I enjoyed the book read it mainly because I needed to know what happened. She admitted a lot of stuff that she should have included into the book, at least that's how I feel. also she disrespected her female character. There was a couple things that made me feel that way was her female character just at open heart surgery mechanical heart put in and she's having sex in the hospital bathroom my husband just had open heart surgery there's no way they'd be doing that. the second one was when one of the male characters had anal sex with her and went from the anal sex to the vaginal sex without nothing on she would have sent her female character to the doctors for this. He should have worn a condom and then remove that condom before he switched to the vaginal sex. And I wish this three main characters would have treated her better I know it's a mob but they usually treat their women a little better.

This is a series that I have thoroughly enjoyed. One where you can't wait for the next in the series to be released so you can follow on with the story. Oh! And what a story.

At the end of the 3rd book, Willow suffers a heart attack on her way down the aisle. She is dying unless she can get a new heart. When a revolutionary new treatment is offered, she takes it. Cast knows he has to take precautions because this new heart could be cyber attacked. But is Willow meant to have a long life, or is this new treatment going to fail her further along the line?

Vincent is struggling. Could he lose his Queen for good, and what is a King without his Queen? But his father and stepmother have plans for him, lining him up with suitable women in his social circle, determined to marry him off, but why? When the truth comes to light, he is shocked and needs to speak to his maternal grandfather. He is even more shocked when he finds out further information about his lineage and what he must do to be a worthy Beaumont.

Cast is by Willow's side throughout; he will not lose her, without her, he is nothing. He'll do whatever it takes to make sure she lives. He can't trust Vincent after what he did, even more so when his sister brings him news about Vincent's family drama. But when Vincent turns to him for help, he knows he 'owns' Vincent's life if he helps.

Damien is struggling, it's like losing his mam all over again, with Willow's heart failing. He's always had a love/hate relationship with Willow, but this shock proves to him that he can't live without her. He loves her, no matter what. This time he will fight, he will do anything to make sure that she lives.

The three men may be fractured at the start of the book, and they have their issues they have to deal with, but the chessmen have always been tight, and had each others back, and this time they will fight and do anything to make sure their Queen survives, as she is the most important one on the chessboard of life. They'd rather sacrifice themselves so she can live.

Can't wait for the new storylines to be released following the other women that have been mentioned in this series!.

Amazing Finale for Dark Trilogy

This is the final book of the trilogy of Ruthless Kings of Thornhaven, in addition to a prequel novella. Sophie J. Rivers has kept me captivated with each book becoming more intense than the previous one. I didn’t think it could get more impassioned than book 3, Lords of Ruin: Savage, but this book is darker and more emotionally charged.

The Chessmen: Vincent, Cast and Damien face some terrible decisions in their attempt to keep Willow alive and repair their damaged brotherhood. These three ripped, tortured and possessive main characters give a whole new meaning to the ‘touch her and die’ vibe. Willow has transformed from their pawn to their queen, and they will do anything to protect her, own her, and cherish her.

The final segment in this trilogy reveals more secrets, shocking twists, and ventures into very dark morals. The intensity is off the charts. It is brilliantly written, achingly romantic with incendiary chemistry between the main characters and the woman they are obsessed with. It isn’t just a story about obsession, but an emotionally stunning romance that is all about healing, forgiveness, and cherishing love.

Unlike some reviewers, I never give a synopsis of the book or reveal spoilers when I do a review, so this is my opinion on the merits of this book and the author’s talent and skill at bringing the story to life. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The gripping fourth book in Sophie J. Rivers' Ruthless Kings of Thornhaven series, Lords of Ruin: CHERISHED, picks up right where Book 3 left off. The Chessmen—fiercely loyal and bound by unbreakable ties—will stop at nothing to ensure their Queen survives. To them, she is the most vital piece on life's ruthless chessboard.

This installment delves deeper into their tangled relationships, exposing family betrayals, dangerous secrets, and the ultimate test of their loyalty.

Vincent battles against the expectations imposed on him by his father and stepmother. When the truth of his lineage shatters his world, he is left with one choice—prove he is worthy of the Beaumont name.

Cast remains an unwavering force beside Willow; losing her is unthinkable. She is his reason, his anchor, his everything. Even though he distrusts Vincent, he recognizes an opportunity—if he helps, he owns Vincent’s life.

Damien is caught in the turbulence of his love-hate bond with Willow. But this time, unlike before, he will do whatever it takes to ensure she survives.

