SHE’S USED TO DOING IT ALONE. HE’S DONE LETTING HER.
Violet Thompson is a single mom with goals. Accepting a new Systems Engineer position, she moves her small family to a quiet Northern California town called Redwood Springs. Determined to build a future there, she must win over skeptical locals, prove herself in a male-dominated field (again), and hopefully earn a long-awaited promotion. One complication: her boss’s brother (who also happens to be her new next-door neighbor) and the prank that started them off on the wrong foot.
Graham Moore’s routine is thrown off when his brother’s employee moves in next door. After an embarrassing misunderstanding, he can’t stop thinking about the blue-haired, tattooed woman who turns his orderly world upside down. They may be opposites, but the more he learns about Violet, the harder she is to ignore.
Violet can’t deny her attraction to the quiet farmer either—especially when he’s chopping wood shirtless at dawn. But professionalism matters.
Will Violet be able to resist the rugged farmer next door, or will unexpected attraction in Redwood Springs jeopardize everything she’s worked for?
Andrea Andersen is an author living with her little family in Southern California. Using her maladaptive daydreaming to her advantage, she likes to write stories filled with laughter and kisses. When she isn't writing love stories, she can be found rewatching her favorite TV shows or taking too many naps.
A bit of a slower burn than what we are used to with this authors writing, but when the spice started it was super hot! 🥵 I absolutely loved Graham and generally cinnamon roll MMCs aren't my jam. But the way he stood up for Violet while also respecting her boundaries was so amazing to see ❤️
4.5 star rating, thanks to Andrea Andersen for an advanced copy for my honest review.
Graham is my new favorite man. I will actually be singing this man's praises until the end of time. He's now my favorite man from the entire series. I love a grumpy single dad with a heart of gold! I can't wait for everyone else to get onboard the Graham train. I loved Violet in Melted By A Man so I was so excited when I found out that the next book would focus on her and her family. Violet is a single mother to an autistic five-year-old sweetheart, working full time in a male dominated industry with a crappy absentee low life ableist baby daddy, and an amazing dad who stepped in to help her raise her daughter. I say all of this to say that, Vi has a pretty big chip on her shoulder and it's understandable as to why given everything she's been through in her career, and with Gracie's lowlife lout of a sperm donor. She is hyper independent to a fault and struggles to accept help even from her dad. Graham is a grumpy but sweet lawyer turned farmer with a heart of gold, and a passion for helping his little community thrive while protecting them from outsiders who would take their land after everything his God awful father and grandfather put their town through. He is a great dad, co-parent, friend and golden boy of his community. He also is not even remotely technically inclined, and wrongly assumes that Violet is man before meeting her. He got the surprise of his life when a curvy blue haired goddess got out of the car on moving day. Violet's hyper independence and preconceived notions about Graham meant that they kind of got off on the wrong foot on their first day of working together. Graham truly had the patience of a saint in their interactions because she was constantly trying to get a rise out of him and it was honestly getting on my nerves. What can I say, I was team Graham from day 1! He understood the power imbalance and did his best not to do anything that would make her uncomfortable meanwhile she delighted in making uncomfortable. Graham made a real effort, certainly more than Gracie's father ever did, to understand her, autism in general, as well as Gracie's specific needs. I loved how the entire town embraced their family though I hate Jason. There's something about him that's so icky and slimy that my spirit just does not like at all. Genuinely, my favorite thing was how Graham found ways to show up for Violet, and for her family in quiet ways that took the weight off of her shoulders. He loved her, Gracie and Frank long before he ever uttered the words.
We have once again (for maybe the last time!) found ourselves at Sun Steer Tech, though this time we are in Northern California on Moore Farms. Big golden retriever energy Graham thinks his new on-site IT support is a man. Until a blue haired beauty gets out of the car and rocks his world. There is a lot of push and pull, will they won't they, until he finally breaks and they do it in the shed. Yes...in the shed. I hope it was sexier for them than it sounded tbh.
Graham falls in love with three people in this book - Violet, her non-verbal daughter, and Violet's dad. It wasn't just a trip and fall either, it was a full on crash. He is introduced as a young single father who has regular weekly visits with his ex-wife, her wife, and their daughter Olivia.
It just so happens that Olivia is a paraprofessional and offers to work directly with Violet's daughter. And...his ex-wife is Violet's daughter's teacher. It's fine, they're all one big happy family. We get to see Violet's daughter grow, we get to see love grow between Graham and Violet, and we get to see some hints of future spin off series upcoming.
Overall a quick, easy read that I devoured as always.
Graham is a field of green flags. Except that one time he thought his on-site IT support person was a man. Violet is definitely not a man — she’s a curvy, blue-haired spitfire of a woman with a special needs daughter, and she’s brought her father along because they’re a package deal. Violet is not a black cat by any means, but she’s used to doing things by herself and has a hard time letting others help her.
I’m so glad that even though Graham was surprised that Violet was a woman (she signed her emails “V”), he never doubted her qualifications to be there doing what she was sent to do. He has a surprisingly healthy relationship with his adult daughter, his ex-wife, and her wife. They’ve all clocked that he’s attracted to (and likes) Violet, well before he realizes it himself. I loved seeing him fall in love with not only Violet, but Gracie (her daughter), and even Frank (her father).
They have pretty instant attraction, but it’s a SLOW burn — they definitely struggle with the fact that Violet is only supposed to be there for a year, and Graham is her client (though he’s also her boss’s brother). When that tension breaks, the spice is spicy!
