Kaylee is naturally skeptical of anything out of the ordinary, but on this laundry day, she discovers there’s far more than the standard settings for her washer and dryer, and she can’t help but take them for a spin.
Bria and Qzell find themselves forced into a difficult position when magic and science collide, but soon find there are a few perks to their new situation.
Laundry day has never been so much fun.
Agitated is book 11 in the Kyleverse, a series of sentient object romance short stories. Kyle isn't the main character, but he shows up to help the plot in one way or another. The stories are sequential, but can be read as standalones.
Agitated is a sentient object romance with explicit material. It is intended for 18+ readers.
Nicole Parker is the author of creative and humorous romance stories. She is a 30-something California native who spends the great majority of her free time writing books, reading books, or organizing her ever growing TBR list. She also has a spouse, some kids, and pets, but this isn't about them. Nicole's books are funny, raunchy, silly, and most importantly full of good vibes and happy endings.
Of course it tastes like that. I hope the author has as much fun speculating about how to have sex with a washer/dryer combo as my friends and I do. This seemed a quicker read than some of the others, but it opens up a whole new galaxy of possibilities. Kyle: still perfect.
Appliance aliens anyone? The Kyleverse is back and better than ever with a dash of *gasp* ALIENS!! Yep that's right! Kaylee gets more than she bargained for when two aliens disguise themselves asher washer and dryer. Bex and Pogs are there to err assist? Add to chaos more like it. Kyle is there to lend a helPEEN hand of course. A wild ride with some of your faves!
Forking eggplants!! I have been staring at my kindle, just absolutely speechless since finishing this book. Agitated is incredibly insane, hilarious and so, super hot!! Have you ever thought “Well frankfurters! That laundry’s got me extra hot and bothered, should I bang the dryer now?” If yes, read this immediately. If no, read this immediately so you can start thinking that too. The Kyleverse is one of my favorite series ever and I didn’t think it could get any better by adding aliens into the community!! Bria & Qzell are just what Kaylee needs; sexy aliens and hot appliances. I’m hoping to meet some more of their otherworldly friends soon. I also loved that Pogs was back!! And of course Kyle was just as helpful, hot and supportive as always. You seriously can’t go wrong with Agitated!

Note: This ARC was given to me for free by the author and I am reviewing this book voluntarily.
After a messy break up, who knew doing the laundry would relieve so much..Tension? Kyle might know a thing or two about that!
From the author that brought you “Objectified: Kyle's Version”, Nicole Parker does it again with this eleventh installment in the comedic Sentient Romance series “Kyleverse”! Did I need a sentient object my romance that involved a washer and dryer… nope.
Do I know feel cheated that I have boring normal appliances…YES.
My thoughts:
-Once again Author Nicole Parker manages to shock me in the best of ways -This was a super short and super spicy little monster read -The world this author has created is by far one of the most entertaining ones that I have read! -I loved the little twist of how the MMCs ended up in their situation -The FMC and her entire monologue (internal and external) is so entertaining -And can I just say I mean by far hands down best appliances …all these transforming parts… IYKYK… -AND we can’t forget the MVP Kyle… I mean we all could use a friend like him in our lives! -I just love this little series… it’s so fun to read!
I will never look at my washer and dryer the same way again. “Are you doing laundry? …Or is your laundry doing you?”
Nicole Parker has officially spun me out with this one. Aliens? Check. Sentient appliances? Double check. A throuple with Bria (dryer), Qzell (washer), and Kaylee (human hot mess)? Toss me in with Kyle, set it to hot, and let’s agitate.
From the moment the “appliances” started talking, I was tumbling with laughter. The puns? Spotless. The steam? Practically set off my smoke alarm. And of course, Kyle made his glorious return—because no Kyleverse tale is complete without him pressing all the right buttons.
I soaked up every page. If you’re looking for something that’s unhinged in the best way, a little sudsy, and a whole lotta steamy, throw this book in your TBR and let it cycle to the top.
Nicole, please never stop writing whatever this genre is. I’m detergently obsessed.
Five stars. Would definitely let alien appliances ruin my plumbing again. Thanks to Nicole for providing a copy for me to read!
This was my first venture into the Kyleverse, and while Agitated works just fine as a standalone, I do think reading the earlier books would’ve given me more context—and probably made this even more fun. There’s clearly a chaotic, magical thread running through the whole series, and now I’m curious to see what I’ve missed.
Bria and Qzell, aliens disguised as a sentient washer and dryer, are charmingly awkward and surprisingly sweet. Kaylee, the skeptical FMC, grounds the story—though it was quite something to follow her as she actually listens when her appliances start suggesting things way outside the normal spin cycle, leading her into some steamy moments.
