I am working hard at being retired, spending time with my lovely lady of 35 years and discovered a passion for writing in my free time.

I've been lucky enough to publish a number of short stories and now my novel, Redemption has been re-published through Lesbian Fiction Press. My second novel, Strangers will also be available by September 2013 via Lesbian Fiction Press as well. I'm busy working on my third, Sisters which should be out by May 2014.

Other than that, my wife assures me we are the most boring people she knows. Thanks for stopping by.

A car accident in the middle of a Montana snowstorm strands Dr. Fiona Gallagher in the out-of-the-way property of ex-cop Maddison. The weather has a mind of its own, so the reluctant hostess and her testy guest find themselves snowed in for an extended period. For Maddison, the curvy Doc is an unwanted attraction. While Fiona finds her hostess' kindness and compassion alluring, the butch ex-cop is not her usual type.

Without the happy confluence of Chance and bad weather, the likelihood of these two women being in close company, let alone a relationship, are close to none. So what happens when the weather clears, and they are free to go back to their respective lives? How do you start a relationship with such 'irreconciliable differences' ?

This "country girl vs city girl thing' is a rather common trope in romances, but the author pulls this one off very well. There are no easy answers and the characters go through the emotional wringer repeatedly. It's a bit melodramatic towards the end but its good melodrama.

But that's not all. There is a very well-plotted mystery that is just an important part of the premise as the romance. The eagle-eyed and jaded reader might be able to suss this out , but I didn't really analyze it that much and chose to enjoy the mystery as it unfolded. The way it is revealed bit by bit, casually and almost off-handedly, is tantalizing yet heartbreaking at the same time.

Readers who love a little mystery and a lot of angst will enjoy this book immensely.

This book was an emotional roller coaster for me. While reading it I was sad, angry, happy, touched, upset, furious, annoyed, hopeful... you name it. I would recommend "Sisters" to anyone who enjoys emotional reads with a lot of angst and drama. I will definitely look for other books by DeJay.

Really nice read.

Quite angsty, and quite touching. The plot really pulls you in. As a reader, you know pretty much everything and are just waiting to see how things unfold for the characters. I couldn't put it down. Even at a party surrounded by friends I sneaked out to read a few chapters.

I'll just say though that the romance wasn't particularly convincing. I think there was a lack of real interactions before the women admitted to having feelings for one another. I just didn't feel it.
I also didn't understand some of the decisions the protagonists made, and found it frustrating. I sometimes found Fiona very obnoxious and unfair. But did like Maddison very much.

Overall, a really addictive and original book.

I haven't given a 5 star rating in a while! But this was an awesome story. The characters, they location descriptions, the back story. It all works together beautifully. Not sure I would have ever found this if not for Women's week reading I attended. I will be checking out other works by this author.

I am not 100% sure on how to rate this one. I was doubting between 2 or 3 stars, so I guess that 2,5 should be the final rating.

What I liked most, is the fact that this story carries a depth and intensity that is not easy to find in lesbian romance books. I liked Maddison's character as well, it is a very solid character that has been very well portrayed by the author.

However, there are important flaws that I could not deflect. The first and most important flaw would be the lack of romance. There is some romance in this story, but the weight of the love story within the book is little, or minimal, and not even credible. There is no sufficient detail so as to explain why and how both women get to fall in love with eachother and that, for me, is a major flaw in a romance novel.

The second major flawness would be the way both stories (past and present) are unfolded and intertwined. During most part of the book, the reader already knows the "dark secrets" of the past, and keeps on waiting to see how the characters get to find out those secrets in present time. This is a very desincouraging and frustrating situation that reduces the tension and hightens the frustration of the reader towards the characters that remain in the dark. I would have preferred to get to know those secrets at the same time as the characters (Fiona and her mother) so as to put myself in their shoes. It would have helped me a lot to better understand the reactions and decisions made by them.

This truly is a tear jerker. I wasn't expecting it when I started and then I read and read and then BAM, the story and the characters got me in the feels. So good.

The characters are complex in their own little way, but most especially Mrs. Mary. I truly disliked her and the things she wrote to her daughter but she sure turned herself around for Maddison, Fiona and her grandbabies.

This was truly a beautiful and heart wrenching book. I loved it.

I think this is the first time I've read a romance novel that would have been better without the actual romance. Or at the very least, a different lead for Maddison to be with. Because honestly, what on earth does she see in Fiona?? She spends so much of the novel

Also, I have no idea why or how Maddison
