Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae: Complete Series Collection

Rate this book
This complete collection includes all three books in the trilogy in a single volume!

A feisty outlaw.
A conniving prince.
A war of magic and shadows.

Wanted by the crown for a murder she didn’t commit, Cora dreams of getting revenge on the mage who framed her. In the meantime, she hides in the forest and hones her witch magic. But when she discovers her enemy’s violent hunt for rare and endangered unicorns, she forms a plan for vengeance.

Prince Teryn, heir to a bankrupt throne, will do anything to keep his country from sinking into ruin. When he meets an outlawed witch wanted by a neighboring kingdom, he gets his chance. The woman has an impressive bounty on her head, one that could pay off his kingdom’s debts.

If Teryn can help Cora save a few magical creatures, he can gain her trust, hand her over to her king, and collect the bounty. But Cora has plans of her own, and none of them include being betrayed by her handsome new traveling companion.

The closer Cora and Teryn get to their desires, the harder their tasks become. And it isn’t just their budding attraction that’s the problem. A secret war is coming, one stemming from ancient feuds and forgotten fae magic. They must work together to stop it, or else both their kingdoms will crumble to ash.

PROPHECY OF THE FORGOTTEN FAE is perfect for fans of Throne of Glass, Air Awakens, and Shadow and Bone . If you like fierce witches, a sassy unicorn familiar, and a slow burn enemies-to-allies-to-lovers romance that spans all three books, then you’ll love this epic romantic fantasy tale.

PROPHECY OF THE FORGOTTEN FAE is an upper YA/NA fantasy that contains moderate violence/gore and adult situations. The romance is sloooow burn, leading to open-door mildly steamy scenes in the third book.

Thank you Tessonja Odette for the ARC of this omnibus!

I’ve previously read Tessonja’s romantasy series: Fae Flings and Corset Strings & Entangled with Fae, which I absolutely loved. This series is more of a fantasy with romance as a subplot as opposed to a romantasy, and it’s fantastic! You get plenty of action and banter, along with a sassy unicorn. There are multiple POVs in each book, which works really well for the story. They each felt balanced and appropriate for what was going on in the plot. I enjoyed the world-building and the unique magic system! I appreciate that it was not an overwhelming information dump. The romance is a very slow burn, but it’s worth the wait. The plot unfolded in ways that I didn’t expect, I love when a story surprises me! The epilogue was perfect, it gives a glimpse into the future while also leaving some things up to the reader’s imagination.

I honestly wish I could rate this higher than five stars. I came into this series with an open mind. I do not usually read young adult or new adult fantasy anymore, but this story pulled me in right away. It gave me that same sweeping, immersive feeling I got when I first read Throne of Glass. The world building is rich, the story is layered, and it completely swept me away from the start.
This book includes the full Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae trilogy, and reading it felt like stepping into a beautifully crafted adventure. I was already a fan of Tessonja Odette, so I was excited going in. Once again, her storytelling completely delivered. She blends fantasy, romance, magic, curses, and intense emotional moments in a way that is both engaging and impactful.
One of my favorite parts of this story was experiencing it through the eyes of different characters. Each point of view added another layer to the world and helped me understand their choices on a deeper level. Seeing how each character perceived the same challenges gave the story an emotional honesty that made it even more powerful. By the second book, I was fully connected to each of their journeys.
Cora really captured my heart. She is a character carrying the weight of her past, trying to stay hidden and survive. But fate steps in when she meets a hunter who is not quite what he seems. One moment of compassion, when she tries to save a magical creature, sets everything in motion. From there, she finds herself caught in the threads of a powerful prophecy. As her true identity starts to surface, she is pushed into an uneasy partnership with someone she once saw as a threat. Her path is full of uncertainty, danger, and emotional conflict, but I was cheering for her every step of the way.
Teryn’s journey surprised me in the best way. At first, he is following a mission from the princess he is promised to, searching for a mythical unicorn. But when Cora enters his life, his priorities shift. Watching him struggle between duty and what his heart begins to want made his story feel very human. His growth feels natural, and I appreciated how his choices were driven by both loyalty and the desire to do what is right.
There were also a few side characters who left a lasting impression. Larylis and Mareleau both had major roles in how everything played out. Mareleau especially grew on me, and I loved watching how she changed over time. She became someone I deeply admired. And then there is Vallore. I will not say too much because I think it is better to discover him in the story, but he definitely became one of my favorites.
Cora’s strength is tested over and over again. Just when it seems like she has found her footing, a new threat rises. The stakes keep climbing, and the emotional tension never lets up. The final part of the story really hit me. It is intense, full of conflict and raw emotion, and the ending carries a mix of heartbreak and hope. I found myself wondering if peace was even possible and whether the characters I had grown to love would get the resolution they deserved.

I don’t even know where to start! I absolutely loved the Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae series. Cora is most definitely one of my favorite heroines of all time. The storyline in the series is well thought out and will leave you wanting more. There is so much emotion and action throughout the series, that it keeps you turning the pages late into the night.

I also loved all of the characters in the series. There are at least three that, as the series progresses, cause you to change your opinions about them. I truly believe that this is one of the pieces that makes this series so great because you are witnessing the characters developing, some of which are changing for the greater good.

Overall, this series is one of my favorites and I highly recommend to anyone even considering!

A THRONE OF GLASS
A Throne of Glass was the perfect start to this series. The characters in the book are so well developed that I felt as if I was there, witnessing everything through their eyes. The fact that it’s told from multiple points of view makes it so much better and definitely doesn’t allow it to fall flat.

Cora, the heroine, is one of my favorite female characters. She is so strong, full of passion, and is just an all around bad @ss! Throughout the book, I found myself identifying with her. I really felt like I could put myself in her shoes.

Prince Teryn is a character that put me on an emotional roller coaster. I hated him, then loved him, then disliked him, then loved him, etc. I love the fact that he has an internal conflict and has to decide what to do for the greater good, and his heart.

The slow burn romance keeps you wanting more, as do the additional characters in the book. There are those that are good, and those that are evil, and TO does an amazing job of pushing you to feel the way that she wants you to about certain characters. This book is full of romance, action, and twists and turns, all of which leave you wanting more.

While it was essential to the story, the only piece I didn’t enjoy in the book was the animal cruelty - I can be pretty sensitive on that topic. It definitely fueled my anger and disgust for certain characters, but definitely a PSA for others that might struggle with it too.

Overall, I loved this book and highly recommend the boo@, as the series, to anyone looking to escape into a good fantasy.

A CAGE IF CRYSTAL
A Cage of Crystal was a great follow up to the first book in the series. It continues with a POV from different characters which is essential, especially in this book (you will understand when you read it 😉).