And of course, Kyle makes his appearance, which I am guessing is why this is called the "Kyleverse", but he nudges the plot along with the kind of energy that makes me think he’s got a hand in far more than he lets on.
Thank you to Nicole Parker for the ARC—your imagination is unhinged in the best way, and now I absolutely have to go back and read where the rest of the Kyleverse was before this.
WHY IS DOING LAUNDRY SUDDENLY HOT???? NICOLE, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME???
That's it.....that's my review. I have nothing left to give since my brain is tied up in an EXISTENTIAL CRISIS
For real, though, Agitated is fun! Nicole always comes up with new ways to surprise me, and I liked that this one was a little different than the others! Kaylee certainly seemed to handle things a little better this go round, though I suppose once you've been exposed to the strange and unusual, each time after gets a bit easier.
And gods bless Kyle 😂 he's out here living his best life and solving problems one fun flavoured release at a time!
I'm super curious about Keggy now; will they make a reappearance?? Something interesting to think about while I bemoan not having any sentient objects (appliances or otherwise) in my life
I thoroughly enjoyed this sentient object romance. I'm always so intrigued by these books. The absolute genius way this book was written. Nicole, if I can ever pick your brain, I would be so honored, haha. I'm immediately reading the rest of the series now.
If you're ever curious about a washing machine and dryer sentient object romance, look no further!
“Holy smokes. I just came doing laundry.”
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Is this sci-f? Well, it involves aliens, so maybe... Whatever the genre Nicole Parker has done it again, presenting us with another crazed sentient object romance that is hotter and sweeter than it has a right to be. Qzell and Bria are aliens who crash land after the chaos of the town makes the magnetic fields too much for their ship. They end up in Kaylee's house disguised (and stuck) as a washer and dryer. Once Kaylee realizes that her washer and dryer are sentient all the sexy shenanigans begin, including an interlude with Kyle of course. Will our alien friends ever find a way to restore their bodies? Will Kaylee accept her new alien boyfriends? Will anyone buy that they are Canadian? Of course they will, but it is fun reading it happening.
💕 Quotes that gave me a chuckle💕 - So just hurry up, show yourself, and explain why the fuck my dryer is moaning.” - Idon’t think I’ve ever blown my lint that hard before. ✨✨Onto the Review✨✨ I always know when I read a Nicole Parker book I’m going to have a delightful time and I’m also gonna be side eyeing something in my house. When Nicole posted that there were ARC sign-ups for this book I ran to her 🔗🌳 to realize I was already on her ARC team 🤣 I loved the concept of this book so much! I can’t go too much into detail without spoiling the whole plot but just know this was a fun time and includes some of my favorite beings, aliens. I also cheered when Kyle came into the story, I’ve grown quite attached to Kyle! If you want a great sentient being romance series to read and want something that is a good pallet cleanser between books definitely go check out Nicole’s books they’re available on kindle unlimited! Agitated comes out May 23rd and is a good time from start to finish 😉
At this point, I’ve stopped asking Nicole Parker why. I just buckle up, hydrate, and accept that I’m about to emotionally invest in something that I probably shouldn’t.
In Agitated, Kaylee finds herself entangled in an unholy mix of romance, and complete chaos with two electrical objects. (No spoilers, but let’s just say your appliances may start looking different after this.)
I did not expect to be emotionally invested in an aliens turned sentient electrical objects romance, but here we are. Nicole Parker has once again taken the most unhinged premise and somehow made it heartfelt, hilarious, and strangely romantic. What shouldn’t work, romantically bonding with household items somehow does. The emotional stakes? Real. The existential questions? Many. The steam level? Slightly dangerous. 🔥⚡️
Nicole balances absurdity with sincerity like a literary gymnast. It’s unhinged, yes, but also smart, self-aware, and genuinely romantic in a “how is this making me feel things??” kind of way.
Nicole Parker you dirty girl!! This was insane and so fun! Kaylee is a lucky bishh It was way different than her other stories for me! I kept getting confused between Q3ell and Bria but it was sexy as hell! They kinda gave me Jumba and Pleakly vibes 😂 but sexier! I also just saw the new Lilo & Stitch so could be wishful thinking!
Also reading on my boring ass B&W kindle does not do the art justice! I always look at my phone to see the art because it’s just so perfect! Cute little cartoon guys, but what they do is far from cute 🥵 loved it!
If you’re new to the Kyleverse, I would recommend reading Heat to fully appreciate some references made in this story. However, as with the rest of the books in this series, you won’t be completely lost if you choose this to be your first introduction to Kyle & Co. I appreciated the author’s international inclusion of new friends from the north and the different approach to the sentient nature of the characters.
This book was fun and flirty as usual. I enjoyed finding out just what fun features a washing machine and dryer can have these days.
