When I was 15 years old, I died. Now, a decade later, I’m back, hidden in plain sight from the one person I thought I would never see again. I was told she wouldn’t come back. I was told she had moved on. Now she was home to stay. I knew she would never forgive me for what I did, because death was easier to accept than betrayal.

When I was 15 years old, I lost my best friend. After moving away, I swore to never come back, only to return years later when the one person who meant the world to me called needing my help. Diamond Creek never changed, except for the bikers who moved in across the road. They all seemed friendly enough, except for one, and I didn’t know why. He wanted nothing to do with me, and the feeling was mutual until I learned the truth. I should have known the dead never stayed dead, because when the truth about the past begins to unravel, I learn the very person who was supposed to protect me was the very person I should have feared

Ugh… another one bites the dust 🥴

SPOILERS SPOILERS

The h really holds onto her v card for more than 10 years… over a man who’s not really dead and has been spreading his seed while she’s been depressed about his not-really death 😐.

But it’s okay cause he’s a man and has only really wanted her 🥴 and, you know, men have needs 🙄 but women must remain celibate over a teenage “love” that “died” when she was 15 😵‍💫.

At least he didn’t sleep with any of the club women… just other random women… cause he has needs.

And they say romance is dead 😒.
I can’t with these double standards 😐.

And the kicker is he’s been back for years and didn’t try to pursue or clear things up. All these people knew he was alive and no one clued her in, not even the “H” 😐

Don’t you worry though. She forgives him quickly, cause who needs a good grovel these days🤷🏻‍♀️😐.

2.5 ⭐️

Everyone and their mothers know I am a sucker for MC romance, but this one was weak. Not a bad story, the plot was actually pretty cool and it had all to be better, but the execution made me tired. The thing is if you going to do the “he faked his death” trope, then at least make it in a way that when he comes back he is unrecognizable to EVERYONE and not just to the FMC, the fact that everyone recognizes him but Becca who was his best friend growing up and was madly in love with him is downright ridiculous 🙄
Ok 10 years had passed since his “death” but still everyone else recognized him immediately, so it made her look so stupid. Also I think what irked me the most is because I felt the betrayal more than she did it 😂 . I was fuming that everyone knew and no one told her, even her best friends and grandma. I was ready for the good old groveling that never came. When she finds out in the WORST way possible and even felt used because yeah I forgot that she was 25 and a virgin even though she thought he was dead because she never felt anything for anyone…. Ok it’s fine but the he has her first as he was still lying to her about who he was and she finds out publicly in front of the whole club, loses her grandma minutes after and she stayed mad at him for approximately 2.25 seconds ….. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? I was mad at him the entire time even though he had great reasons beyond his power to lie at first, but not after she came back.
The character I really liked and maybe I’ll read about it is KING the president and maybe I’ll read Ryder the best friend case he also got spunk. Also this book was missing all the motorcycle club elements that makes those romances amazing. Basically no fights, no violence, NO GROVELING (inadmissible), so yep after so many 5⭐️ reads for me I guess it’s ok when I find a book I don’t like it 😂

I don't get the high ratings. Maybe it's me? Just feels like this book was written by a teenager to be honest. The h Beck was so annoying. I loathe characters like this. She came off as bitchy, and ridiculous at first. She freaks out about the MC and tries to tell all the other women about them being a red flag. Women unite! Good forbid when a biker opens up your car door!! She acts better than everyone else, but yes let's blame her mother for her being uppity. Her dialogue was immature. She didn't sound like she was a 25 yr old woman. Micah growled... All the time. His language was growling. She even started hearing growling in her subconscious. But his character was ok I guess? Better than Beck that's for sure. If you enjoy club girls being OTT and trying to steal your man this isn't the book for you. Everyone's friendly and don't you dare slut shame those club girls. They're just protective of their bikers. Give me a break. Also, the story made no sense with her not being able to recognize Micah aka Blade while everyone else easily knew it was him. She's dumb, but supposed to be smart and has a degree in journalism? Don't think so. This story didn't convince me of anything. There are a lot of side characters and I disliked them all. Especially Avery. For the short time we're introduced to her. I'm really not hopeful for future FMCs to come. They're all extremely immature. Well, I guess King the Prez was ok. Anyways, sorry for the low rating. 🙈

