Lena’s Review:

Everybody is afraid of Samantha Skylar for many reasons. Some of the reasons she hears is that she is mean; tyrannical but the one that hurts the most is that she’s an ICE QUEEN. As CEO of Sky Pharmaceuticals Samantha has to work hard and not show any emotion. Everything changes though when she hires Elijah McCray. She swore years ago to not let any man get past her walls but something about Eli is making her feel like a woman.

Denise Jeffries is a new author to this reviewer and I must say that Masquerade was good. The only thing that kind of had me wondering was the time setting. One minute it feels like it’s a futuristic then something about Masquerade reminds me of this time period. The minute that the virus hits definitely has Samantha overworking yet Eli is the man to make her relax.

Denise Jeffries did a good job of making Eli work for his love. In addition, I loved that Samantha showed no mercy when it comes to Eli expressing his feelings. All in all Denise Jeffries did a great job in this book in spite of confusion with the time period.

Masquerade was packed with suspense, romance and a woman’s chance to really be looked at as a woman and not just a tyrannical boss. Great job.

This was a quickie read, under 200 pages. Samantha and Elijah came together after a bit of resistance, but had a pretty smoothe relationship. Eli's big secret was nothing like I expected and was really anti-climatic. The big mystery of the book was pretty obvious also. The read was ok, but I don't think I would recommend it.
