Second chance romance.
I enjoyed this story.
It’s the start of a heart warming family series .
It has good humour between siblings and also arguments. It’s also sad .
Starts with Hayden’s and Heath splitting up. They have known each other since they were young.
After the death of the Fitzpatrick father. Heath finds life hard. This close family have issues with Heath treatment of Hayden.
Good likeable character. Making you want to know more about the family.
I enjoyed this story.

Was für ein Buch. Von vorne bis hinten durch gesuchtet. 🥰😍 Auch wenn sich Heath wie ein Riesen großes „A..“, aufgeführt hat, habe ich ihn und Hayden und dessen Familie gleich ins Herz geschlossen. 💕

I debated. The good parts were really good, but there were some grammar/editing errors that bugged me and some of the dialogue was odd sometimes as well.
The hero was a total douche at times and the heroine a bit of a doormat (although since they have been together SO long, I get why she cut him so much slack)...then she goes from church-going mild woman to an F-bomb dropping mean girl/ninja on a couple minor characters. I guess it just felt a little bipolar at times.

I liked that this had a different premise to most contemporary romances. Usually there is a bit of 'will they, won't they', then the couple get together and then they have a fall out and finally get back together.
This starts AFTER the break up and they aren't a couple for most of the story. Hayden put up with a lot from Heath, but then he was the love of her life, and until recently was going to be her forever, so it was believable. Heath was clearly not in a good place but wouldn't admit it. I really couldn't tell how this would play out, and was surprised several times through the book - it definitely isn't predictable.
Both the main characters and supporting characters are well written and developed. The plot flowed smoothly and the book was easy to read. The author conveyed emotion well and really drew me into the story. It is almost difficult read as it deals with a lot of negative emotion for the majority of the book, rather than love and flowers. However it is a wonderful read and very worthwhile just because it is so NOT run of the mill.
I would definitely read more by this author and will check out other books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

OMG
I love this series!! Like, really, I'm in love with these hot Irish men living in Boston.
The family is adorable! Yeah, sometimes I'm not in favour of their fighting habits and I am not so sure if it's really so great if you're direct, like all the time.
But there is Hayden, a great teacher and a lovely girlfriend. Her past has had it for her. And now there is her fiancé who wants to break up, meaning that she would be left with nothing. No friends, no family, no home. But her fiancé does have his struggles and he is jealous. So what's his problem?
I think the story is authentic and well done. The characters are really cool and the jobs they have? Holy...
There was just one scene in the book that had my blood boil. Like, seriously. I hated the main character then. And I so felt for Hayden. Tears... Yeah, I was crying...
So, guys, read this series!!

Er hat sich von seiner langjährigen Freundin und Verlobten Hayden getrennt und meidet die Familie wann immer es geht. Immer wieder betrinkt er sich und weigert sich einen Psychologen aufzusuchen, der ihm bescheinigen soll, dass er noch vollkommen für den Feuerwehrdienst geeignet ist. Er will einfach nur seine Ruhe haben und in seinem Selbstmitleid versinken, denn so egal, wie die Trennung ihm sein sollte, ist sie nicht. Das Ganze wird ihm schließlich nicht einfacher gemacht, als seine Ex-Verlobte Hayden immer wieder bei ihm auftaucht und mit ihm reden will. Doch für Heath steht fest, dass die Trennung endgültig sein soll. Deshalb tut er das, was er nie wollte. Er benimmt sich wie der letzte Arsch und verletzt Heydens Gefühle. Alles was er tut scheint ihm richtig, bis seine Familie sich in die Geschehnisse einmischt.
Mit der Reihe der Boston 5 hat Poppy J. Anderson wieder einmal eine ganz wunderbare, emotionale Reihe auf den Markt gebracht. Das Buch liest sich sehr schnell, was nicht zuletzt an der lockeren Art von Poppys Schreibstil liegt. Sie mischt freche Dialoge mit Spannung und einer gehörigen Portion Emotionen. Am liebsten würde man in das Buch hinein kriechen und Heath immer wieder schütteln. Durch seine selbstzerstörerische Art, die Probleme, die er in sich hinein frisst, verletzt er nicht nur Hayden, sondern auch seine ganze Familie. Er grämt sich innerlich und man möchte ihm wortwörtlich in den Hintern treten, damit er endlich wieder aus seinem Schneckenhaus heraus kommt. Während man liest hofft man zuerst, dass Hayden und Heath wieder zueinander finden. Doch je mehr man mit der Geschichte voran kommt, desto mehr fragt man sich, ob es denn nicht besser wäre, wenn sich jeder einen neuen Partner sucht. Zeitweise hasst man Heath sogar richtig. Das hat Poppy wirklich richtig gut gemacht. Das Emotionsspiel ist einfach der Wahnsinn.
Auch die Familie Fitzpatrick lernt man näher kennen. Eine wunderbare Familie, die füreinander da ist, aber bei der keine Geheimnisse lange geheim bleiben und die sich überall einmischen muss. Allesamt sind sie stur und sagen ihrer Umwelt was sie denken, was natürlich nicht immer gut ankommt, besonders nicht bei dem Familienoberhaupt der Fitzpatricks. Trotzdem sind sie alle gern gesehene Menschen, weil man sie durch ihre offene Art einfach mögen muss. Ich persönlich freue mich schon auf die nächsten Teile, bei denen man die anderen Geschwister näher kennen lernen darf.
Empfehlen möchte ich das Buch allen, die gern Liebesromane mit einer ordentlichen Portion Witz und Emotionen lesen. Hier braucht man aber auch ein dickes Fell, da man sich fast das Ganze Buch fragen muss, wie doof Heath eigentlich ist und wie treudoof Hayden. Die beiden machen es sich oft schwerer, als es ist und vor allem Hayden geht mit einer Engelsgeduld an die ganze Situation heran, dass man sich kurz fragen muss, ob sie masochistisch veranlagt ist. Wer ein ewiges Hin und Her und einen stinkstiefeligen Heath verkraften kann, der wird an dem Buch seine wahre Freude haben. Besonders dann, wenn die Fitzpatricks aufeinander treffen und sich keiner die Butter vom Brot nehmen lassen will.