I appreciated that this book gave some more insight to Teryn. While he is a main character in the series, you don’t really get to learn about and understand him until this book, as there is more from his perspective.

There were quite a few unexpected surprises in the storyline, one of which had me so frustrated (in a good book storyline way) and on the edge of my seat! The “slow-burn” romance still exists, along with some confusion, and heartbreak.

As with the first book, I was left wanting more!

A FATE IF FLAME
This book was probably my favorite in the series. I don’t want to include any spoilers, so this is a very difficult review to write.

Between the relationships and the action of the storyline, I found myself needing to read “just one more chapter” fairly frequently. The book started out with Cora’s duty and responsibility, and you felt the frustration and other emotions as she proceeded.

When Teryn returned, I fell in love all over again. The anticipation, love, and respect between Cora and Teryn continues to grow. The fear they both feel in the relationship is so real, and is likely something we have all felt before!

I know I have said it in past reviews, but the characters TO creates, and the way she writes truly allows you to identify with them. Granted, I have zero magical abilities, but I’ve felt the fear and the anticipation of the unknown in love, and in life.

While this is the final book in the series, it most definitely did not disappoint. All the loose ends were tied up appropriately, and even though I want more of the story because I loved it so much, I felt satisfied with the way that it ended.

I absolutely loved Tessonja's "Fae Flings and Corset Strings" and "The Fair Isle Trilogy" series so when she was looking for ARC reviewers for this omnibus I jumped at the chance! I wish I had read all of her books in the order they are meant to be read as the world would have made more sense in those books with a bit of backstory but you can still definitely read it in this order. Tessonja is the queen of writing trilogies in my opinion. I rarely finish a series so it must be addictive! I love learning more and more about the characters and worlds she writes about.

I enjoyed learning more about the world I have loved wholeheartedly previously. The characters and plot keeps you on your toes as you never know what will happen next! I loved the romance between get Cora/Teryn and Mareleau/Laryis as we get to see their bonds develop and grow. I love that the book isn't just all about romance, it has magic, action and a beautiful world you will never forget.

The ending wrapped up the series perfectly even though I was sad for it to be over.

5/5 for the queen that is Tessonja Odette again!

I was sent an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

"Magic was the lifeblood of the Forest People, infusing their way of life. The nomadic commune was once comprised of the last living Faeryn, ancient fae who practiced the Magic of the Soil"

3 books in 1!
Multi pov
European inspired Fantasy
Slow burn romance
Secret identity
Runaway royalty
Prophecy & Quest
Interesting magic systems
Sensory witches
Unicorns, Dragons
Psychological warfare
Elemental fae
Tension, Twists
Can get dark
Moderate on-page steam
Badass women rule the world
Written in 3rd person, past tense

Meet your players:
- Cora, feisty clairsentient witch
- Prince Teryn Alante
- Princess Mareleau Harvallis, jaded & doesn't want to get married
- Prince Lexington Quill, not sturdy
- Larylis, Teryn's illegitimate brother & best friend
- Valorre, a living legend, an icon 🦄
- Duke Morkai, evil scum 👿
- ... The following would be HUGE SPOILERS

So, this trilogy is interesting in that it has action, battles and horrific magic, but it is also psychological. It balances all that with 2 romances, friendships, secrets, sort of enemies to allies to lovers, childhood friends to lovers (with a lot of messes in between), Forgotten Fae lore and magical races and creatures. More than one world is at stake!

I love Lex and unicorn Valorre immensely, they've squeezed plenty of laughter out of me. Valorre's bro-crush on Prince Teryn had me laughing hard 😂

The gross Duke Morkai is viscerally disgusting. He is great at manipulation and twisted six ways to Sunday! Prepare to cringe.

"If you meet darkness, simply bring it to light. Acknowledge it. When you feel those selfish undercurrents running through you, admit them, then let them be. You need not outrun your nature. Just don’t let it control you. When you feel a challenge to counter your base instincts, face it. If you fail, forgive yourself and move on."

I deeply appreciate how Tessonja manages to make her magic system somehow also spiritual. I don't mean it's centered on a specific religious belief, but its philosophy lies in a healthy nurturing of the soul, mind, inner self, whatever you want to call it. The quote up above is a perfect example of this nuanced accepting inner darkness, but remaining a good person.

CW: Adult situations; Explicit language; Open-door mildly steamy romance in book 3; Violence, blood, mild gore

How to sum up trilogy? What starts as a quest to save the unicorns and prevent bankruptcy evolves into thwarting evil magicians, dealings with the dead, lovers divided by politics, and the fulfillment of a not-so-friendly prophecy. The word "epic" is often thrown about in relation to fantasy, and I think in this case it's earned, with an ever-expanding lore and climactic conflicts to resolve in each installment.

This book combines the new and revised edition of the author's debut YA series, and while it retains some of that beginner’s charm, the quirky, fun, magical-political adventure successfully elevates the story for a new adult audience. The style, especially in dialogue, can be very casual and modern. Definitely an easy read, and accessible to non-fantasy readers, although I was distracted by the “makeout sessions” and "thread counts", etc. I’d also recommend for folks who like to be in a character’s head more than less, since the main characters' inner dilemmas fill many (many) pages.

I did feel there's a bit of a pattern with each book. The pace kicks off fun and full of character, meanders in the middle, and rallies for an explosive ending (think 15%-70%-15% split). Whether it's worth pushing through those middle sections to get the good bits is probably up to personal preference. The parts of this series that I loved were all in those beginnings and ends - friends just being friends, romantic resolutions, assertive wartime decisions, unlocking new abilities, and other lovely things.

Having read and loved the author's more recent works, it's neat to see where it all started and how much she's grown since this series. Fans will be pleased to have this edition in their collection.

Per the author’s note, this trilogy is “upper YA fantasy that contains moderate violence/gore and adult situations.” There are a handful of open door scenes, and for the trilogy overall, I’d lean toward an NA rating.

This trilogy is such a fun read. I really enjoy all of Tessonja's fairytale retellings so was excited about this one, which isn't a retelling but a rewrite of her own story. I haven't read the original so I can't compare how much the story has changed but it’s such a bingeable series. It has everything I enjoy about fantasy stories. Multiple POVs and MCs, enemies to friends to perhaps something more, dark and mysterious pasts, prophecies, unicorns that can speak telepathically to special people (come on, who wouldn’t want a unicorn friend they can speak mind to mind to!), witches, badass heroines, forbidden love, plenty of snark and quick wittedness and honestly, it’s just an engaging read. The world building was fantastic, I’m a sucker for well described world building. While there were some stressful and upsetting moments in the series, on the whole it was just a fun easy read that I happily binged anytime I had a spare moment. Also the dustjacket and naked cover on the hardcover version of this book are absolutely stunning! I really am such a sucker for a beautiful book. It's definitely a series I would happily read again and again.

