Marquez is a fast-paced, African American Romance that will dig into your soul, curl your toes, and make you tingle all over... Enjoy!
This book is so good I listened to it audible and the drama was good. Marquez the infamous leader of 116th street was sentenced to 25 years to life for a murder charge. On a rare technicality his sentence is thrown out and he gets a second chance at life. Drako younger brother to Marquez decides to go in a different direction in his life as he no longer wants to be in his brother shadow. How will Marquez take this revelation of his brother’s change of heart. This book is very entertaining and I couldn’t stop listening.
Marquez is a fast paced urban fiction story about 2 brothers determined to take separate paths to success. It's a true urban fiction novella. Unfortunately, the story is too short to have the impact necessary to make me want to keep reading. It ends on an interesting cliffhanger, however, due to the lack of real character development, I didn't connect with any of the characters enough.
However, if you're a fan of shorter, fast paced urban fiction novels, Tallah J. does everything right with Marquez and I highly recommend the book to fans of the genre.
This was a good start to a series, it showed how you can have a lucrative business (not necessarily legal) but things can fall apart. The sad thing is having this business with family and once you have paid the consequences for your actions the family member decided to ghost you without telling you they don’t want to continue the business you all had before they went away.
Anyway, it ended on a cliffhanger where the tides changed between family members.
