Have you been a model Citizen today?

The destruction of the Chief Overseers’ Palace was meant to bring about a change. But the streets of Wánměi are just as dangerous and just as falsely perfect as they ever were. Lena Carr, now a confirmed member of the revolution, hides in the shadows of the city-state she adores and works hard to undermine those in a position of authority.

But there are secrets among the Overseers…

The leaders of Wánměi would have you believe that the nation is model. That Wánměi provides all that you need. And many do still believe it. Battling propaganda and brainwashing becomes more insurmountable for the rebels each day.

But one person will never give up on a free Wánměi. Trent Masters has led the rebel army through some tough times, but now he faces the biggest battle of all. Convincing the Citizens of his beloved nation that there is more beyond the invisible, yet impenetrable, walls of Wánměi.

And to do that he needs Lena. Because without the Elite who has captured his heart, as easily as she moves across the rooftops of the city in the dead of a storm shrouded night, he won’t find the key that unlocks it all. But what that key unlocks will be the biggest shock of them all.

Citizen versus Citizen. The battle ends now!

Book 3 of 5 and the best so far.

This is the third book in this series and they just keep getting better and better my only problem is I didn't check all the books were out, this is a series of five books the forth is due out in March and the fifth in April so while it's not that long it's still too long.
Like the previous book 'Cardinal' this book is fast paced in fact it never lets up and I struggled to put it down at all, it starts with Lena and the rebels on a mission where they make a frightening discovery, they're not sure exactly what's going on or who's in charge but they're fighting for One Wánměi and they know they have to take down Shiloh.
The rebels need to be united which means Trent and Tan need to cooperate but can they and their men fully trust each other. Trent and Lena finally put all mistrust and doubts behind them and accept that they can't fight the attraction any more, they have enough battles without fighting their feeling as well.
This is a fabulous book and the strongest so far as they prepare to give up their lives in what seems to be an impossible fight.
I enjoyed this whole book but especially Trent and Lena together (I'm a romantic and it's Valentine's Day so of course I liked them best together) I loved the romance, the passion and the humour because despite whatever situation they find themselves in Trent never fails to somehow make me smile.
***I tugged at her stab-proof vest, felt her knives dig into my thighs, my groin. Instinct had me shifting all pertinent areas out of direct contact. Desire had me shifting back immediately and to hell with a blade to the balls.***
I very rarely give 5* but this one held me from the first page to the last and I can't wait for 'Masked' the forth book so really I can't give any less.

4.5 Stars! Citizen is the third and final book in the Citizen Saga trilogy, and just as enthralling as books one and two. Elite introduced us to a nation and its people going through life with blind devotion, following the doctrine instituted by its oppressive leaders. Cardinal saw us following a continued fight for freedom and the seeking of answers when all we had were innumerable questions. Now, Citizen brings it all together with an ending even our beloved rebels didn't see coming. Note: reading on may give away details from previous books. I encourage you to read Elite and Cardinal before continuing. You won't be disappointed.

Summary:
Trent, Lena, and the remaining rebel forces have fought valiantly against the oppression that has blanketed Wánmei for years, but the fight has not been easy or without great loss. Now, after the explosive events of the second Ohrikee showdown, it is even more imperative that the revolution succeed and Wánmei finds freedom. Trent succeeded in a rescue attempt of Lena, and brought about the destruction of the palace and the Chief Overseer's death. This was to spark a change in the direction Wánmei was headed, but if anything, the streets are even more dangerous than they once were and the facade of perfection persists. Lena is firmly rooted on the side of revolution, following the rebel leader she's come to care deeply for, through any situation. Together, her and Trent work with others to weaken and expose those with authority. Unfortunately, their biggest challenge isn't the Overseers they've always clashed against, but something far smarter and infinitely more dangerous. Not only do the Overseers have secrets, but a face to face with an increasingly sentient Shiloh grows more imminent by the day. Success hinges on the reversal of years of brainwashing and ration dosing, but how do you convince Citizens of their nation's deceit and that more possibilities exist beyond the walls of Wánmei? Battling long-held beliefs and a man greedy for power seems an impossible task for one rebel leader and his small crew, but Lena exists not only as a symbol of hope for a scared nation, but also the key to success for the revolution. Trent and Lena will risk their lives and love to uncover the truth of their beloved Wánmei, but the thing with secrets is they may be more disquieting and unbelievable than anything that came before.

