She married her high school sweetheart and has a beautiful and growing family. When not writing, she enjoys sunny California beaches, bowling on a Valley Girls team, sipping delicious Mocha Lattes or going on “date” nights of dinner and a movie with her hero-like husband.
Meh. It starts out very promising with Cassie bumping into Jake, the boy who stood her up in high-school (because he has issues) during the wedding of her ex-boyfriend. She ends up taking Jake as her date to show the world that she isn't moping about the ex-boyfriend, only she gets more than she bargained for, and they have a night of hot 'n steamy sex.
Later it turns out that Jake lives at the same ranch Cassie her new job is. It could have moved on very well from there, let them work through their issues, but unfortunately we get the surprise accidental pregnancy, and it all went down from there.
I would've liked a longer ending on this novel but the ending did make me smile. I love the fact that hard headed Jake finally got it together for Cassie.
Description The passionate encounter with a compelling cowboy a championship rodeo rider was completely out of character for the strait–laced Cassie Munroe. She thought she could walk away from it from him without a backward glance. But then she encountered him again, on a secluded Nevada ranch, and realized she was carrying his child....
Jake Griffin wasn't the kind of man a woman could expect to settle down. And yet he wanted to marry her, strictly for the sake of the baby. But she was coming to realize that she wanted so much more than this hard, solitary man was offering her and she couldn't bring herself to settle for less....
Enjoyed Jake and Cassie's second chance, unexpected consequences story. Poor Cassie didn't know what it felt like to be with a guy who truly wanted her, would love her, and treat her as if she was his world. I felt so badly for Jake and the way he grew up without family. It was wrong of Jake's dad, John T to wait so long to find him and the reasons behind his search. Loved Lottie and her unquestionable support of Cassie. Fun, quick read.