Safety: FB said it was angsty. It was not. People threw in quotes that sounded angsty, but they were said when he was 15 and they were just friends. Micah liked Beck more, but I got no real emotion from Beck for Micah as a teen or as an adult. She was so flat. A lot of telling and not showing. One gripe I have, but I'm not a victim of SA to this degree. So I can't say anything really. She gets hit in the face and almost gets raped yet 10 minutes later tells Blade to make out with her. 🤷 Yeah, I don't know either. Also, it'll annoy readers that she's a virgin and would have stayed that way because the love of her life "died" at age 15. His father's actually a POS that put his family in danger where they had to join witness protection. Anyways, she's only ever kissed Blade and has zero desire to kiss or have relations with anyone else. The author uses her depression for this, but she's like a cat in heat when she first sees Blade 🙃. It's just meant to be! Also, I know I should be mad on the h's behalf for everyone lying to her about Micah being alive, but I couldn't care less. Everyone said he was a massive asshole as well. We must be reading some different books because this was child's play. 😆

Wait!!! I forgot Beck doesn't like to cuss. She says dagnabbit all the time, and according to her. ANYONE who cusses is showing a lack of intelligence.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: second chance (kinda)
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Absolutely loved it! There is nothing that I love more than finding a brand new author who completely rocks my world, and Ann Silver totally delivered. You would never know this is her first book. I read this in one day and stayed up way past bedtime to finish, lol - I just couldn't put it down. There is a ton of action, some drama, and twists that will knock you back. Blade and Beck's chemistry is off the charts. Their story is told with some flashbacks to fill in the holes in their relationship, and it is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster ride for both of them (and me, lol). I laughed. I got teary. Just all the feels ❤️. Blade has a unique, well-written storyline that ultimately draws you in and leaves you needing more of all the characters in this world. The teaser for the next book had me yelling at my Kindle, wanting more! Can't wait!

~ childhood besties
~ 25 year old pining virgin

✅ no ow drama

Major Spoilers: GRs didn’t highlight my notes so this review is a little different than most.

The heroines best friends and her grams were hiding the fact the hero is alive when she thinks he’s dead. Massive betrayal. Meanwhile the Zero is hoping Becks, the heroine, would have gotten married and had a few kids before she ever came back, if at all. That’s some True love right there *sarcasm*. She’s still pining over him and he’s avoiding her, carrying on with his life happily, even AFTER he’s free to go back to her bc he saw her holding a guy’s hand 🤦‍♀️.

When Beck ends up back in town and Blade can’t avoid her anymore he’s an asshole to her and of course jealous bc she dares flirt with an old friend. Grams chastises Beck for not giving Blade a chance when he’s been nothing but rude to her.

The reason she’s still a v card holder at 25…”“You are a very attractive man, Grant. I just, I don’t think a relationship is in the cards for me, ever.” I stared out my window, thinking about the boy that I loved with everything in me. He took everything when he died, leaving nothing left for anyone else.”

Meanwhile said boy is still pissed she came back to town, can’t have her, but gets jealous and follows her everywhere. He’s not a manwhore, but sleeps with girls away from town. I would have been fine with that if the heroine wasn’t a virgin.

So during this date with her ex Grant, he turns into a jerk and assaults her. Of course the MC sends Blade to get her even though she called his friend, THEN she very randomly asks him to kiss her for good dreams…bc her Grams and friend have a good opinion of him so they must know better 🤦‍♀️ This girl has no original thoughts in her head.

All the sudden she goes from never wanting to be in an MC to head over heels with a patched member she still doesn’t know is her dead teen love!

Someone save my iPad.

So then our zero makes the heroine tell him all about her memories of him, their first kiss and how she felt after he died. As if that’s not bad enough he then takes her v card before telling her who he really is. That’s just rage read territory. I’m at 70% and I just don’t buy he ever loved her or that he loves her now. He’s just jealous. The only reason he came back to town was because he thought she would never come back. But he couldn’t handle other guys being interested. A true Zero.

“She told me you would never come back here.”
She gasped. “You didn’t want me. You were hiding from me, weren’t you?” I nodded my head, knowing I would never lie to her again.” 70%

Anyways, she quickly forgives everyone for the YEARS of betrayal. QUICKLY. Please forgive me? No. Please? Oh alright.

There’s a twist with her father that’s the best part of the whole book and even better bc it meant her uncle hit on her 😂. Now that would have made for an interesting book. There’s definite plot holes- like Blade was very close to Gram and Blade would have figured out the heroine hadn’t moved on like he thought, or Gram and Rach would have told him, so that part made no sense.

In Short…nope do not recommend.

Spoiler Alert

I personally can't get over the betrayal of EVERY SINGLE FREAKING PERSON IN THIS TOWN! I almost threw my devise and deleted it when he slept with her a without telling the truth. I was even upset when Willow died because she was the one person that should have had her back, but she lied and manipulated her. The minute she forgave him. I was done.

I enjoyed some parts of this story but not convinced on how someone wouldn’t recognise a person they supposedly loved & knew very well. An ok debut novel.