From the beginning, this series blew me away. Not only did the story of Wánmei intrigue and captivate me, but Trent and Lena captured my heart and refused to let go. Experiencing the growth of Lena's determination and knowledge was exciting and heartbreaking at the same time. Even starting out as a great character, she grew and became so much more by the end, coming back stronger after each setback. Saying that, she didn't hesitate to cause me many frustrations, but she always managed to make me love her more. Trent only made the pot sweeter. His dedication was inspiring, and his love was all-encompassing and strong. The fact that he was groomed for his role, in the way that he was, made his determination to succeed that bit more beautiful. His actions weren't performed only out of inherited duty, but also because of his love for his country, his wishes for his people, and the beliefs he held despite his upbringing. This final book sees us getting a larger dose of the incredible romance that signifies Nicola Claire's impressive work. Trent and Lena's love practically sizzles right off the page, and I loved it! It was hot, and exactly what I was looking for at this stage of the journey. Although Trent and Lena account for the bulk of my love for this series, I also fell deeply for supporting cast. Their loyalty and willingness to fight was admirable and inspiring. Overall, Citizen was an excellent read. The story itself was astonishing and garnered a bit of mixed feelings from me. Not everything was so cut and dried. While I was sad to see the series end, it was a great ending. Everything I expected after the buildup of books one and two was there, including answers to questions I'd both been dying to know and never expected, and the culmination of the love, trust, and respect between Trent and Lena. On the flip side, I'm a girl who loves her epilogues. I like seeing into a future that took determination, trust, laughter, tears, love, loss, and so much more to achieve. We aren't given this with the Citizen Saga even though we are given an ending. Nothing we've read is left in question, but also nothing is what it seems, and we along with Wánmei are left with infinite possibilities and directions for the future. I want to thank Nicola for giving us such a wonderful cast of characters and their story. I am beyond honored to have recieved ARC's and ecstatic to have been a part of this amazing book journey. Everyone should read this trilogy so as not to miss out on an amazing author and the beauty that is Trent and Lena. <3

Citizen begins when Lena and her crew are on another mission to take down Shiloh. This time though things are different. Lena and Trent are on the same side with out the trust issues, however, things may not always be exactly what they seem! They may end up facing their greatest challenge of all when they come face to face with Shiloh, and reveal the truths they have each been seeking.

This is the final book in the Citizen saga, and what a way to end it! Wow! I really enjoyed this series from beginning to end, and I'm super sad to see it end. However, I feel like the end could lead to a whole different series, or it could just be the end of it. I wonder what the author has in store for us...

All right so my favorite thing about this book was the relationship between Trent and Lena! I loved getting to see a softer side of each of them, and see them final realize what it was they were feeling.
These quotes may contain spoilers...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

But these are a few things that made me LOVE Trent:

"No matter what the future holds," he whispered, leaning forward and burying his face in my hair at the side of my neck, his body wrapped around mine, heat infusing me, love surrounding me, and making me whole. "I have found my paradise right here. In my arms. In my heart. In my soul."

"You're so full of beautiful promising sunshine." Another deep breath in. "You're my light."

And then these are a few of his thoughts that made me love him as well..

Lena was also a delicate bird, underneath the haughty mannerisms and cutting remarks. Behind the recklessness and adrenaline fuelled hunger, there was a fragile hummingbird desperately in need of escape.

She'd thrown herself out of a window again. I could not f*cking believe it.

So, again Trent was amazing in this book! And Lena was well Lena, truly utterly amazing Lena!

My favorite quote from Lena to Trent:

"If I stumble you won't let me fall," I whispered and heard the sharp intake of his surprised breath of air.

This book was very very good! I loved this series, and I loved all three books in the series. The only downside to this book was the end! And part of that was because it ended at all, but the other part was I was a little disappointed it didn't exactly go out with a bang, but that's just me!
But other than that this is a must read, and you do not want to miss out on the greatness of Lena and Trent!

So im not going to lie, with a 3 part series it spends two books building up creating mystery and then the final installment never fully answers the questions. Not this one though!! I really wanted to solve the whole mystery of Lenas father and Shiloh and i wasnt dissapointed. There was action and suspense all the way through but it all built up to a magnificant ending. Lena and Trents story really comes together and i must confess i think im in love with Trent!!! Shhhhhh dont tell my other half. The cherry on the cake for me though is the ending there are plenty of adventures that can be tagged onto this one. Without giving too much away nothings what it seems, i will leave that thought with you :). Well done nicola! x

Fantastic!
I enjoyed this series so much- these books were unputdownable (don't think that's really a word)
I have to congratulate you Nicola on how consistently good your stories are; you have a real talent and I have gained a lot of enjoyment reading the stories you write.
I'm hoping that there will be a new series that follows from this one because I think you could never read too many tales of Lena and Trent.

I loved this book! It answered a lot of questions and provided the closure, so I would have been satisfied ending the trilogy with this book. However, I am thrilled to see that there will be a 4th book coming out soon. I'm just not ready to be done with Trent and Lena, and I'm glad that we will get to continue on their journey.

So back to this story, it once again had lots of action and kept me on the edge of my seat! This story was NOT predictable, and I'm glad that there were twists thrown in. Trent was--as always-- amazing in this book. I love him even more, and it was great to see him and Lena really trust and rely on each other. Overall a great story, and I can't wait for book 4!

Wow! I didn't see that coming! There are surprises galore and some secrets revealed in book 3 of The Citizen Saga, and it's even more suspenseful than the first two books, with lots of twists and turns and no one knowing who to trust. I'm really loving this series by Nicola Claire and I'm looking forward to (hopefully) many more adventures with Lena and Trent.