THIS. SERIES!!!!! First of all, I already love Tessonja’s writing. She has a magic at weaving these stories that suck you right in and doesn’t let you go. This omnibus is amazing! So many twists and turns, the tension and yearning, and the suuuuuuper slow burn makes it an absolutely enchanting tale!

Love our FMC Cora! She’s shows a great strength and resilience throughout the series. An Teryn, fell in love with him! (Also want to note that I honestly really loved Lex too and wish there was a bit more of him!) My boy Teryn tho has really had quite the journey through out the series. But I keep falling in love with him, how much he tried to support Cora and help her along the way. He’s got some good Book Boyfriend vibes!!

Alright so I gotta mention Mareleau. Her journey through this series I think is one of the best. How she was at the beginning of Book 1 to what she is like in Book 3, is one of the biggest characters developments I have seen. I really did not like her at all in book one and most of book 2. She was definitely the pampered princess but I did come to admire her willingness to be better and become the woman she was meant to be.

Last but not least I cannot not mention Valorre! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! He’s so sassy and I love his quips! His remarks had me laughing my ass off! 🫶

Loved this series, the ending killed me and I honestly cannot recommend this enough. If you love romantasy, with a slow burn and a sassy animal side kick, then YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!

i need a sec to recover just know i am Bawling My Eyes Out

---

first and foremost thank u DEARLY to tessonja for the arc opportunity, being on your launch team is a dream <33

this was my first time reading this series and i'm so glad i got to experience it in an omnibus edition because i could not put it down. the people who waited between books are truly our bravest soldiers. i didn't want to be away from these characters for even a second.

tessonja's world-building remains unmatched; i adore the fae-flings and corset strings series but seeing her work with somewhat darker material was exhilerating. the pacing was perfection. book two was probably my favourite of the trilogy just because i was so immersed, book three broke my heart and then put all the little pieces back together.

i don't want to spoil anything but READ IT READ IT READ IT

Who doesn’t love a Unicorn familiar that’s witty, beautiful and hilarious!

This was so good to read. The romance, adventures, betrays and found family! There is so much jam packed into this omnibus! I also loved being able to read all book in one and not have to put it down.

Cora is a witch in hiding, she goes through some hard trials within herself and outwardly in the world. She meets Teryn who is a prince and heir to his own kingdom. And they both have hard decisions to make for themselves, kingdoms and friends.

There are so many other great side characters, family and love interests, it just keeps your attention.

It was hard to put down.

Thanks so much to the author for this ARC!!!

I absolutely love some of Tessonja Odette’s other books and was so excited to get this ARC. However, it just wasn’t for me right now

I really struggled with this book as a whole.
I really enjoyed the first part (book) of the omnibus; however, when I got into book 2, it got SO painfully slow. It took me a full month to get 50% into this book. I was forcing myself to pick it up, and ultimately made the decision to DNF.

I will try to finish at a later time after I take a break!!

‘She was a force to be reckoned with, storm wind, and inferno … Beautiful like the edge of a blade.’

Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae is the collection of 3 books in the forgotten fae series. Throne of Glass, A Cage of Crystal and A Fate of Flame They focus on Cora, framed for a murder she didn’t commit, she has spent the last 6 years hiding in the forest honing her magic, never revealing who she truly is. When she finds out the man who framed her is sending men out hunting rare and endangered unicorns, thought to be extinct for hundreds of years, her desire for revenge grows stronger. When Teryn, the prince to the neighbouring kingdom finds her on her quest, he can think of one thing: use the girl, get the bounty, repay the debt his kingdom is in. But as they grow closer, the lines begin to blur. And with a secret war looming on the horizon, one that stems from long forgotten magic, they must work together to save their kingdoms and each other, before it's too late.

I’m going to start by saying how much I enjoy reading anything by Tessonja Odette. Before picking up A Rivalry of Hearts (Book one in the Fae Flings and Corset Strings series - I highly recommend it), I hadn’t read fantasy in a long time, but with her books, I can't stop myself. Her world building is incredible, to the point that you can just picture yourself in the world. This series was no different. I loved every minute of being in the world, and genuinely I’m a little disappointed that I have finished the series. It’s one that I will definitely be re reading again and again.

I’m going to try and separate my thoughts into the separate books:

Throne of Glass-
What an introduction to the world and the characters. Tessonja Odette is so masterful at creating a world that you want to be part of every description, every detail is so well crafted, and makes it something you want to be a part of. I loved the mystery of who Cora is, why she was framed, and learning more about her abilities. I loved the connection between her and Valorre, without a doubt, the two of them together was my favourite bit of the book, and series as a whole.

The storyline throughout this book was captivating and kept me hanging on to every word on the page. The plot twists were so well executed that I would never have guessed them, and the big climax at the end with the battle scene was incredible. I couldn’t get through it fast enough. The pacing was fantastic, and there was never a point where I was like, whats the point of this happening. I liked that it kept me fixed on the story.

The meeting between Cora and Teryn was absolutely everything to me! The tension, the holding him at knifepoint, the wit between them. I was kicking my feet. It really sets the tone for them as characters moving forward. The development just in the first book alone was enough for me to know that it was going to be an incredible series, and I like that they never felt stale going forward. They were always willing to learn more, do more.

A Cage of Crystal -
This was my least favourite of the series. Between the first and third book, this one was a little slower in pace and up until the climax I was struggling to get through it. I thought the concept was good, and I had a feeling that there was more to Morkai that we weren’t fully done with from Throne of Glass, but it felt like it was drawn out a little longer than necessary. It was really good for getting to learn more about the characters, but other than that I wasn’t as hooked onto the second one as I was with the other books in the series.

A Fate of Flame -

This was definitely one of the more interesting of the series, and I can’t quite decide which one between this one and the first one is my favourite. I didn’t love that there was a 7 month time jump, but that’s just personal preference, it definitely made sense for the story to have that time jump. I also love that even though this is the last one in the series, the characters still have room for growth. Just because it was the last book didn’t mean anything was slowing down if anything it felt the opposite. I would have loved to have had Darius be a bigger part of the storyline for longer, but the way his character was introduced was so good and unexpected, I let out an audible gasp. Again the pacing in this installment was incredible, there were a lot of things that needed to be tied up, and they all were without feeling rushed. The action and the things the characters have to go through, I hit just under halfway through the book, and ended up reading one more chapter, until I reached the end of the book, it was really incredibly well written.

