Beau McBride reckons he’s ready for marriage. But his ego is bigger than his brain, and his little sister Junebug can’t trust him to find the right woman. So they make a bet, both placing ads in the Matrimonial News for mail-order brides. But when she discovers that Beau has already made his pick, Junebug decides to even the odds ... by inviting six more brides to meet her brother.

Ellie Neale doesn’t expect much from life – and life hasn’t given her much, except a head full of daydreams and her beautiful best friend Diana. Beau McBride wants a wife, and when he puts an advertisement out, he wants the first one that answers the add. His younger sister Junebug decides she wants to give him some more options (and maybe win a bet she has with him) and invites six more brides to meet her brother.

Amy Barry is one of the more underrated historical romance authors of our time. The McBrides of Montana series should be way more popular than it is. All three books in this series have been consistently good, and while this one wasn't as good as the first two for me, it was almost there. Barry's strongest quality is the characters and community she's written mixed with her humorous tone. I always love reading about Junebug's antics and seeing what she has up her sleeve for her brothers. It's always a good time!

I have been gnawing at the bars of my enclosure waiting for another McBrides of Montana book, and when I saw the announcement for this, I was HYPE. Unfortunately, this doesn't get a physical release in the US until April 2026, but the e-book was out and I paid FULL PRICE for this sucker (I never buy an e-book in full because I'd rather just get it physically :3)

Seven Brides for Beau McBride takes us back to Montana, and we catch up with more of Junebug's schenanigans. Instead of secretly getting a mail-order bride for her brothers, Beau actually requests one. If Junebug picks a good wife, she gets a trip to the circus, but if Beau's bride is the one he marries, she gets nothing. Beau ends up sending letters to Diana, a beautiful woman whose looks don't even come close to her beautiful heart. When he invites Diana over, he doesn't realize Junebug has also invited seven other brides to get the best chance of winning. Beau has his heart set on the beautiful Diana, but he's too afraid to talk to her. Talking comes easily to Diana's best friend, who dresses like a potato sack, Ellie. What Beau doesn't know won't kill him, right?

I really had no idea where this story was going for the first 50%. I knew the love interest was different from what I initially assumed, but I didn't realize how long it'd take to get us there. I actually read this series because I was searching for more yeehaw romance in stores (before cowboy romance REAALLLLY hit the mainstream and it was EVERYWHERE), and I'd heard Leen from VivaFalasteen speak on how this series is incredibly underrated, and I decided to give it a shot. Both books prior to this, Kit McBride Gets a Wife and Marrying Off Morgan McBride are some of my ALL-time favorites. Both are five-star reads for me. This one is just great!

It's silly, romantic, and still carries the tension the other McBrides of Montana books have, but also adds in even more of the family aspect! I just found the first half to be so slow that I couldn't rate this any higher than a four. It really dragged for me romance-wise, but the family and the friendship plotlines were still very strong.

Overall, I hope we get more books in this series! I'm definitely going to preorder the paperback!

I started this series as part of a Goodreads group buddy read without high expectations. Imagine my surprise when the first book addicted me, convincing me to continue reading the series. Book two was just as funny and heart touching so I went straight in book three, Seven Brides for Beau McBride, and loved every hilarious scene. Four older brothers have raised their little sister Junebug and she's a little spitfire. Having grown up on a mountain with little access to the outside world and others, Junebug has an "innocence" that defies her age and yet she's smart as a whip and loves using "big" words she's learned as she goes around bemoaning the fact that she considers herself virtually a slave to the care of her brothers. All this leads to Junebug ordering mailorder brides for her unsuspecting brothers to help her with the cooking, cleaning, washing, etc., and let me tell you, it hits the fan when they arrive! The scenes are hilarious and yet authentic to the time period. I'm a fan for life of Author Amy Barry and can't wait for more. Please tell me we get "Junebug's story" sometime soon! Highly recommended to fans of historical romance who love a good laugh.

Oh my goodness, I feel beyond blessed to have been sent an early copy of this book. Just like Kit and Morgan, Beau did not disappoint and I LOVED his story.

I have been desperate to get back to Bucks Creek and Bitterroot and what a trip it turned out to be.

In this book we start out with Beau telling Junebug that he wanted a wife and saying he was going to find one in the matrimonial newspaper. Junebug as we all know, has a lot of experience in this area after advertising for a wife for both Kit and Morgan. They argue about the details and how he should go about it but in the end it becomes a competition between the siblings, let the fun begin.

One of the things I love about this series is seeing Junebug growing up, in this one we definitely can tell she’s not the very young and naive girl we first met in Kits book.

This also meant some spice was added in and I thought that was done really well too, not over the top but perfect for the book.

This book was brilliant, Junebugs antics were hilarious and I lost count at how many times I laughed out loud.

Great storyline filled with so many great characters and a whole lot of shenanigans.

Loved seeing a different side to Beau, it was nice seeing him vulnerable and open to falling in love.

One of the things I always love with Amy’s writing is the imagery, she always makes you feel like you are actually there in the places she describes and I love that a lot.

I don’t think my review does this book justice, I don’t want to spoil anything but I always struggle to write down what I’m thinking on paper. All I can say is get this book, read the first two if you haven’t already too, you will not be disappointed.

