Solid sequel
I inhaled this the same night I finished Instinct. Even though this is book 2 of a trilogy, it has a solid ending, which will let me finally shut the lights off and get some sleep. While not as scary creepy as Extinct, there are still plenty of skin crawling moments, not just from things that go bump not only at night, but during the day, sentient tornados, things seen only by peripheral vision, and creepy crawly vines, smart water, modern machinery hating fire, and so much more.
The author has constructed an interesting take on the history of our planet and mankind, all while keeping us firmly grounded in the today that went sideways, leaving me turning the page (swiping my Kindle!) to see where the journey led, and what or who and why the men behind the scenes were so bent on ending mankind.
I'm looking forward to book 3.