Thanks to Andrea Andersen for an advance copy of this book. I really enjoyed the story, the spice, and the yearning.
I was kindly provided with this book (censorship is BS and I hate it but here we are!)
Give me every single book like this one, please and thank you! Tropes for this one; small town, workplace, neighbours, ND autism rep (the FMC’s daughter is autistic), single parent MCs, opposites attract, he falls first, banter. Smut was 3/5 on the spice scale and it was the sweetest HEA ever!
Violet is our FMC, and she works in IT specifically for high-tech farm equipment. She is sarcastic, defensive, sneaky and also nearly ready to trust again. I saw a lot of of myself in Violet, I loved her personality and her relationship with her dad!
Graham is our MMC, the farmer tasked with testing the new high-tech farm equipment. He’s got an ex-wife that he’s good friends with, a daughter who I would love to read a book about also. Let’s be honest, who’s not going to fall for the grumpy man that owns bunnies and chops wood shirtless?
I am obsessed, this book had me laughing, kicking my feet, and really close to tears (which is hard for me)! Graham is the cinnamon roll we all want in our life, we love an emotionally mature man who can own his mistakes and say sorry, who also is willing to learn about literally anything. And Violet is a strong independent blue haired single mama queen, i love her personality and her Sass, I want to be her when I grow up. I love all the friendships in this book and the relationship between family members is so beautiful to see, healthy blended families are such a rarety to find and it was so cool seeing that depicted. This is just such a wholesome feel good book, I would absolutely recommend!
I am an Andrea Andersen stan. This is the second time I've been lucky enough to be on her ARC team, and hopefully, I get to be on it for every book moving forward because I CANNOT WAIT.
I love the Sun Steer Tech series. If every single workplace functioned like this, I would run straight back to being a corporate girlie. (I love my non-traditional job though, so that is unlikely). I loved Graham and how down bad he was for Violet from the second she walks into his life. You gotta love a cinnamon roll of a man who yearns while chopping wood shirtless. No notes.
Violet felt very real to me. As a mom of two autistic boys, the loneliness and self-reliance is VERY true. Why give anyone the chance to do something the wrong way when you can do it the right way all on your own? (Even when you have the best support system and a very hands-on partner, that mindset is SO HARD to let go of.)
4⭐3🌶️ ARC Dual POV First Person Sun Steer Tech series, book #3 Violet and Graham I feel like Graham was almost too perfect? Too forgiving? He was amazing with Gracie. Gracie was great, as was her grandpa. Violet's ex can go deep throat a 🌵 I wouldn't even want to do an 8hr hike, I don't know on what planet any 5yo, esp one on the spectrum, would be good with it either 😒 Add in all the other ways he sucks 🤬 Chapt 23, 🤣🤣🤣 poor Olivia I really enjoyed their friendship along with physical relationship. Great found family vibes too.

I was very lucky to receive an ARC in return for my honest review.
I have really enjoyed the last two books in the series and this one was no exception!
I absolutely adore Violet! Seeing her in mama bear mode and fiercely loving Gracie and her father was beautiful. As someone who's love language is also gentle teasing, I really enjoyed the dynamic between Graham and Violet.
I loved Graham's story and his family dynamic. He was super sweet with Gracie, and how he respected and supported Violet was just perfection!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am sad this series has come to an end. But looking forward to whatever comes next (Horny Pottery let's go!!!!)
I was so excited and grateful to receive an ARC of Forgiven by a Farmer!!!
This might be my favorite of the Sun Steer Tech series. I'm such a sucker for instant attraction, and Graham is so gone for Violet and I WAS LIVING FOR IT.
I read and finished this during a very hard week in my life. Being sucked into Violet and Graham's world was the perfect getaway. The love and support showed in this story (along with the big middle finger to capitalism) was such a warm hug and made this book very hard to put down.
Also for those side characters, I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE, ANDREA! I am CANNOT WAIT.
I hope we get to see Brandon's story at some point. He was witnessed so many of his employees fall in love, I hope he gets his happy ending too.
I am crossing my fingers that I will be lucky enough to receive another ARC for one of Andrea's books in the future.
ARC review ☺️ Such a cosy and fun read!! I enjoy a yearning, slow-burn story and this one definitely checked all the boxes. I flew through all of Andrea Andersen’s books when I first discovered her in January of this year and was so excited to read Violet’s story. The book is well paced and hard to put down. I loved Violet and Graham’s dynamic and I’m super excited for any future stories of the people in Redwood Springs ✨
Loved, loved, loved this book. I was so looking forward for this story. Graham and Violet make for a great pair. Gracie and Frank bring so much extra joy to the story.
I felt the new era of farmers that wear cowboy hats to spite their fathers, create a comunal Mary J "farm" for everyone, starts his day with a joint, is not something I expected, but will enjoy to see in the future.
ARC review: This might be my favorite book of the series. I love how Violet has her many sides as a mom, IT genius and a single woman. And Graham is the ideal gentle giant. As much as you will fall for the MCs in this story you will fall even harder for their families.
🔥Slow burn 💕Single Parents. 🏠 Small Town 🥴 Forbidden Romance ❤️ Dual POV
Andrea's wit and humor bleeds into the pages, bringing to life characters who are just as loveable as her writing. Violet and Graham bring the perfect balance of banter, chemistry, and tension. Throw in the most endearing side characters and you have a small town romance for the ages.