Sophie J. Rivers masterfully weaves an electrifying narrative filled with secrets, shocking twists, and escalating tension. Each book in the series amplifies the intensity, drawing readers deeper into obsession, romance, and emotional growth. Through themes of healing, forgiveness, and love, CHERISHED delivers an unforgettable experience.

3⭐️ 3🌶️

Overall this series was fine/good but some of the bigger plot points were kind of quickly resolved and brushed over. There were lots of issues within the mafia in the first two books after the prequel and the grand reveal was kind of lackluster/disappointing.

I liked Willow a lot as the FMC. She has a lot of grace, empathy, radiates kindness and has a strength to her you don’t always see in books. Cast was a great character, had a lot to him and many different sides. The way he loves her is honestly beautiful to read. Vincent was the one who fell head over heels for Willow first and he is a complex character who is definitely possessive and likes control. Damien is one that finally comes around in this book after being kind of back and forth towards Willow in the previous books. His feelings were definitely the most complicated for Willow.

There were some additions to the book that went absolutely nowhere, as an example the whole raiders plot and them going after Jasmine.. it was something that seemed like a big deal but has no follow up or resolution. There are more examples like this but the books weren’t bad, they just weren’t the most amazing series I’ve ever read. Would I recommend it to someone who likes why choose romance? Probably.

Finally this book ends better than all the others because things makes sense. Although I never understood why Willow was super happy to kill the child perv guy previously but never turned into some mindless killer queen as Cast thought or Willow seemed so eager to become. That was a weird little addition to the story that didn't really make sense.

Anyhoo, we FINALLY get the group coming back together as a family here where things should have stayed but didn't. I guess the whole thing that all 3 men continually drove into the readers head about only caring about Willow's wellbeing, safety, and happiness flies out the window every 13 seconds when they are competing against their "brothers" for her. So many things don't make sense but in any case, this series is entertaining and very funny at times with the banter.

I absolutely LOVED this series. This is the final book in the series and I absolutely loved it.

This book we pick up with Willow in the hospital after the ending of the last book. We also see all the boys reunited after one of them has an accident and ends up in the hospital as well. Can these three boys do what they need to in order to keep Willow in their life? Can Willow find a heart that will keep her alive forever? Will they live happily ever after?

This series was absolutely fantastic. I have already recommended it to multiple people. I would love to read a book based on Jasmine's relationship(s). I fell in love with these characters and while I absolutely loved their happily ever after but hated to say goodbye to them. I have officially added Sophie Rivers to my favorite authors list and I look forward to reading more.

Fighting for their Forever Happiness -
Warning! Make sure you will have no interruptions before you start reading this book and I hope you don’t have heart problems, because this story will take you on one heck of a rollercoaster of emotions. Sophie J. Rivers did a great job with the end to the Ruthless Kings Of Thornhaven series, because the four main characters went on an epic journey that few people can endure, with relationships being tested, twisted family battled, dangerous incidents and long held secrets that turn out to be great. I can say without a shadow of doubt, that I had a truly amazing experience reading the entire series and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Taking a break or a breakup?

The final book has everyone kinda getting their act together. Or as best as 4 toxic people can do that. But this author really needed a decent editor. In the 2nd book, Willow’s dad is Tommy, but here it’s suddenly Teddy. There are subplots that never get resolved. Like why exactly are people trying to kill Willow? She’s in danger the entire series but the reason is vague.

There’s also a question of “did they break up or are they on a break?” And at least one of the guys cheated on page. He felt bad about it but it’s still cheating.
By the time I got to this book, I didn’t expect the writing or the plot to get any better. Just glad it’s over.

I read this series from first to last book in a day. Lemme tell you, this book was the perfect end to the series. The ups and downs fit perfectly. The ruthlessness of the guys read well and ofc I loved the Hockey player Damien. You will want to slap all the boys and shake your head at Willow, but it all fits perfectly. They will do anything and did what they had to for her. Read the series from book 1-4, otherwise you will be lost on what's happening.

From the very beginning this author has completely consumed me with The Ruthless Kings Of Thornhaven series. The final chapter of this series is no exception. The Chessmen have a hard fought battle in store for them with new
twists, turns and surprises that come into play. More secrets are revealed but on spite of it all, these characters are relentless in their love, obsession and possession of their queen. These characters and their journey is nothing short of perfection. What a fantastic, fitting finale' for the Chessmen and their Queen!

