Rate this book
Victor Reed, a very successful lawyer, is at the peak of his career after a great success against his great rival Evan Kane in a problematic case. However, he suddenly finds himself in a reality he could not have imagined, even in his worst nightmare. After an unexpected visit to the hospital, he learns that he is seriously ill and has a few months left to live.

Before he can realize what is happening to him, two men meet him and give him a divine gift with which he can influence the lives of those around him by giving them "life's time" from the years he would have lived if he did not have this incurable disease.

He realizes that the disease he has developed is divine judgment for the harm he has done to innocent people, exonerating the perpetrators.

His perception of life drastically changes, and he meets people who inspire him to perform altruistic acts, trying to make up for his mistakes, which have led many people to misery.

But is atonement enough to grant him grace from God? For that to happen, someone must decide that Victor is worth saving. Will the people he has hurt in the courtrooms be able to forgive him?

Faced with his shameful past, Victor realizes that his fate is approaching. After a social event, he suddenly feels unwell and ends up in the hospital, where he meets a young patient, Nicole White, on whom he uses his charisma once more…

The Atonement by Angelos Myriofytis is a book I couldn't put down until I reached the end. All the characters are real, and the story unfolds cinematically. The understandable and straightforward writing flows effortlessly, completing all the images before the reader's eyes. The author employs narrative writing with a rich vocabulary, describing the events as a narrator without resorting to tedious dialogue.

Victor indirectly wins battles as a lawyer, exonerating the guilty or relieving companies of compensation that should be given to victims. He covers himself by saying, "This is the nature of the job." But when he falls ill with a rare disease, two angels meet him and convince him that his actions caused the disease. They give him a gift to heal others, but not himself.

Victor realizes the futility of material goods and changes course, helping those around him in any way he can, starting with the care of pets. His meeting with Alexis, a veterinarian and volunteer for the care of stray animals, broadens his perspective. Thus, he comes to terms with his impending death while offering generously to his fellow human beings.

This book is exciting because it introduces us to a world full of mystery and adventure. It's easy to understand and has interesting characters who teach us extraordinary things about the relationship between actions and fate. The story keeps us hooked from start to finish, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. The suspense was the most interesting element in this book. I won't forget to mention the flawless editing of this book, as I did not notice any errors while reading.

It would have been better to have a dialogue when the two attorneys examined witnesses in the courtroom. Also, the last chapter could have been developed more. These were the only dislikes I could point out while reading. However, they did not affect my reading so that I will rate this book five out of five stars.

This book will appeal to readers who enjoy thought-provoking and philosophical narratives, as it explores complex concepts about time, actions, fate, and the retribution of kindness. Angelos Myriofytis is a promising young author with amazing ideas and a unique style, making for a relaxing read. We hope he continues in the same vein.

This book is perfect if you love emotional, thought provoking stories about second chances and morality. It’s not preachy, but it definitely leaves you pondering big questions. I couldn’t put it down and would recommend it to anyone looking for a read that’s both moving and meaningful.
