This is book four in the “Backbone & Burlesque” series and is best read in the order of the series for maximum reading pleasure. Wild child Zara is becoming increasingly disruptive in the world of burlesque club Titter following the departure of her best friend and duet partner Molly. New dancers have joined and Zara feels pushed out and alone, as well as threatened by an upcoming performance she has to be part of. Club bouncer Kade has kept a close eye on Zara for years, keeping her from going completely off the rails, much to her disapproval which she doesn’t hide. They bicker and banter, but when things become much more serious for Zara, Kade is there to save her from herself and whisk her away to safety. Trapped in an isolated cabin, they’re forced to work together to stay warm and well, and this intimacy allows them to show their vulnerabilities and examine their true feelings for each other.
In Zara the author has created the wildest character at Titter to date, one who has been caged but managed to escape to a new life, only to be tracked down at a time when she is already struggling. You can feel her panic, fear, stress and isolation as the walls close in around her, with only Kade there as a constant source of calm and protection. Their story is a rollercoaster of tension, distrust, betrayal, passion and dreams which doesn’t let up once the ride starts. Highly recommended for readers looking for a riveting and tense story with passion, steam, emotion and a powerful message about family.
I just love this series, the story line has developed since book 1 and just keeps getting better. If this is your first look at this story line... please start from book 1 this series should not be read out of order. Tempt is the story of zara, who leads a secret life that is starting to unravel. Cue a controlling family drama, a love interest and a friendship group that is tested to its limts and you have Zaras story. There is a happy ending.
This Author has managed to capture a great series about what was essentially a family of misfits and turn them into a group who will fight everyone and everything to protect each other. I read this book in one day as i just couldn't put it down... but sadly I now have to wait for the next installment!
This was my favourite book in the whole of this series. When Zara a burlesque dancer finds herself going to hit rock bottom the big burly bouncer from the bar comes to rescue her. Part of the rescue plan leads to being snowed in a one bed cabin. While finding a new relationship they come back to the real world and the hurricane that Zara had ignited leads to uncertainty and then finding road to redemption and they find challenges on how to make a relationshipwork with their previous baggage. I would thoroughly recommend this book.