The battle scenes throughout the series are incredible, and I like that Tessonja Odette isn’t afraid to go down the gore route, things that happen to the characters make you realise that the stakes are real, which heightens every emotion of the characters, which heightened every emotion I had whilst reading it. Whilst I enjoyed all the battle scenes. The climax at the end of this book in particular was fantastic. Having so many different things going on, the chaos that ensues, it was just written beyond incredibly well.

I felt a little lost after finishing the final book. I feel as though I want to go back into the world, and I will definitely be re-reading this book. series.

The characters, as I've already said, were exceptionally well written. It can sometimes get a bit confusing having multiple POV’s, but each character has such a distinctive voice and writing style, you can always tell who’s POV it is within a sentence or two. The growth of each character makes it such an enjoyable read. The character that surprised me the most however was Mareleau. I like that she is morally grey. Whilst I didn’t agree with so many of her actions and decisions, I like that she did it anyway. I liked that she was manipulative, bratty, selfish, I liked that she used it to her advantage. The whole aspect of Princesses have to be a certain way, and she turns every expectation on its head. Yes she is very morally grey, but in all honesty, when the reveal as to why somes about, I was so happy and it made her into a far more interesting character than she already was.

Nothing and I mean NOTHING can compare to how much I love Cora and Valorre. Their friendship, their companionship is absolutely everything to me! Like I can't explain in words properly how much their friendship means to me I just. The banter between them, the way Cora feels genuinely safe when she’s around him, the fact that they can rely on each other in every single thing thrown at them. The second book, when he is saying she stupid if she thinks he would forget her. I felt so much relief when I saw that he was back at the end, tears came to my eyes. I don’t think I realised just how much I love them as a friendship. I don’t remember the last time I felt as strongly as I do towards them. Just everything about them was so incredible. I need more familiars like that or friendships like that just, I would happily and I mean happily, read another series just Cora and Valorre.

I really like the way Morkai was written. He was genuinely in all aspects a terrible terrible person, The way he committed his crimes, it was so interesting. There was no room for growth like ‘oh maybe he is misunderstood’, or ‘oh he was doing it for the greater good’, there was no space to question his motives, even when we learn more about his backstory there is never a point where I was like oh that makes sense that's why he does this. He was out and out a terrible person, and I like that he was written that way. A lot of the time I feel like authors are trying to focus on making sure there's a good reason for their villain to be the way they are, but in this he is just a selfish horrible person, and I like that, I think we need more of it. Villains need to just be villains sometimes.

If Morkai was good, then Darius was great. He really gave the feel of someone who is a terrifying villain. I never knew what to expect with him, feeling on edge at every scene he was in. The way he was introduced was perfect for his character. The thing about him was, he made some good points, and if you are ever agreeing with a villain, you know they are well written. Different from Morkai, who I was always thinking was a terrible person, with Darius, it was far more sneaky, and the way he could just infiltrate whatever and wherever he wanted, it definitely made for an interesting villain. Again, most of his motives were that he was just a terrible person, but at the same time, there were aspects where I thought he made some sense.

When I read the synopsis of this series, I was like that sounds interesting, sign me up. What I got was three books that were just incredibly well written. I really felt like I was taken to that world, put through the ringer feeling all the feelings the characters feel, and now I’ve been left a little lost once I have finished, and to be honest when it comes to fantasy, that is exactly the way I was hoping I would feel. This series is dazzling.

I would give this series 4 stars very easily. I’m incredibly disappointed that I finished the series and that’s it for their stories, I would happily read more of their hopefully more peaceful lives.

---A THRONE OF SHADOWS
Feisty female in a multi-family fantasy saga
While this is a fantasy, the author brought up some serious topics (intentionally or not – this is what I noticed):
*Communication is key in any relationship
*Don’t throw your alliances under the bus (family, friends, business partners, etc.)
*Cruelty to animals is absolutely, totally, and completely unacceptable [well, cruelty of any kind]
*One person’s delusions can destroy a kingdom (or three) [IRL: untreated narcissism hurts other people]
*If you have to fight over somebody, that somebody’s not worth fighting for. With a character description like below, who needs enemies?
‘A game she could play. For now. This time, she’d be the one moving the pieces.’
‘Had he known her, he would have chosen the Goddess of War. Or better yet, the Goddess of Death.’

---A CAGE OF CRYSTAL
‘Maybe a witch can be a princess’
Being in touch with nature, smelling out toxins, recognizing poisonous plants, utilizing healing herbs, clearing out negative energies, reconnecting with the elements, etc. How could any of that be a bad thing? When we increase awareness of our surroundings, we increase our empathy with other people. Sounds like something we could use IRL.

Mareleau most definitely fits the bill with that famous line from William Congreve’s play, The Mourning Bride (1697):
“Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned.”
As the story moves along, Mareleau’s relationships begin to change, if even only slightly. Her growing softness and declining sarcasm are paced realistically, so her maturation has time to develop.

Believe it or not, a more incredible transformation is Dimi’s. I won’t go into details, but readers will see the royal side of him. How his recovery was portrayed reminded me of people with mental illnesses and/or addictions. Yes, it IS okay for others to be cautious about relapses as long as they can also support the improvements. People need support in order to heal, not punishments.

Some sage advice from the author:
Heed your clairsentient warnings
Never under estimate the magic of a unicorn horn

Will these four be able to maintain their tenuous hold on their thrones?

---A FATE OF FLAME
Breathtaking magic, fierce heroines, and slow burn romance – oh, and DRAGONS!
Had me at ‘Every kingdom has its spies’
A heroine, a queen, a villainess, and a witch all wrapped up into one.
We’ve got some characters who can astral travel/worldwalk; we’ve got some characters who are clairaudient, claircognizant, or clairsentient. There are Charmweavers, Pathweavers, a Truthweaver, and Wardweavers; there are feathered dragons.

I like this little twist on “something borrowed, something blue” for the bride (representing the seven gods):
Red beads for the Goddess of War, blue for Sea, green for Mercy, gold for Justice, black for Death, white for Creation, and pink for Love.

Not a “fave line”, but rather one that called to me:
‘…being surrounded by luxury yet impoverished at heart.’
It hints at some of the character development throughout this trilogy.

This book leaves me wanting to bottle the scent of moonbeams, saddle up my unicorn, and explore Faerwyvae.

I can't recommend this series enough! I absolutely adored this series when I first read it and am so excited to see it as an omnibus. The characters are so fun and Cora is absolutely a heroine you will fall in love with. The storyline of this series was so well planned and executed and definitely leaves you wanting more of the world.

