Daphne and Jason were best friends in elementary school, but a jock and a bookworm were bound to drift apart. Daphne thought their relationship would never amount to more than a friendly nod in the hallways of high school. And she told herself she was fine with that.
Until a high school party brought them back together again, and led them down a path they could never imagine. Jason knew what he wanted: her. But Daphne wasn’t so sure.
But soon Daphne’s doubts were overshadowed by a tragic event she could never imagine, and it wasn’t just her feelings on the line. It was her life. If love was enough, Daphne and Jason would survive and last forever.
Interesting story. I enjoyed parts of it, but really didn’t like the female character much. How many times can she misinterpret or believe someone’s lies about a person she claims to love without actually talking to him about it. She really doesn’t trust him at all, which left me very unsympathetic toward her. That coupled with some typos, really impeded my enjoyment of this book. The second half almost could have been a separate story and was more interesting than the first part. I didn’t enjoy the massive time shifts without warning. I would have preferred a subheading of “four years later” or some alert that I wasn’t still in the same time as the previous chapter, but that’s my preference.
If you like angst and mostly self-imposed drama, then this may be a perfect book for you.
Won in a giveaway. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I thought it was just a romance book, but it turned into a thriller on me. I was here for it and I could t stop once the story picked up. It was slow in the beginning but it really got going. I was pleasantly surprised.
After reading a couple chapters, I didn't want to stop. I don't want to give too much away and spoil this book for anyone, but the plot twists were unexpected and well played.
First time reading this author. It is a feel good/second chance with a happy ending. I enjoyed the story but felt like it was drawn out in some parts and glossed over in others.
A book that kept me on my toes there was so many twist that I thought I knew everything and then something else surprised me! Would most definitely recommend
Great story telling, I look forward to reading other books by S. H. Kolee. My only issue is that this one had so many twists it caused a bit of dizziness, but still a great read.
