Fire is my first read in the Gemini Island Shifters series, and I really loved it. Rosanna Leo did a great job - I never felt lost or like I had fell into the middle of a series. And if you like shifters, then you definitely need to visit Gemini Island.
Killian is the hero, and he is really something else. There is so much to this man, he probably could have filled up two books. I really found him quite enjoyable, even when he was a bit of a surly jaguar. Sexy and caring, stealthy and just plain awesome. I love how he isn't looking for love, but when Nina shows up, his jaguar really puts him in his place so that he realizes she's his mate.
As for Nina, she's a spitfire of a woman. Fresh from the death of her best friend, she is looking for answers, and the questions lead her right to Killian. Nina has definitely got flare. I loved the woman. She was a perfect heroine, and even though she is human, I think she is a great compliment to Killian's temperament.
If you are new to Gemini Island, like I was, you will be happily surprised to find all kinds of shifters there. Eagles, bears, jaguars, wolves. I love when all the shifters are together, it adds a bit more of a surprise and leaves you wondering who is what. As for the island itself, I love the premise. It's basically a resort for shifters. But there is mentoring for younger shifters, which Killian is very much involved in. The whole island really felt like a very large family, and you could feel the care and love between them.
As for the bad guy - he is really super bad. I had no problem hating him. Well hell, multiple bad guys - and I had no problem hating any of them. Rosanna Leo wrote them perfectly, they got no sympathy from me for any horrible acts.
The whole book was fast paced and interesting. It swung all the way from exciting to very sexy (terrific heat levels!!!), to dangerous and back. I think any PNR fan will love it. I'm excited to read more from this series and get a closer look at some of the characters I met in Predator's Fire
Before I get started on Predator's Fire I have to say for some reason that I can't explain, (I am still scratching my head ) I didn't read Predator's Claim the 4th book, Charolete and Bart's story which I will amend post haste. Even thou I missed it I don't think it effect my absolute enjoyment of Predator's Fire.
It starts with Nina discovering the body of her best friend Janine, and then things go from bad to worse with introduction of sinister group called the Alpha Brethren and let's throw in some psycho parents as well. Meanwhile Killian realizes Nina is his mate and Nina has to learn and come to terms with all things shifter. We also have twin brothers that I want more of(can't wait). I have to say that I absolutely love Rosanna Leo writing style. She tells such beautifully stories, they are vivid, sweet, intense and let's not forget very sexy. They grab you and draw you in and you feel like you are part of their story, and Predator's Fire absolutely hits every one of those marks for me.
The characters, the steam, the wonderful plot and the humour all makes for a fantastic novel. I really love it when all the past characters are still part of a fantastic story. If you haven't tried Rosanna Leo books you are missing out in a big way. For me her stories are more enjoyable than watching T.V.

I loved this book and pray there will be loads more in the series! The reason for Killian and Nina meeting was a very sad one as her friend Jillian had committed suicide to escape a worse fate at the hands of the Alpha Brethren. She was given Killian's name in Jillian's suicide note and travelled to Gemini Island to find him and pass on Jillian's warning that the Alpha Brethren were coming.
Killian resisted at first because of his parents affiliation with the Alpha Brethren and because of being on their radar along with his brothers Percy & Byron cause he feared what they would do if they learned he'd mated a human. I was glad when he decided to take a risk with Nina cause they were great together! Hearing Killian's childhood story before he took refuge with the Snow family was heart breaking and made me want to beat the crap out of his parents! I love how Nina helped to ease the pain of his past.
There was some good news in the book regarding favourite characters but some bad news regarding the resort. I also loved the little we seen of Killian's brothers! This story arc is not finished as the Alpha Brethren along with their psycho leader August Crane are still out there and coming for the residents of Gemini Island, the Moon brothers in particular. I can't wait for Percy & Byron's book to see what happens next and if they stop the Alpha Brethren once and for all!