This is a new author to me and after reading Blade…..well I will be looking out for more 😜

Beck, returning to her hometown, to be with her Grams after being recalled home, is not wanting to stay long where her heartbreak still remains

Blade, loves Grams to bits and will do anything for her, isn’t ready to feel his heart beating again after ‘dying’ and losing Beck (Becca/Rebecca)

What will she do when she’s finds out???

What danger is lurking on the doorstep???

Will they ever be together???

This book is AMAZING!!!!!! And talk about 🥵😜🥵

A deffo MUST read now!!!!!!

And then the ending 😱😱😱

I started this series as it runs parallel and crosses over with Rebecca Joyce’s MC world, now I’m reading it on its own merit.
I really got in to the back story of Blade and Beck, the trauma of losing her best friend as a teen in a car crash before she could tell him how she really felt about him caused a total block on her emotional state, she got on with her life … sort of but never had a relationship beyond a couple of dates. Her mum moved her away from the town she knew, her other 2 friends and her grams. She played on Becks pain convincing her she’d never heal with the memories.
A decade passes and her Grams asks her to come back to help look after her (she’s a crafty one). In that time Grams has sold some land to Silver Shadows MC who have adopted her as everyone’s Grams .
One brother in particular facilitated that land sale, Blade is that boy who died , who Becks loved, who Grams, Ryder and Rachel all recognised but Becks didn’t… mental block maybe .
There are a few more shocks along the way for Becks, some huuuuge ones

OMG what an amazing storyteller Anne Silver is, she has a gift for telling an epic tale. I was literally held hostage by this novel till I got to the end. I absolutely loved Blade and Beck’s story ❤️❤️❤️ it gave me an in-depth look into their lives and the characters of the Silver Shadows MC. I cannot say enough about how brilliant and captivating this book was, I urge everyone to give it a read, you won’t be sorry. A definite page turner and spectacularly entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤

Good, but...

So, I really liked the writing. There were a few grammatical errors, but not enough to dissuade me from continuing to read the book.

My issues were the following:

The ending was too quick, too sudden and just plain meh!

The sexy scenes were so bland I almost didn't realize they were having sexy time. Look, I'm not talking about pages and pages of raw, unfiltered kink. I'm talking about sexy steamy scenes where your glasses (if you wear glasses) get steamed up from the spiciness. Wanting to feel the connection between the FMC and the MMC during their intimate moments. This book was very bland in that department.

The other thing that bothered me a little was Beck's just a little annoying. Specifically, I felt she was a little judgemental. I saw the prospects being assigned to protecting the ladies, not for controlling, or as some kind of surveillance, but as protecting the one you love.

For the most part, I did enjoy the book even though the spiciness was like 🌶 out 5, and Beck annoyed me a little. Micah was awesome, especially after finding out his reasons for letting her go.

I'll give the second book a try, and hopefully, it'll get better.

This is my first book by Ann Silver and I believe it is her debut as well.

I enjoyed the book. There are a few things that held me back from a five-star review including a bit of a predictable storyline in places and some areas where editing needed improvement. There were two specific places where I had to stop to think what word the author really meant to use as opposed to what was written. But that happens occasionally. I didn't find the volume of editing errors off-putting. Most people would probably look past them.

Conversely, I enjoyed the character development and the placement of several threads that will lead us to future stories in the world Ms. Silver has built. Starting with, I assume, the discovery in Wal-Mart.

I will read future books to see what happens to these characters. I think the books will only get better as time goes on.

Where to start with this one!
Blade is book 1 of the new Silver Shadows MC and is the debut novel of this new author. It's Beck and Blades incredible journey! Both beautiful and heartbreaking this story has it all. This author has come out of the gate running and has hit a major homerun with her first novel! This story consumes it's readers from the start and does not let go long after you've finished. Their journey is utter perfection with just the perfect amount of spice, surprises, twists, turns and drama. Well done Ms. Silver I can't wait to see what you bring next!

15 years ago Micha died and Blade was born, tearing apart Becks world, now she's back in town to help her Grams surprised to find a Biker club opposite her Grams place and that she was friends with the rowdy group. But one biker stood out, Blade, he rubbed Becks up the wrong way and for good reason he couldn't afford for her to know he was alive, but he couldn't let her go either, what will happen when the past comes back I'm more ways than one!. Well written the story and characters draw you in with suspense, desires, heart ache, steamy scenes, angst drama and more, a great 1st read from a debuting author! Can't wait for more!

