1. Rough
Dr. Audrey Ames had recently moved to Cooper Valley and worked at Community General Hospital. When the regular rodeo doctor needed a replacement, Audrey volunteered. Straight out of the shoot, Abe, one of the bull-riders, broke his finger and required a splint. That's where Boyd found more than he expected. Oh, have you heard about Boyd? He's the rodeo bull-riding champion from Wolf Ranch over in Cooper Valley. His reputation as a hit it and quit it playboy precedes him. And he has a HUGE secret, he's a shifter. So when his wolf gets a whiff of Dr. Ames, it declares her his mate, which blows Boyd's mind since she's a human! Reneé Rose and Vanessa Vale have combined their efforts and created such a heartfelt story with characters who are so easy to love or hate, and trust me, you'll know who they are. There is absolutely nothing in this book I did not like, and I can't wait to read "Wild" next. Congratulations, ladies.

Boyd's already claimed Audrey, but they're getting married in this book. Yes, you read that right. Marina, Audrey's half-sister, is coming in for the wedding from LA, and Colton, Boyd's brother, has taken leave from North Carolina for the same thing. When these two meet in the middle of a thunderstorm, the electric charge is from more than lightning. I love the talent Reneé Rose and Vanessa Vale bring to this series. The characters are so flawed with such BIG personalities, it's easy for them to be relatable. I wasn't sure how this one would work out, but it was wonderful. I can't wait to see where they take us with "Feral".

3. Feral
Oh, I've been waiting for this one! Somehow, I knew Rob's future would be tied to the woman who inherited the house on the other side of Markle's property. What I didn't realize was all the twists and turns that would come with what Reneé Rose, Vanessa Vale, and Fate had put in place. This book grabbed on and the chemistry between our hero and heroine, and all the excitement from the twists and turns in the plot, it didn't let go until I finished. I loved it and was so excited there was an additional bit to be had when I finished the book!!

Loved all of the Wolf brothers

When they find their fated mates, there is nothing that will keep them away. Boyd Wolf is the youngest and gets hit with his fated mate first. He is also the most rowdy of the 3 brothers but when Audrey comes into his life, he makes big changes. Colton was middle brother and the dirty talking daddy home for a wedding when he finally finds his mate but he thinks she is too young and needs to be free to live her life, not knowing that he is exactly what she wants. So, he and Marina struggle with miscommunication for a while. And, last but not least is the oldest and Pack Alpha, Rob. He struggles with needing to mate with a she-wolf to preserve the pack's leniege but beloved he's found his human mate at the ranch next door. She is pretending to be the deceased owner's niece when actually Willow is an undercover DEA agent investigating another neighbor. Rob can't stay away from her but knows he should. There is a HEA for all 3 couples with a surprise or two that you may or may not see coming. Loved the sexy, dirty talking shifter cowboys at Wolf Ranch.

Story line

I enjoyed this book and it's story line. However, I could have done without so much of the sex talk. I understand, but I enjoy more of the adventures that happen and how they work through those things. I would have given it a 5 if it had less sex talk. It just seemed like too much. It got to the point I was skipping past most of those parts.

I wish I had listened to the Audible sample before downloading this 3 book set. But after scanning my options and ruling out all the reverse harem stories (just not my kink) I thought an adult romance series based on wolf-shifter modern cowboys might be a fun read. I’m only through the first 10 chapters of the first book yet I feel completely comfortable writing this review. I guess the unimaginative series title Wolf Ranch for a series built around a bunch of wolf shifter brothers with the surname wolf that own a Montana ranch should have been my first clue. The second should have been in the very opening of the story, the first couple of paragraphs, the way the male protagonist champion bull rider Boyd Wolf talks about how horny he is, and how he has his pick of any of the hot, scantily dressed buckle bunnies (most of whom he’s already been with) to sink his cock into tonight after he wins his event today. Which since being a wolf-shifter gives him an unfair advantage over the human bull riders his winning is a foregone conclusion. I like sexy stories but books where the sex more or less becomes the story not so much.
The good: There’s actually an okay semi-suspenseful romance in here squeezed between all the talk. of hard aching cocks, hard aching nipples and wet aching pussies and many, many sex scenes. As a guy the female protagonist Aubrey Ames M.D.worked for me. Unlike Boyd who sounds like he like the majority of contemporary romance male protagonists walked off the pages of Mens Fitness Magazine, Aubrey is sort of an every woman character whom female readers can relate to. She wears glasses and because she considers herself a few pounds overweight and not a size two, she has some minor body issues. Despite being a little shy and self-conscious about her body, she has some sexual kinks that Boyd is more than happy to help her explore. The male protagonist Boyd Wolf is typical for this genre primarily written by women for a female audience. He’s tall, broad shouldered, has eight pack abs, a narrow waist with a big thick cock that hangs between his powerful thighs that he knows how to use. And of course he has a jaw line so sharp it could cut glass to go with his piercing eyes and sexy bad boy smirk. No doubt you can expect more of the same from his brothers who serve as the male protagonists in the rest of the series.
The bad: As much as I enjoy sex in my adult romances, IMHO the author went overboard here with all the talk of the aforementioned hard cocks, blue balls, hard nipples and dripping wet pussies and sex. I mean I love lusty explicit sex scenes in my romances as much as the next red blooded guy, but even for me there’s such a thing as too much of a good thing.. It’s comically ironic that during one phone sex scene Aubrey tells us as a doctor she’s used to using clinical names for body parts. This after already referring to her own vagina as a pussy several times. Then there’s Boyd who resists fucking Audrey on their first unofficial date because he wants to prove to her he wants her for more than another notch on his bedpost. He wants to get to really know her and she him. Because unknown to Aubrey they are fated mates. But in the same breath he freely acknowledges to her that he plans to fuck her brains out on their second date after he shows her around town. How patient and romantic can a guy be? Not that Aubrey whose body feels a shocking, uncontrollable, inexplicable desire for Boyd really wants to wait. She was more than ready to jump his bones after the first evening they spent together. My other problem with this story was because I was listening to an Audible book, and they only used one voice actor, a woman, when playing the part of the female protagonists characters she did fine even if the women characters all tended to sound the same. But when she was playing the part of Boyd or any male character it was like a woman who was lowering her voice trying and failing to sound like a man. Which is exactly what it was. Or even worse, a prepubescent boy before his voice fully changes. It was more than a bit unsettling for me to listen to someone who sounds like an eleven year old boy saying sexy dirty talk.
So while I'm certain the background stories and personalities of the main protagonists and the actual story lines may change from book to book in this series, I’m also pretty certain the whole fated mate, intense, impossible to ignore sexual attraction which they’ll attempt to fight because the female protagonists are probably human and not shifters, but fail to still managing to talk about and have lots of sex will be constant through the rest of the series. If you enjoy what I would consider really trashy, sexy paranormal romances you’ll probably like this series. Otherwise, be forewarned.