You will fall in love with all the characters, you may not in the beginning but trust the process! Tessonja know's what she's doing!

(u) Throne of Shadows (/u)
I absolutely fell in love with this book and cannot wait for the next in the trilogy! I didn’t reread the original version of this story but I could not put this updated version down!

Fae, unicorns, a magic system hidden from the world, enemies to lovers. It had everything a fantasy girl could want!

This books is written in third person following our four main characters, Cora, Teryn, Larylis and Marleau. But for this book it felt particularly focused on Cora and Teryn.

Cora is on the run, hiding for 6 years from a false claim she finds a home with the forest people and starts to develop her gift, but she’s hiding a secret. When her and her friends are caught by hunters she is thrown into a world where she has to face her past while saving the unicorns from slaughter.

Teryn is forced to defend and fight for an engagement that has been promised for two years, but that doesn’t mean Marleau wants to marry him. But Teryn’s kingdom needs this marriage to happen, to save them from ruin. So Teryn, despite his own desires, embarks on a Hearts Hunt to try and win Marleau.

While I figured out small parts of Cora’s story pretty quickly on in the story this book is far from predictable. The banter is fun, and I enjoyed a magic system where you have to learn and build and work for your abilities to grow.

I honestly cannot wait to see where the second book leads us as these four peoples stories grow. Will Teryn choose Cora or Marleau? I can wait to find out.
(u)A Cage of Crystal(/u)
What an absolute wild ride this book turned out to be. With the end of A Throne of Shadows, it seemed like most things were wrapped up, well A Cage of Crystal proved that things weren't as they appeared. This book leaned into the world building and politics of a patriarchal society. With Cora and Marleau's fates both controlled by men, in particular Marleau's father and brothers. Cora's kingdom hangs in the balance of her grieving and distressed brother being able to prove to King Varian that he can be the King his country needs, while evil is working in the background.

Through the eyes of the four main character's; Cora, Teryn, Larylis and Marleau we get to see the different sides to the politics that rule this world, the unique circumstances their station in society puts them in while fighting for love, self and against the return of Morkai.

I found it truly interesting how Morkai was able to "come back" in his tie to a crystal that was featured within the first book and had ended up in Cora's possession, the history that dives into who Morkai really is (Desmond) and his father Darius who I imagine will be the final big bad in the final installment in the trilogy. I wonder if Morkai had over estimated who the mother would be. Perhaps Cora is actually the child in the prophecy, and the mother had been hers. I am glad we finally got information on the history of the Elvyn and the Faeryn. I am so intrigued by the Elvyn trio we meet briefly and hope they will become a more prominent set of characters in the last book.

I still can't fully stand Marleau, but it does appear she is developing more SLIGHTLY past her selfish personality, I am hoping with their new dire situation of losing all Kingdom leaders (Apart from Larylis obviously) and her becoming a mother she will grow more and mostly release the selfish pettiness that seems to rule her.

I really enjoyed this installment in the Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae trilogy, while it did drag a little for me in the beginning in trying to see where the story was trying to go, it was a great read and really started to pick up quickly and ended up having me on the edge of my seat unable to put it down. I cannot wait to see how this story wraps up and what more we get to learn about the history and future of the human and Fae realms.
(u)A Fate of Flame(/u)
A Fate of Flame is the epic conclusion to the Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae trilogy. Like the other two books in the series this is a multi-pov book following the main characters Cora, Teryn, Larylis and Marleau (With a couple surprise POV's thrown in). Tessonja did an absolute fantastic job wrapping up this trilogy and it was definitely worth the wait.

If you've made it to this book in the trilogy then you know there are quite a few things up in the air, and while I felt the inclusion of our main big bad Darius was a bit short lived, the story has a satisfying conclusion and ties up our team's stories nicely.

This book had a lot of stress filled/ action packed events but Tessonja knows how to pace her story well, you have plenty of breathing room that still had significance to the story and fun moments to ease the high stakes (particularly involving Valorre). We get to the final growing stage for our characters, I appreciate the layers that were introduced, with self acceptance and learning to love yourself. To accept both the light and dark sides of your person and that it's ok to not be ok.

I don't want to dive into the workings of the story because I think it's best to go in blind, with only the knowledge presented to us from the story thus far. But trust me, this is an Epic conclusion that will leave you satisfied, if not a little solemn. I know I'm sad to see these characters go but I'm excited to see what else Tessonja has to offer, maybe a spin off series?

Thank you so much Tessonja Odette for the E-ARC of this omnibus, All opinions are my own.

4.5 ⭐️

If you’re looking for a completed trilogy that has everything you could want in an epic romantic fantasy (well, aside from lots of spice if you’re into that, since it’s upper YA), look no further! It has action, romance, humor, political intrigue, good world building, an interesting magic system, complex villains, charming side characters, animal companions (including a sassy unicorn), betrayals, secret identities, a prophecy, twists/reveals, multiple POVs, and more!

I was first introduced to Tessonja Odette’s writing in her Fae Flings in Corset Strings series (which I absolutely love, btw) and had been wanting to read more of her books! This omnibus is a collection of the 3 books of her Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae trilogy
which are her only books that aren’t set in Faerwyvae (so far…until her new dark romantasy series comes out!). It definitely has a different feel than her Fae Flings and Corset Stings series (since those are cozy and spicy fantasy rom coms and this is a Upper YA/ borderline NA Romantic Fantasy that can be a bit darker at times), but her writing style is just as engaging in this series! I love her characters, her humor, the way she writes about friendship, and I always love how Tessonja writes romance—the playfulness, the tenderness and affection, the chemistry, the love. She has secured herself as one of my favorite/ auto-buy authors and I look forward to reading more of her works!

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and definitely recommend it! I had such a hard time putting this omnibus down! It was SO good! It had me completely sucked into the story.

Their quest to save the unicorns in the first book reminded me a bit of the side quests in the Hogwarts Legacy videogame where you try to free the magical creatures from poachers which was kind of fun! (I know, I know. I apologize for the HP reference). Speaking of unicorns, I absolutely adored Valorre! He was so funny. His little man crush on Teryn and his unconventional swear words had me giggling.

Cora has turned out to be one of my favorite FMCs. She is strong, brave, powerful, resilient, but also kind, compassionate, and caring. She isn’t overly stabby or snarky, self-sacrificing, or overpowered. She deals with her own doubts and bitterness and shortcomings so she felt a bit more realistic than many other fantasy FMCs. She felt like the perfect balance of strength and softness.