At just 15 years old, tragedy stole Beck’s best friend and soul mate. Grief-stricken, she left and vowed never to return. Reluctantly, 10 years later, she returns to Diamond Creek after pleas from her Grams to look after her. Nothing in the town has changed except the new neighbours, the Silver Shadows MC, and her Grams' involvement with them.

What a fantastic debut book from Ann Silver! I was hooked from the very first page and just could not put it down. There is so much going on, great characters, plot twists, drama, tension, secrets, betrayals, and danger.

The last line of this book has me excited to read more from this series.

that cliffhanger !!

Micah and Becca had a drama filled life from their initial meeting until the very end . We get heartfelt emotions , rocky relationships and longing like no other . There’s something about two souls that are meant to be intertwined that put you in your feels .

The club guys and girls are so wholesome , even the moody ones . Micah had that growl thing going for him and I loved that Becca didn’t take shit from any of them . The fact that they all came together for the old lady melted my heart . Then we get a cliffhanger that made me gasp like oh damn ! Can’t wait for book 2

This book had me right at the blurb, I mean, come on! He died at 15 but now is back?!?! And it only got better. I loved this unique twist. All the backstory we got from Blade and Becca, from age 7 to 15, was beautiful. I also enjoyed the groveling Blade had to do when Becca found out who he really was. Add in the found family, and the surprise at the end, and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book. Hop on and take a ride with Blade. You'll enjoy every minute of it. I definitely recommend this one!

outstanding

This is well written with characters that will win your heart. The plot was well played. It has lots of emotional drama, mysteries to unravel, romantic angst and surprise announcements. I am going to buy a copy of this one for my own. I have a feeling I will be re-reading it often. HEA, no cheating (by Blade and is lady), no cliffhanger of their story, just a sneak peak into the next book. Highly recommend this one. She is a new author that I am going to start following.

Wowzie. Great read. Loved the characters, all of them in the MC and the side females. This little jem has the perfect blend of humor, action, and plot twists. I was not expecting the little jewel at the end. For hardcore MC fans, there wasn't much in the way of bikers other than one small altercation but the other action going on filled the gap. My favorite characters were Jackass and King, but Blade was a little sweetie. I do think the MFC should have stayed mad a bit longer and her 'father' should have taken Blade out behind the wood shed. That said, this read will not disappoint.

A Slow Start But It Makes A Mark Eventually

Ok so the header pretty much covers it all. It’s a very slow start to this book in places it starts getting a little cringeworthy with her not knowing who Blade actually is to her. But when the action and plot picks (60-70%) it makes it all worthwhile.
The character progression is exemplary together with the world building giving the reader a good feel of the main characters and the small town America that it’s set in.
I know I’ll be reading the rest of the series.

Love at the wring time

I really wasn't sure what to expect going on in this book as this is a new author for me. Let me just say that I will be reading this entire series this month.

Fate had other plans for this couple. Time apart and tragedy was to make them better. Time apart meant Becca losing what mattered most in her life. Micha lost the same.

I loved the way that the brothers rallied around the couple. I loved the batter between the brothers as well. Each character had a place in the plot of the story. I can't wait to get into the next book.

After a heartbreaking tragedy involving her childhood love, Beck left town vowing never to return. When her grandma claims she needs her help, Beck reluctantly comes home. Blade can't decide if this is his chance to right his wrongs or keep the past buried, join them as they navigate the somewhat treacherous path back to true love and what's meant to be. I'm looking forward to the next one! Just read it.

I really enjoyed this book and it's one of my favorite reads of the year! Beck is a great FMC. Her story is heartbreaking and also relatable. Going through the loss of a loved one is hard. Everyone grieves differently and the process can take years. I enjoyed the back and forth between Beck and Blade. It's always nice when the FMC pushes back. Blade was great, even though he got himself into a big mess. And the twists I didn't see coming!!! I can't wait to see where this series goes!

Great read!!!

I found this author through a recommendation in a reader group and I’m glad I followed through.
Blade and Beck are the couple who start this series. We get a great introduction to a whole cast of characters that make up this MC. We get a little bit of sadness too.
Their story is not easy and a bit frustrating at times - you’ll want to smack them both upside the head for the nonsense but in the end, you’ll end up cheering them on.
Great read!

This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, loss, grief, challenges, secrets, lies, unexpected twists, humour, witty banter, heartbreak, undeniable chemistry, tension, revelations, and unconditional love, which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and captivating addictive page turner.

One of the better MC stories

Ms. Silver did a great job with the plot of Blade. There are twists that definitely keep you turning pages.

The characters are well developed with complicated histories. My thoughts on Micah is he is a coward and Becca should have made him grovel a while. Supporting characters are awesome.

Part if the ending was predictable but there was so much more going on it didn't detract from the story.
