GunnerOkay, let me be clear. I was not stalking her. I was intently watching her. From the moment my Little Lamb tried to throw her drink in my face, I knew she was mine. Fate kept putting her in my path, so of course I took the hint. Now, my brothers called it stalking. I called it protecting. When my Little Lamb is called to help after an attack, I learn she carries the weight of everyone else’s needs. I can also see what that weight is doing to her. Good thing I’m the Sargeant at Arms of the Silver Shadows, because no one is more qualified to shoulder her needs than my giant ass.
As a trained therapist, it’s my job to listen and help others with their problems. I love my job and I’m good at it, but I’m lousy with my own needs. When I try to put myself out there, my disciplined, uncomplicated world spins out of control. All because of one giant ass biker with a voice that curls my toes. His whispered promises are everything my heart desires and my body demands I submit. Too bad my rational brain refuses to listen.
Everything comes to a head when I’m forced to make a split-second decision and when I finally stop resisting the big bad wolf, I learn that submission isn’t about surrendering, it’s about the thrill of an unknown desire.

Totally hit it out of the park! Gunner is a stand-alone but ends on a series cliffhanger. And what a series cliffhanger! The character development is phenomenal, the story moves very well, and the plot has lots of complex relationships that will keep you guessing while easily holding your interest! Can't wait to see what's next!
I liked this book and was going to give it three stars at first—but now that I’ve finished it, I’m actually annoyed. I don’t even know why. Thinking back on it now, there were subtle things that made me frustrated and kept me from fully enjoying the book.
One issue is that we didn’t really get any kind of romantic bond between Gunner and Haizley. It felt more like lust—him wanting her, her pushing him away—and then suddenly they got together in a relationship that was kind of BDSM-esque (and I’m saying that lightly).
Also, there were at least five moments in the book where Gunner was talking about other females—how they liked when he did certain things, how the women at the club knew his preferences, etc.—and it just started to grate on me.
Then there was the whole push-and-pull dynamic. He wanted her, she was strongly rejecting him, acting hot and cold, and it just didn’t feel authentic when they finally got together. Honestly, I think it would’ve made more sense if, at some point, when she pushed him away, he actually stayed away—like she asked him to.
Gunner, the grumpiest SAA in Diamond Creek, meets Haizley, a therapist with a penchant for tossing drinks like a bartender on a bad day. After a disastrous first encounter, they're forced to team up to help Aspen, a victim of a serial rapist that drugged women, because what could possibly go wrong? As they work together, Gunner tries to protect Haizley while being a creepy stalker, unbeknownst to her, and Haizley attempts to unravel the mystery behind the attacks. Buckle up for a helluva ride with lotsa hot sex, secrets, and sass in Ann Silver's latest book. Welcome back to Diamond Creek, where the drama is always dialed up to eleven and the bikers are sexier than ever. I love this MC series by Ann Silver's as well as the way she creates a perfect story that leaves u holding on tight to those handlebars!!
This series series never fails to keep me on the edge of my seat! This author never fails to bring a story that's consuming, intense, funny, gritty and dramatic. I love Haizley! As with the other women in this club, Haizley is a spunky, sassy woman. But Gunner knows that she's tired of carrying everything on her own and he's just the one to carry the load for, or with her. These two had me in stitches most of the time. I laughed so much at the banter between them and then there were the moments when we get to see behind the masks that melts the heart. Trouble is always knocking on the Shadows door but it's taken care of, it's all the surprises that left me wondering what would be coming next. Gunner is fantastic and another great addition to the Silver Shadows series.
Another Shadow has fallen...Hard! Gunner is the SAA for the Silver Shadows. Haizley is a therapist who mainly works with patients online. A disastrous first meeting ends with Haizley throwing a drink on Gunner. But after another woman is drugged at the local bar, the two are thrown together again. Haizley wants to help Aspen work through what happened to her. Gunner wants to protect Haizley. As the feisty, sassy therapist and the giant, growly SAA work together to help Aspen and find who did this, danger of course comes calling. More secrets are uncovered, some questions are answered and more are raised. Ann Silver has written an angsty, roller coaster ride of a book that left me eagerly anticipating the next one. Welcome back to Diamond Creek. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
There was nothing wrong with the writing or even the content of the book. I just have trouble with dom/sub sometimes. There are the ones that are more laid back and it's more sensual. Then there are the ones that are like this one, where the man is bordering on being an asshole, not just a dominant personality. Also have a hard time with the guys who want to control EVERYTHING the women do, not so bad inside the bedroom, but I struggle with it when they also want the same submission out of it. Sometimes it feels like that takes away from their personality. Just a personal like/dislike I have.
This series just gets better and better with each book! Gunner is my favorite of the series so far. From the moment he meets Haizley he knows she's the one. Once he decides to stop fighting his feelings she makes him work to win her over. In the midst of all this they are still trying to figure out who is going around attacking women. I noticed the little bread crumbs throughout the story leading to the truth and enjoyed it. Haizley is a great FMC. I loved the push and pull between Haizley and Gunner. And the banter was fantastic! And that ending.... I can't wait to read what comes next!
When Gunner the handsome club SAA first meets Haizley in a bar, he immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion, but yet can’t get her out of his head. Pretty soon he is obsessed with the petite therapist to the point of stalking. Haizley is sassy and feisty and gives him a run for his money.
What a fabulous, gripping page turner: plenty of action, tension, drama, secrets and great characters.
Ann planted plenty of seeds throughout, some haven’t germinated yet and has left me waiting impatiently for more in the series. I want to give more than 5*
First up, there are triggers. Make sure you read the list. After you read them, make sure you strap yourself in for a great read. It will be hard to put it down.
Hazley hasn't had anyone in her corner for a long time. Her parents died, friends drifter away. There has been no one to rely on but herself. That is until she meets Gunner. Something about her draws in in and he claims her. But she doesn't want to be claimed by the biker man, until that night. Great story of two people butting heads and trying to figure things out.
This is the fourth book in this phenomenal series and this is Gunner and Haizley's story. This is a well written action packed, easy to read, emotionally charged story, with found family, friendships, loyalty, danger, suspense, intrigue, challenges, humour, witty banter, loss, grief, undeniable chemistry, healing, and unconditional love, which all leads to an entertaining, tragic, twisted, and unconditional, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Gunner’s book certainly didn’t disappoint, he is one of my favourites and I absolutely loved the relationship he has with Haizley ❤️❤️❤️ I get excited when Ann plants a seed in her stories and I spend the whole book wondering if I’m right. Oh Gunner…I knew your story was going to be amazing and I am not disappointed. Wow!!! Gunner and Haizley have a phenomenal tale to share. I love them for each other - the perfect puzzle pieces. So much MC drama, intrigue, hardheaded Alphamale, sadness & happiness and a heartwarming HEA. And that ending!!!!!! Absolutely loved it!
Gunner and Haizley don't habe a great first meet but he's drawn to her like no other, he can see the shadows she hides whilst helping everyone around her whose there to help her, so he steps up to be the one she needs wether she knows it or not. Engaging well written fun loving action and more
Didn’t read the books from the other series as I struggled to read them, so missed out important info a new names, I think a brief outline of the new peeps and what happened would be helpful
Gunner protects everyone in the club and they need it. But hrs fallen for the new therapist in town in a big way. But stalking her is his way to show he care as drama in town spills over . Great addition to the series.
The book was like reading on of her others. I do recommend going in order when reading the books. I had read Cash before this one so it felt like parts are repeated.
Ahh this story, and these cliff hangers. What a great story. Gunnar and Haizley are awesome together and som many red threads are slowly merging. I can't wait for more