I loved the concept of “quiet magic” that’s easily explained by logic or science so dismissed as magic—it makes it easy to believe that magic could really exist but we just look past it which is kind of neat to imagine. I also loved that the magic is tied to them being in tune with themselves and being mindful of their emotions and personal nature, etc. I really loved how, in the third book especially, we got to see each character struggle with their own personal “darkness” (selfishness, resentment, desire for power, etc.) and come to terms with it being a part of who they are…that all people have darkness and light in them. This added a lot of complexity and depth which I really appreciated.

I really enjoyed that this series didn’t feel super predictable. There were plenty of twists and reveals and things often panned out in ways that I had not expected (though, looking back, I can definitely see some foreshadowing). I liked that the third book explored the lure of dwelling on “what ifs” and the futility of doing so.

My only small complaints were that:
(POSSIBLE MINOR SPOILERS!!!)
I wish the main couples spent a bit less time separated throughout the series, I wish we had gotten to see more of the different forms of magic being used, and that it felt like Mareleau got a happier ending when Cora had deserved it more after all her suffering—I wish Cora’s curse had felt more resolved rather than left open.)

Overall, I thought it was really well-done and I enjoyed it a lot! I will definitely be getting a physical copy of this omnibus for my shelves! 😍

Thank you to Tessonja Odette for providing me with an e-ARC of this omnibus in exchange for an honest review!

I can see why so many reviews didn’t finish this as there is a lot of politics going on here and the romance definitely takes a backseat at times. The second book is pretty much all political strategizing between the kingdoms while Morkias (Desmond) runs amok. Using his dark blood magic to control his army of men and wraiths, our heroes are forced to scramble and somehow find a way to stop him while building a small army of their own.

For that reason alone I suggest if that sort of things bores you, then don’t read this because there is a lot of politicking that takes place between the kingdoms here.

I didn’t find it dull at all, even though the mechanics of politics usually bores me to tears. It’s the characters that carried me through. I wanted to know what was going to become of Cora and her brother now that they were bound by the agreement with their neighboring countries.

And when Morkias finally does attack in retribution it’s absolutely horrific… and worth all of the political manipulation up to that point.

At heart this is a rewritten version of an earlier set of books about the land of Lela— an ancient land that once was part of an Elvyn realm that had been cut off their realm when the Elvyn went into hiding. Lela was left in the human realm and eventually carved into various kingdoms and the land’s original name was eventually relegated to just a story.

The story is focused mainly on three of those kingdoms and in the first book we find a group of princes in a contest to win a princess’s hand. Yes, she is officially engaged to one of them already, but that prince’s kingdom has fallen into massive debt and she never liked the fellow anyway. The three that are chosen to go on her final quest (including her fiancé, much to her chagrin) are sent to bring back the horn of a unicorn, the pelt of a unicorn and a unicorn as a pet.

Yes, she is that selfish, though she really doesn’t believe unicorns exist and that she is sending them off on a fruitless effort so she won’t be forced to marry.

But hey, they do exist, though the unicorns have no idea of how they wound up in this realm after being considered “extinct” here for 5 centuries. And there is something dark killing them off. It’s up to two of those princes to help a girl they meet in the forest in rescuing the unicorns and thus spinning our tale from a quest for the hand of a princess into a battle to protect all humankind from a corrupt ruler who wants to rule supreme over the entire continent.

I was drawn in by the characters themselves- Maryleau is a spoiled princess that I just wanted to slap pretty much every time she showed up in the first book (thankfully, not much), and the loving relationship between Teryn and his half brother Larylis really spoke to me. Lex is a breath of fresh air and comedic relief, which we need and he steals pretty much every scene he finds himself in. Cora and Valorre are the heart of the story, and I love their dynamic as she is so down to earth and straightforward while Valorre couldn’t be more vain, but then he is a unicorn and very much aware of how beautiful he is so it’s easy to forgive him for it.

It’s obvious from the moment they meet that Cora and Teryn are the heart of the story, and the dance between them is a slow burn that is fun to follow while the world basically falls apart around them. Of course that’s both from their own choices as well as outside forces, and there is plenty of blame to go around, but the story is enjoyable even if it seems to wander aimlessly from time-to-time.

I give it four stars for the characters and three-and-a-half for plot.

Yes, it is worth the read. There are dark elements in here and the sex is mostly vague and closed door and I believe only happens twice… once for each brother.

Boy oh boy, was this series a fun one! I cannot rave enough about it!
I love me a strong FMC, and we get not one, but two in this one!! And what’s better than when you pair these FMCs with men who appreciate and value their strengths, and do everything they can to support them!
The three books were a roller coaster of events! And at the end of each one, once you think that maybe things will be fine, something new happens, and we’re thrown into chaos all over! But it’s never boring, because it’s never repetitive! Every book was unique in its plot, and the events flowed nicely from one to the other.
I am also a huge fan of the cover and the character art in this omnibus! I usually approach rereleases hesitantly because of that, but Tessonja definitely nailed it!

-- A Throne of Shadows --

This is the perfect series opener! It had the perfect balance of introducing the character, the world, and the magic system, while maintaining a moving and intriguing plot!
I was worried at first that we might have to deal with a juvenile character, but Core proved to be nothing like that! I loved her personality, her determination, and her kindness. Her connection to Valorre was my favourite part of the book, if not the whole series! But I also love Teryn on his own and with Cora. Having the story be from different perspectives showcased the characters nicely!
And even though we don’t see them much, I enjoyed getting glimpses of Larylis and even Mareleau - I’m just not a big fan of her yet!
I was also not expecting the reveal at the end! That was a nice twist!

-- A Cage of Crystal --

If you’re like me and were hoping for things to go smoothly, you will be sorely mistaken! But where’s the fun in a story without conflict?
Also, expecting that the Dimetrius’ appointed counsel will be the worst of our troubles was naive of me because Morkaius is back! I wasn’t expecting that, and definitely not in the way it happened! But I’m glad it allowed Teryn to grow his own strengths and prove to himself that he deserves the responsibility that he’s faced with!
I enjoyed seeing Cora take charge of her position, her insisting on dealing with the library, and her openness to Teryn once he got the chance to talk to her.
I also loved seeing more of Mareleau - I’m becoming a big fan of her, and I foresee her and Cora getting even closer!

-- A Fate of Flame --

This book was a doozy! The unfolding events, the new information revealed to both newly appointed royal pairs, and the decisions they had to make were not easy by any stretch of the imagination!
Cora’s struggle to reconcile the curse that happened to her and her role (or lack thereof) in the prophecy was so profound! Her resenting Mareleau for evading the hurt Cora went through on her behalf, while still not wishing pain on her, was very telling of her nature. And it was nice seeing both queens take charge of their destinies and make the difficult decisions that will serve their families and people best. And I was happy that Larylis was able to get the quiet scholarly life he desired!
But my favourite bit was probably Valorre visiting the world with the rectangular buildings and treeless roads!

