Jami M Brumfield has a passion for the paranormal, supernatural, and mythological worlds for most of her life. She believes there is a kernel of truth in every story and loves playing detective to discover what that hidden truth is. She has written most of her life. She started with poems and short stories, then graduated to journalism working for online websites like examiner.com. It was only a natural progression that her love of writing and her passion for the unknown would combine. Lone Wolf Rising the first book of the Winters series is the product of that union.

Jami has a remarkable way of telling a story, of creating, twisting, and breathing life into a story. As her editor, I get to read them first, so I feel privileged. I'm dying to know what happens with Fang and Frankie next. Syfy channel! Seriously. Where are you? This book series is perfect for a original tv show. Pay attention.

In the second episode of the PBI Case Files: Outbreak, we join the Hollister sisters faced with new life choices and directions in which it turns.
The connection between Sarah and agency partner, Devon, is deepening though both are wrestling with their will and their hearts to remain friends until (or if, the time is right.)
Frankie, learns more about Fang--who constantly annoys her but seems to fascinate her as well.
Under the guidance of the others in the PBI Agency, Sarah and Devon's and Frankie and Fang's relationships intertwine with an occurrence of an obscene malady which becomes their next case to solve. This outbreak causes a surprising turn of events that will keep you turning pages! Karma, Jasmine and the other supporting members of the PBI Agency provide backstory to illustrate the paranormal worlds' parallels with the human world. This connects the entire story and allows the author to develop creative and interesting twists as the team works to solve issues in relationships and the case files!
I enjoyed this story even more than the first episode and I am anxiously awaiting the next!
Based on these two issues, I would consider the series acceptable for young adults to adults who enjoy paranormal fiction with a romantic essence. (Note: Age recommendation may vary dependent on subject matter in future books.)

What can I say, this is an awesome series. We pick up where we left off in book 1 and it just keeps getting better. Ms. Bromfield’s imagination is scary, but in a good way. We get a deeper understanding of the characters in this segment and another look at some scary stuff in the paranormal world. The love angle is explored farther and new revelations are reveled. The story is well written, fast paced, entertaining and seriously rocks. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. 

I received a free Audible copy of Pbi Case Files Bundle 1 from the author in exchange for my honest review.

While I didn't get into the series right off the bat, it did quickly draw me in and once I was hooked, I was hooked. It's a series with danger and mystery that doesn't end up being dark. There are love, friendship, and entertaining moments to lighten it to a point that you shouldn't think it's very dark at all. The series includes a plethora of paranormal beings including, but not limited to, vampires, shifters (bear specifically), Amazons, demi-gods, gods/goddesses, and telepaths. The variety adds a lot of life to the story with the characters largely not being of the same species/race as one another. The main characters are Sarah (human) and her sister, Frankie (human) as well as Fang/Luke (bear shifter) and Devon (vampire). Sarah and Frankie find themselves thrust into a world beyond their imaginings (either that or death). Thus, they both join the PBI (as humans). As the series progresses, circumstances dictate actions that result in Sarah and Frankie no longer being your average humans (and neither of them is very happy about it!). The interplay between these four main characters and the others (such as Karma and Jasmine) that make regular appearances is never boring. As I said before, the books are not dark so, while there hasn't been a HEA ending yet, it is coming. We just need to have a little faith in the characters and their ability to move past adversity. Each of the books ends in a cliffhanger (which isn't a big deal for books 1-3, but stinks when you reach the end of book 4, obviously). I would recommend this to any PNR lovers who like a clean romance (sex and language, so far) romance that is an adventure and a lot of fun to listen to (or read). Needless to say, I am most definitely interested in listening to Bundle 2!

I loved this book! It so much like reading your favorite paranormal tv show! I can't wait to read the next installment and see how they progress within the Bureau in their departments as well as with their partners and co-workers. And now that something major has happened to Frankie, I'm excited to see what happens!

I'm trying my best to avoid doing a spoiler so that's why this is so vague, but trust me it's awesome!
