I was 14 when the editor of our church's publishing house taught a journalism class at church camp. My Dad took the photos, so it was easy to write and illustrate an article about an event that week. The editor added in excerpts from the other kids in the class and my first article was accepted for publication. Through the next four years, eleven more were published. I had encountered my dream - to be a writer.
In the intervening years - more than forty - I continued to write for fun. I kept several fiction stories through multiple edits, certain that one day someone would publish them. That would only happen, though, if I submitted them for publication. At the urging of Tami Dee, the co-author on the Time After Time Saga, I finally submitted the first two - and to my amazement her publisher bought them both, and suddenly the dream was unfolding for me.
Join me on this journey of writing contemporary romantic fiction, meeting and learning from other authors, and getting the word out on that next book. I've lived in Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas and now in California. I have a husband, daughter and son-in-law, two grandchildren, and between us we've rescued and adopted three dogs, three cats, and a bird. I collect castles, read, and garden.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. We all have family legacies and stories handed down from generation to generation but Sabrina’s is so much more than just a story. You see long ago Milderth raised her hand in anger and tried to curse a family line in doing so she herself is cursed to find and try to destroy the true loves of the heartmark women. Sabrina is one of these women and she knows that soon she must battle for her true love with her nemesis. When these two women finally do meet it is quite unexpectedly and what plays out is even more unexpected. Nick is just trying to carry out a mission but finds himself feeling very protective of his assignment. When she tells him about her family legacy he disbelieves her and thinks she is a little addle brained in fact. This is a very fanciful story yet it is full of romance action and some very unexpected twists. Just enough to keep your heart entwined in the story making you stay up way past your bed time to see it through to the end just as I did.
This is the fourth book in our Time After Time Saga, and Tami took the lead on this. The hero is Nicolas, the little brother from Innocent Deception, another of her books. This book takes us closer to the origin of the saga, so the heroine is starry-eyed about her role as a Heartmark woman. Imagine her surprise when she meets the time-traveling enemy and she looks enough like her to be family. We see Mildreth with greater depth in this, the fourth of her adventures, which skip about through time rather than traveling in a linear fashion. The great dilemma for Nick is his loyalty to the Crown as a spy. If he trusts Sabrina he will be forced to disobey orders.
A calico cat and regal horse are the animal helpers in this story, set in England. You will love both the history and the characters as yet another story of the Heartmark woman, her love, her helper and her enemy unfolds.