This omnibus contains the three books which make up the Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae.

I. A Throne of Shadows
This is our longest book with the most world building. We get introduced to all the characters and a basic overview of thr magical systems and political stance of the world the rest of the books will take place in. Cora is our FMC, a witch living amongst the forest people who are distant relations to the Fae. She has the ability to feel the emotions of those around her. She learns that unicorns, which everyone thought were extinct, are still around and being hunted. She partners up with a unicorn she names Valorre and they begin to track the unicorns and free them. Teryn, a prince is out hunting the unicorns for a quest he really doesn't want to be on to win the hand of a princess he doesn't love, but his half brother does. It's a mess! He meets up with Cora and they decide to work and free the unicorns together. However there is a much darker plot underlying all this. Cora and Teryn find themselves tangled into. Morkai, who everyone thought was the Duke, is in fact an evil undying fae that is hellbent on the death of Cora and taking over all the kingdoms. This leads to a literal war with great casualties.

II A Cage of Crystal
Picks up immediately after book one. Cora has been revealed as the long lost princess and has been restored to the castle and leadership. She is trying to clean up the mess that was left at the end of book one. She's learning how to balance her magic with being a royal and ruling. Now that Morkai is gone, she is trying to restore balance by purging all his things. One of which is his crystal that isn't what it seems. Teryn falls victim to the spell surrounding it and Morkai possesses his body. He has to fight him off to free himself and ends up with white hair and trauma.
III A Fate of Flame
7 months have passed since the end of the last book. Teryn is back to full health and Cora is set to marry him. The slow burn finally ends in this one! It's at this point in the story, the prophecy that basically everyone is living around turns out to be misunderstood. Everything that Cora went through was wrongly done to her as she wasn't even who she thought she was in all of it. This made me insanely mad for her. Like insanely mad. She's got much better control over her emotions than I do because I would not have been as outwardly kind. This book ends with basically the final battle as the prophecy comes to pass and Morkais father reveals himself and his plans. It was insane how much went down in the latter half of this book.

Overall I really enjoyed this series. There were some parts that seemed to drag a little and I found it was mostly in book two. I highly recommend this omnibus for fans of sweeping fantasy with little spice. The focus of these books is not the romance. Thank you to the author for sharing this ARC with me.

“She was a force to be reckoned with, a storm wind, an inferno. She was a wind-tossed sea and a snow-capped mountain. Beautiful like the edge of a blade.”

I will start by saying that I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to Tessonja for sending a copy my way! This is the omnibus edition of her Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae trilogy as this is a series review, I will keep it spoiler free.

It’s no secret that I adore Tessonja Odette’s Fae Flings and Corset Strings series. When I saw this omnibus edition, I had to pick it up. The Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae series offers a unique tone from her other works; however, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had lush world-building, political intrigue, witches, prophecies, a brewing war & unicorns. Honestly, what more could you want?

This narrative is told from multiple perspectives. The four main perspectives are from our main characters—Cora, Teryn, Mareleau & Larylis.

My heart aches for Cora. The amount of trauma and danger she's subjected to because of the prophecy is insane. She struggles throughout to find a balance between her witch side & her past. Cora is a clairsentient witch & has strong empathy magic. She begins the series as a fugitive, dwelling amongst nomadic witches. Life takes an unexpected turn when she saves a unicorn from a hunter. The unicorn Cora rescues, Valorre, is one of my favourite animal companions I have ever read about.

Never fear, my romance lovers, Tessonja knows how to weave an excellent romance in her high-stakes fantasy plot. In this series, we have not 1 but 2 romances. One romance is this wonderful enemies-to-lovers with a delightful marriage of convenience thrown in. And the second is a second chance romance with a friend-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers’ vibe. This is a young adult series, so there are minimal steamy scenes with only a handful of scenes across the last two books. These scenes aren’t overly explicit.

If you love YA fantasy series like the Throne of Glass series or The Grishaverse, I highly recommend you read this. As a bonus, the entire series is out, so you can binge-read to your heart's content.

Having all three books together in an omnibus was awesome! I was able to power through all three easily. I loved the multiple POVs in this book, the interesting magic-system, parallel worlds, enemies-to-friends, and familiars. I also really enjoyed that the female MCs weren’t ever helpless or damsels in distress but still had personal obstacles to overcome. There were so many twists and turns, new revelations in each book, and the author really showed how things aren’t always black and white, whether in magic, perceived character flaws, or choices in life. I truly loved this series!

Here are my three (original reviews) of the series - clearly I just wanted to get back into reading!

Book 1

Loved the first book in this series! Took a chapter or two to get into it but so much action, deception, and magic!

Book 2

Wow. In the first bit of the book (and end of last book) I had sooo many questions, I was really worried I’d never get answers. But thankfully, I was wrong!

The dark Arts are still wreaking havoc in ways i couldn’t even predict. We get to meet new characters, face some major challenges, and feel some major heartbreak. I cannot wait for book three

Book 3

What an epic end to an epic tale!! I wasn’t sure how I would like the multi-POV for a whole series, but it worked super well here. In other books, I’d often find myself wanting information I couldn’t have based on the character’s POV that was telling the story, but here, the other switched often enough to get us the info we need with an appropriate intentionality that made for a smooth read. The last book in the series was action pack, each page bringing more excitement than the last. Quite a few times, I didn’t know how the MCs were going to get themselves out of a bind and they always did!

I also loved the epilogue - it gave just enough insight into the future to know how the characters were faring without being too extensive

Having only read Tessonja’s cozy romantasy series, Fae Flings and Corset Strings, I wasn’t sure what I was in store for with this series, but I loved it. Definitely recommend this as a solid romantasy/fantasy romance with an FMC who makes things happen but can still rely on her friends.

Throne of Shadows:
I flew through the story, it was so easy to connect with the characters and such a palatable world building for a fantasy. This truly showed me that I love the way Tessonja writes and will read anything she puts out. In this story, the meeting between our two MCs was perfect. I loved the contention between the two characters and the growing relationship. I really enjoyed that these characters were skilled, but still flawed, and had empathy for each other. I’m all for stabby FMCs, but this was a nice balance of self-sufficient and friendliness. The overall plot was reminiscent of my childhood days reading horse and unicorn books, before I knew what fantasy and romantasy genres were. I really enjoyed the plotline of unicorns and the character of Valorre. 100% my favorite character. I didn’t feel like the plot moved too much, and that this book was setting us into the world and characters. Even so, it felt like it moved and I was engaged the whole way.