Predator's Fire is the fifth book in the Gemini Shifters series by author Rosanna Leo. I really was looking forward to reading this new installment to the Gemini series. I have loved all I have read so far, and this book does not disappoint at all. Nina has no idea what her best friend is, that is until she dies and sees her partially shifted body. I like that even though Nina is shocked she is also brave. She goes off to find answers and she will not stop till she has them. I like her bravery very much. A soft character with a steel back bone. She is strong enough to face what is to come. She will have to draw on that strength to face what is to come. Killian is used to tutoring young troubled shifters. Having Nina around changes everything for him in more ways than one. I like the character of Killian he is brave, strong, and completely alpha. His strength blends with the softness in Nina to create a very memorable couple. I like how Ms Leo brings amazing chemistry, action, and adventure to make a really unforgettable story. This book delivers in everything you really want in a great story, heart, soul, and a great storyline. I highly recommend this story, and I recommend reading this series in order. Not because you have too but it gives an extra layer to the reading experience.
Just as Killian and Nina begin to realize what they mean to each other, they both begin to comprehend the terror threatening those on their shifter-friendly island in this captivating paranormal romance. Spine tingling tension builds throughout the story as danger escalates from an insane shifter who thinks he’s top dog or something (I’m trying really hard not to say what I think he’s top of) and Killian is forced to deal with his past that may take more from him than he can give…it’s a good thing he has Nina. There is never a dull moment in this story and I was enthralled from the very beginning with the captivating Gemini Island Shifters, the suspense, the passion and some charming fun along the way that spiced things up nicely, so needless to say I am very much looking forward to reading the next one.
I haven't read the other books in this series and yet, it didn't detract from the story. Instead, it made me want to read the others. Killian was a perfect blend of Alpha male and total sweetie when it came to his mate. I loved the banter between Killian and Nina especially when they first met. The glimpses of the other mated couples intrigued me and as a lover of series, I'm happy they showed up. I love it when previous couples take part in a story. The overall arc of the story, well, I'm dying to know what else will happen. This doesn't end on a cliffhanger and everything wraps up. All I can say is "When is the next book?!"
Received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
i loved this book it was awesome i absolutely loved the story of Nina who found her best friend dead her friend was being hunted by a group called the alpha brethren a group of shifers who dont wish to pollute the shifter race with humans Nina is a human and her friend leaves a note saying to go to Gemini island and find Killian Moon and tell him that the alpha brethren are coming ironically when Nina meets killian his jauguare knew she was his mate although they fight their attractoin they cant deny they are made for each other and know neither are safe while kiilian and Nina get together forever? will the alpha brethren kill Nina and killian? 5 gold stars for an amazing story
So sad to realize that I have read the final book in this series...for now, anyway.
Nina Suzuki drops by her friend's house for a visit. But the surprise is on her when she finds her friend's lifeless body. She watches in shock as her best friend's body seems to change into that of a large wolf. When she finds a suicide note, it leads her to Killian Moon on Gemini Island.
She goes there, looking for answers.
But what she finds is the kind of love that she has never known.
I was ecstatic to discover on Ms. Leo's website that she is currently writing the next book in this captivating series, and I am anxiously anticipating the next chapter.
Great addition the this series. Loved Killian and Nina together. Had some villains I could really hate. Love being with old friends from prior books too. Was really hoping The Alpha Brotherhood would get wiped out but guess will have to wait for the next book. At least Killian's parents finally got what they deserved and was so happy to see he let Nina be a part of it with him. Hurry up with the next one Rosanna.
emotionally charged would be how this book felt. there is the standard mate love thing happening. of course there are great sex scenes. the thing included in this one is a n abusive past that rears its ugly and crazy head. I like that the Nina is strong but also a bit wary of this new world. I also like that Rosanna did not let her heroine go through with the epically stupid thing she was going to do. fun and fast read. do it.
Wow could not wait for this one to come out and and sit up most of the night reading it because I could not put it down , if you have not read the Gemini Island Shifter series start reading it , they are amazing ... five stars all the way :)
They just keep getting better and better! I loved this book! The poor Moon brothers. I felt so sorry for them. Nina was an amazing heroine and Killian was her perfect match. I couldn't put it down and yet I didn't want it to end!
This was such a good story about Nina and Killian. This was a great shape shifter story. Killian is skeptical about the whole mate thing and Nina has no clue about shape shifters until her friend dies. I couldn't put this book down and am looking forward to see what happens next.
These stories on Gemini Island continue to entertain me. Nina, a human finds herself in an unimaginable world of shifters especially when she comes to Gemini Island for answers about her best friend Janine from Killian Moon who so happened to be a jaguar shifter. Answers is what she got and Killian is forced to face his past, and boy what a story. I was glued to the pages. I loved their passion.
