The adventure aspect of finding some ancient artifact/secret technology to stop an evil politician/businessman/warlord/criminal from using the artifact/technology to - you guessed it - take over the world is entertaining enough, but gets bogged down by the author’s increased preaching about climate change (which I agree with) and misanthropy (which I don’t). The adventure constantly grinds to a screeching halt so the author (through the characters) can finger wag at the audience about all the ways humanity is ruining the planet. As for the misanthropy, The Nostradamus Equation involves the heroes trying to ensure World War III happens in the future so the population can be culled. It’s going to be hard cheering for them in the future, if I ever read any of the other books.