The Heat is On was an alright read, but everything happened too quickly, was told to me, and was resolved without much fuss. It was an okay read, but I wanted more. Some slight spoilers ahead
Something bad happened not too long ago that has shaken up the Fitzpatrick clan. Heath especially. His world has fallen apart and he is not dealing well. He is pushing everyone away, especially Hayden his ex-fiance. He just can't seem to get it together.
Hayden had been trying to not give up on Heath, but he has gone too far. Apparently he doesn't love her anymore. Apparently he really does want this breakup. It is killing her, but she has to face the facts. It is time to try and move on, but how is she going to do that?
Now it is obvious they both still love each other, but the story was a bit...I didn't connect with either of them really, with anyone, so It was just a light read. And Heath did and said some really not cool things to Hayden. Things that man...it would have taken a lot to get on my good side again if someone said this to me. And the end? When Heath finally realizes he is messing everything up and need to make it better? That was way too easy. He just suddenly changes his ways and everything works out fine. He says one thing and Hayden forgives him. It was just...not that good. Way too easy and quick and just an okay fluff kind of read. I wish it would have been a bit more. If I could have connected with the characters or things didn't suddenly resolve themselves it would have been better.

The last five percent of the book is another book in the series. The Hero is a head case/hot mess who causes so much pain for our heroine because he won't talk about his feelings. It was exhausting and not very emotionally satisfying when they worked out their differences. Deleted.

Great start to the series.
I originally went looking for a different book and found out that it is book number 2 in this series. However, I decided to read them all in order and I was not disappointed. It had many elements including bouts of anger, sadness, joy, fear, anxiousness and more.

I felt like I was jumping into a story when I was on book one. Loved it but so much family involved although I gotta say felt like it was my interfering relatives. Interesting.

A Lovely Book
This is the first time I have read this author and liked her style of writing. This was a good read, looking forward to reading the others in the series. It would be good to do a book on the central figures, the mother and father.

"The heat is on - brandheiße Küsse" ist eine perfekte Mischung aus Herzschmerz, Romantik und starken Charakteren. Es macht neugierig auf die Geheimnisse der Fitzpatrick-Geschwister, die hier schon angedeutet werden. Ich bin absolut begeistert und kann es kaum erwarten die Reihe weiter zu verfolgen.

Sweet love story
This first in a series of books about five Irish Catholic siblings in Boston is a sweet story of heartbreak and two people finding their way back to love. Heath has broken up with the love of his life Hayden as a way, he believes, of protecting her. He's a firefighter and she lost both her father and his father on active duty. He wants to save her going through that again.
Of course this was a stupid idea and his very interfering family won't leave him alone about his stupidity in breaking Hayden's heart. The family love displayed in this story is just as endearing as the romantic love. This is a feel good story. A quick read that will have you chucking and wishing for your own nosy, loud Irish siblings.