This was a subtle nod to Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Bachelor. I've enjoyed this series and find it clever how the author finds new ways to employ the mail-order bride trope. It can get a bit campy at times, with June Bug's antics and the whole "seven mail-order brides" debacle, but the romance was entertaining. This started a bit slow for me, but it did pick up. Overall, I feel that the story and character development were somewhat lacking. Maybe just the secondary characters. There were seven brides, but five of them were superfluous. Also, Beau and Junebug's brothers flitted in and out a couple of times, but never felt substantial. The story revolved around four characters who, most of the time, seemed to be the only ones in the town. Yet, there were so many other characters. Whatever, the romance was cute.

I love The Bachelor-style romances and when I heard that we were being blessed with a third The McBrides Of Montana book with this trope, I was so excited! I do quite enjoy this series and this one was so good too. I loved the banter, the cowboy era America and the steamy romance that I love from Amy Barry. The only minor let downs were Junebug (I understand her existence as a character, but she’s so annoying) and the miscommunication trope. Other than that, a really good continuation of the series and I’m hoping for a book four or sequel series.

This historical romance series that has the youngest sister of four brothers finding wives for each of them just keeps getting better and better. It's hilarious, heartfelt and just cozy fun. I'm so sad that it doesn't seem to have much popularity in America and there doesn't look like the last couple (?) books are under contract even.

I really hope we get to see the conclusion to these character's stories, I would ESPECIALLY love a June Bug romance fast forwarded to when she's older. She is such a unique, one of kind girl. It's also great on audio narrated by Karissa Vacker who is one of my favs!

In this latest, June Bug arranges for EIGHT women to come woo Beau, making for a somewhat awkward reality dating show type situation. Beau only has eyes for Ellie though, not even realizing she is the author of the letters he has been exchanging with who he thinks is her best friend. Mistaken identities, forced proximity and forbidden kisses abound making for the most delicious drama-filled situations! 10/10 recommend!

This was so boring. Instead of being adorable and endearing, the little sister just felt annoying. Only good part was Beau and Ellie and their relationship; they were cute and I so wished we’d gotten to see more of them together, instead of that rushed ending

“Beau McBride needs a wife. Just… maybe not seven of them.”

Tropes you’ll find inside:
🐻Small town charm
🐻Mistaken identity
🐻Found family
🐻Mail-order bride chaos.

Seven Brides for Beau McBride by Amy Barry is the third book in The McBrides of Montana series, and it’s an absolute treat. Equal parts heartwarming and hilarious, this one leans all the way into its premise….A meddling little sister places a newspaper ad for a bride, and it results in not one but seven women turning up to marry the same man.
Cue the drama. Cue the banter. Cue the absolute chaos.
At the centre of it all is Ellie, a daydreamer with a kind heart, who only answered the ad to stay close to her best friend… and definitely not to fall for the stubborn cowboy with more ego than sense.

I had so much fun reading this. It’s got that comforting, Hallmark-but-better feel to it, with genuinely funny moments, sweet emotional beats, and characters you want to root for. There’s something really nostalgic about the tone, a little old-fashioned in all the best ways, and the love story slowly sneaks up on you.
If you’re in the mood for something light, feel-good, and full of heart, this one fits the bill perfectly. It’s a solid 4 star read for me and a great addition to the series, which continues to deliver with charm and heart.

I recieved this ARC from Simon & Schuster as a gift in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so damn delightful and a hoot! I was seriously cracking up at parts! I couldn’t put this book down at all. It was very addictive. And the narrator incredible!!

Beau got himself into a pickle by making a bet with Junebug because if you’ve read the previous books you know how wily she is 🤣 and it made for a HIGHLY entertaining story! Which made for an already amazing book, but then add in Beau and Ellie’s chemistry and their banter and all the anticipation of them! It was just so so good!

It all flowed so well and then I loved how it all ended up! But that epilogue haha oh boy I can’t wait to see what happens next with this family!

This book was so much fun!! I've honestly loved all the books in the McBrides of Montana series, and this one was no exception. The writing style completely transports me straight to Bucks Creek/Bitterroot and that along with the heartwarming and hilarious plot results in the perfect escapism for me. I really enjoyed that the plot was a bit different for this one, really making this story stand out from the others. I still adore Junebug and all her meddling, and it's nice seeing her grow up as the series progresses. I can't wait to see what antics she gets up to next!

A huge thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC copy.

I’m obsessed with this series. It’s so refreshing having new western historical romance books like this. All characters are rich and interesting. Even the side characters spark without being painfully stereotypical which is unfortunately very common in this genre. This book might have been my favorite so far but it’s hard to pick

This book was such a fun ride! The setup is wild… a sister posts an ad looking for a bride and seven women show up ready to claim the same man. It’s chaotic and ridiculous in the best way and sets the stage for plenty of laughs and sweet moments.

Ellie is the heart of the story she’s gentle, dreamy and loyal to a fault. She’s not looking for love, just tagging along for her bestie… but of course that’s when it sneaks up on her (especially when a certain cowboy is involved).

The whole thing has that cozy, feel good energy. Think comfort read with just the right amount of sass and swoon. It’s light, heartfelt and gives off major “grab a cuppa and get cozy” vibes. I had a great time with it.

Big thanks to Simon & Schuster for the ARC!

it pains me to do this, but this was horrible. how were they not forced to be married after spending the night running away from the bear? how? also, the whole make Diana happy but im gonna behind her back and make up with Beau (multiple times) was such a backstabbing move. also, did junebug get more annoying in a bad in this book or what?

waited all this time for what? for what?