This is a whole new twist for the Kyleverse and I am here for it. Kaylee, who previously fainted due to the paranormal happenings at Friendsgiving (read Heat for more details), suddenly finds herself with two aliens stuck in the form of her washer and dryer (aliens who seem more interested in making her dirty than cleaning her laundry). Kyle makes an appearance to be helpful in his own way 😉 and good times ensue. Qzell, Bria, and Kaylee make an adorable throuple and I love how unfazed the entire town is to all the strange happenings. Another wonderfully weird addition to the Kyleverse!
I've always wanted to see Kyle DO laundry, and it was everything I hoped for and more!!! Things get weird and messy - there's d!cktergent squirting all over the place, lint blowing everywhere, and I'm pretty sure no laundry actually got done! I would NOT want to be the person to clean that room up afterwards! Overall, it's a fast cycle read that's sure to have you in a spin and bubbling up with laughter. I loved it!
Another fantastic romp in the Kyleverse down and I still need so many more. The FMC Kaylee (you met her previously in Heat) is a little wary of the magical weirdness that goes on in this town. She sure hops on board for when she hears her washer and dryer moan though, and can you blame her? She's got two aliens stuck as sentient objects that she gets to take for a spin. Bex is also in this one and she's hilarious. I really can't wait for her to get a book.
This book was a riot of a good time. Fast paced, easy to read, hysterical, and spicyyyy. It had me questioning things, side eyeing my washer and dryer, and stopping to ponder for a good ten minutes exactly how "fresh and mildy floral like lavender" could taste good.
This was another great edition to the kyleverse, and dear lord. The life that man lives!
Two aliens (or Canadians??) + a washer and dryer + Kyle = lots of fun.
Qzell and Bria are two aliens that crash land on earth and end up stuck in the form of Kaylee’s washer and dryer. Kaylee discovers her washer and dryer are sentient and things get sexy. Oh and Kyle is there to lend a helping “hand”. 😜
I never thought about my washer and dryer in a sexual way but I’ll never be able to look at them the same that’s for sure.
Thanks for another fabulously entertaining read Nicole!
I’d despise laundry a lot less if I had a sentient washer and dryer… just sayin. Agitated is a fun ride with hilarious puns and some out of this world spice. Kaylee, our FMC who we previously met in Heat at Friendsgiving, is still trying to come to terms with the sentient object world. But when she discovers she’s living with her own sentient objects that take her for a wild ride… With a little help from Kyle, she quickly decides she can get on top of, er, on board with this.
typical kyleverse but make it aliens. this was such a fun and steamy story with kaylee getting it on with her washer and dryer — who are actually aliens. bria and qzell are so hot and of course, kyle joins in on the fun. i always have a blast reading these books. nicole parker never disappoints
What has the Kyleverse long been missing? Well if you answered 2 aliens disguised as a washer and dryer then you'd be right. Frankly this is the best thing to happen to me since Spatha popped out a butt, Quinton Splooged green apple, and Kyle told his version. Go read this book for you because its freaking hysterical and then read it again for me so I can get more of that four eyed hotty Bria
Agitated is a raunchy and hilarious story about FMC Kaylee who gets it on with her washer and dryer, Bria and Qzell. This sentient object romance is light hearted and full of humor, it literally had me giggling the whole time. Nicole Parker’s Kyleverse is definitely worth a read, it is so unique and will take you on a wild ride!
I did not expect to be side-eyeing my washer and dryer like this… but here we are. Nicole Parker has me listening for different hums, different cycles, wondering if my Whirlpool has feelings. I never knew doing laundry could be this arousing. This book is hilarious, surprisingly tender, and somehow incredibly hot??? I am unwell. Send help. Or a matching dryer.
A quick break from the overall plot! Bria and Qzell are precious, and entirely dote on Kaylee immediately. No plot all vibes, just what the dr ordered.
Yes if: You've ever enjoyed the vibrations
No if: You hate lavender
🧺 aliens stuck as washing machine and dryer 🪫 Magical Interference 🛸 MFM 🪻 Demon Cat
Hilarious as always! I love Kyle and the entire Kyleverse. This book had me cackling between the character’s goofy banter and the laundry-dick puns. It’ll be a while before I’ll get pod rod or dicktergent out of my head 😂 glad to see an appearance from Pog after the Friendsgiving fiasco 🤣
Get ready for an out of this world experience! Just when I thought Nicole has covered it all, she surprises me yet again by adding some sci-fi into the mix!! And what a fun time it was. Get ready for a cosmically fun time with Qzell, Bria, Kaylee and of course (who could forget) Kyle! Another fun addition to this crazy town of character, you will not be disappointed in this one!