This is a new author to me and I got sucked into the series for the beginning. And this author went a different route than usual reverse harems books go, and I wasn’t exactly sure I was liking the way the characters were splitting up , but I kept ok going and am I glad I did cause I ended up LOVINg THE SH*T out of it 😂 the angst between the male characters was something to keep me going but man the love they all had for willow was everything. And poor willow, her situation brought tears to my eyes. All around great series and can’t wait o se what other books come out from this author.

5 Stars for Lords of Ruin : Cherished by Sophie J. Rivers

This read is not a standalone and Book 4 in the Ruthless Kings of Thornhaven

Cherished ..picks up immediately where we learn of Willow's health crisis and the accident for Damien that brings Cast , Vincent and her all back together again.

This is a well written why / can’t choose - with The Chessmen their is no choice.

Love overcomes all !!

I highly recommend this read !

This was a very good read. You do need to read the previous books before this one. They are all good reads. The characters are well balanced out and plot is compelling. World building was well thought out and intriguing. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Grab a copy , kick back and enjoy.

Excellent story

I became invested in the characters from the start. Sophia has amazed me with her writing. I cried, laughed and was wowed from The beginning. I reread it 2 times as so well written. I feel in love with Willow her strength and love for the men who became her everything. This book was one the best I ever read in awhile. You will be blown away with Willows journey. You won't be disappointed.

Brutal but loving

Willow, loved and is loved by 3 wonderful men, Cast, Vincent and Damien who have cared for her since senior school. She, however, has chronic heart disease and when the book behind we find that her heart, which was bequeathed to her by Damiens dying mum, was failing. She was then given a mechanical one and the four of them began to live their lives together.
Did everything work out...well you'll have to read this humdinger of a book to find out!!!

Lords of Ruin - Cherished is the 4th and final book in the Ruthless Kings of Thornhaven. To me though it was a bittersweet read but so much was thrown into it. Betrayal kept Willow, Cast and Vincent apart in the last book but injury and health issues bring them all back together in this book. Only for outside influences to try and stop their relationship. This was a great finale to this series and I enjoyed reading it.

Love the characters, but the storyline...

I don't know what happened with this book. It felt very jumbled and rushed. Ther were time jumps throughout all the books that you had to be aware of (Like Vincent's recovery being a few pages but was supposed to be months), but this book just had a funky flow. What happened to her friends who weren't the guys? What was the deal with Vincent's mom?

It was a nice tidy ending, but there's room for improvements.

The storyline is sooo good, yet has so many plot holes it's crazyyyy. All that said, oddly enough, the story kept me hooked, dying to know what came next and how this all played out. The thrilling conclusion to Willow, Cast, Vincent and Damien's story was off the charts. There were so many twists and turns I thought my neck would break 😅

IKYFL. You have a heart attack on your wedding day, with the man you CHOSE. The man that has ALWAYS shown up for you, then you shut him out while you're in the hospital, refusing to allow him to be there or even know anything... Just to jump another one of your men's bones the second he shows up?! Like girl. Stop playing with me! Stop playing with these men!

Despite it taking UNTIL THE EVERY LAST BOOK for Damien to come around, whewww am I glad he did. The spice was already hot, but man they turned up the heat with this one. Despite the heartbreak, twists and turns, and odd storylines that didn't add up or seemed to be quickly rushed through, I'm glad the story ended how it did. Willow seems happy, healthy with three men and babies. What more could a girl want!?

over the course of the series, you will find many reasons to both love and hate the mmcs. throughout the books Willow has faced many heartbreaking and loving moments. from the very beginning I felt like I was a part of the story. if you like a story that all the characters overcome many obstacles then this is a series for you. this one will stick with me for a long time.

Heart's on the Line

One of the best!

When you start with book 1 and realize it's only 71 pages I thought a good quick read. What it turned into was absolute amazing. The character development was insatiable. The scenes of intimacy were on point. Each character really formed into something special and it was a perfect finale! I love it and will reread again someday!!!

Wow

First in heartbroken that their love story has come to an end.
But wow what a book to go out with.
I've cried, I've laughed I've cried some more and then stitched back together with a beautiful hea.
My heart is still with Vincent but Damian has definitely settled in there too along with Cast.

The plot was interesting but so all over the place. A couple of times I had to reread the same thing a few times to understand what was going on because something happened and then the next page made no sense. Writing errors, misspelled words, mixed up names during POVs - to name a few. I read all 4 books, so they weren’t terrible. Just hard to read at times.

Nice happy ending

I had some struggles with this series, but it was a good story overall. There were some holes and things that didn't align that distracted me from getting too involved. I wanted more development and growth for the characters and the plot. It was wrapped up nicely, and everyone got a nice hea.