A Cage of Crystal:
This felt like edging waiting for the characters to interact or get through the challenges. It felt a bit stretched on the circumstances, and I'm all about pining, but was ready to lock these characters in a room together to hash it out by mid-book. I loved the reveals and worldbuilding, and best was the new relationships. Mareleaus and Cora's friendship and Valorre was my favorite part of this book. I did get a little bored trying to push through, but it was definitely worth it.

Will update when I finish the last in the series!

This book (or actually series) was intense in the best possible way! I am always careful what to write down for a review, because I don't want to spoil anything for a new reader.

I got a chance to sign up for the Arc of this book, since I read a couple of her rewritten fairytale books this was a no brainer for me! Did I do some research for what I was about to read? Nope... nope I didn't.
When I was in the middle of the first part of the book, I felt like this was similar to Throne of Glass. Reading blurbs later, this is exactly to what it is referenced to 😂. Perfect reference in my opinion!

This book has small burn romance, has magic (lots of it!), mythical creatures (I love unicorns 🥹) and policital play. Some plots were expected, or could have been guessed if you noticed every little hint that was given (which I didn't, a lot took me by surprise 🤣). I am the dumb reader who thinks 'huh, that went way too easy...' and am surprised when there's another huge plot twist involved 😂.
There weren't any explicit scenes described in the book (I am always all in 😂 but it's fine that in this series this isn't the case).

The book didn't have the Disney ending that I was rooting for, but in this case, this ending feels like it makes you grow as a reader too. It was a more fitting and real end then most books.

All in all, I loved this series. It made me feel and scream, made me put it down because I was angry with how it was going 😂 (and made me pick it up shortly after). Sometimes there was so many bad things happening, which halted my pace in reading a bit (which is nothing bad about the book, just says something about me as a person).

I would definitely recommend this book to all fantasy lovers!
Thank you Tessonja for letting me read this as an Arc ❤️❤️

This was a beautiful read from start to finish. I've never seen myself as a unicorn girly, but I am now after reading this. I need my own Valorre right now!

I was sucked into this world from the very first page, and each book had me on the edge of my seat as I followed Cora and Teryn on their journey. The plot was well paced and spread out between each book. Each book had a new twist and a new hurdle that Cora, Teryn, and the rest of the crew had to overcome and I could not wait to pick this book back up again to find out what they were going to do next.

The slow burn was perfect. It was the perfect amount to keep you wanting more, but it didn't take away from the plot. It was like a little treat in between all the chaos. I loved the relationships between all of the characters and how each relationship grew and strengthened due to different events that happened throughout the books.
Cora is so strong and resilient. I don't know if I would have the strength to pick myself up again after everything she went through. Teryn was just the perfect prince, and I loved how supportive he was of Cora throughout the series. Their relationship was just incredible to read, and I absolutely adore them. Mareleau took some getting used to, but her character arc was definitely my favourite to read. My favourite character of all time has got to be Valorre! Sorry, Cora...
Valorre was so funny and sassy, and the confidence this Unicorn had was unmatched. Everyone needs a travel companion like that.

This series is filled with unicorns, witches, fae, royals, political intrigue, dangerous magic, prophecies, slow burn, and so much more. This series has made me fall in love with Tessonja's writing even more.

I will post individual reviews for each book soon.

What an amazing series! The Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae Trilogy has everything a epic romantasy needs: loveable main characters, an interesting lore, mystic creatures, an incredible world building and of course a true villain. Cora, the FMC is a true badass, with a mysterious past. I have figured out her secret quit quickly so the revelation wasn’t a surprise for me. Still I loved her character development throughout the story and how she slowly learned to grow and accept her magic. The chemistry between her and Teryn is absolutely adorable and I also enjoyed the character development of Mareleau and Larylis! The trilogy is mostly from Cora‘s and Teryn’s point of view but as the trilogy progresses it includes some chapters from different viewpoints.

The romance is very slow burn and there is a lot of plot and world building in the series but I really liked the high stakes and pace of the writing and the story was interesting enough that it was hard to put the book down because I needed to „just read another chapter“. Just the fact that I finished reading the whole trilogy in a single week while working full time with quite long hours basically says everything. I basically inhaled the story because I was so hooked to the storyline.

I have read multiple books from this author and so far I enjoyed every single one of them! I truly love Tessonja Odettes writing style and the magical worlds she creates. I received an ARC copy of this Omnibus version in exchange for an honest review and want to thank the author for this amazing opportunity! I loved everything about this series and can’t recommend it enough!

Thank you to the author for a digital copy to review. All thoughts are my own.

I've only read Tessonja's newer adult romantasy series, Fae Flings and Corset Strings, so I came into this omnibus knowing it would be different from what I'm used to from this author (it was being marketed as, "if you love Throne of Glass, then you'll like this", and I did enjoy Throne of Glass a great deal), and I think I am not the correct reader to enjoy this series.

For me, I found this overall to be so painstakingly slow. I never grew enough interest in any of the core characters beyond enough to keep flipping the pages, but the storyline never fully grabbed me. Core identities being revealed in book one fell flat, and by the end of it, I wasn't invested enough to continue the series. I did try, given I wanted to see if I would finally grow to enjoy this world, but by the first third of the second book, I had to admit it was just too slow in its pacing and development. I ended up skimming the rest, and whilst there were some satisfying conclusions for many of the core characters, I'd rather be honest and admit that I'm more suited to Tessonja's other series which is more adult.

I can respect the craftsmanship that has gone into the world-building of Prophecy of the Forgotten Fae, and it is one of the main elements that kept me turning pages because the world felt fleshed out enough to me. If only I found myself more intrigued by the characters, I'm certain I could have enjoyed this more. I think this series would definitely suit lovers of political intrigue and courtly dynamics, and if you enjoy much slower-paced storylines.

This is the omnibus of the prophecy of the forgotten fae trilogy. I was so excited to read this book since I love other books by this author! This is a YA fantasy/romance series with world building, war, curses, and more.

I really enjoyed the multiple point of views based on the characters in the series. I liked reading how they all perceived issues differently throughout the books and the choices made because of it. I will say, Cora and Teryn are by far my favorites, to me they have the best story lines and character development. Those two make me swoon for one another and I will forever and always cherish their story. I’ll probably also throw in Mareleau in the mix since my distain from her in the beginning turned into a bit of enjoyment while reading her plot development. She probably had one of the biggest character developments of everyone throughout the book.

This book was filled with battles, secret prophecy’s, magic, fae, forbidden romance, royal scandal, secret identities and more. The first book and third book I found the most enjoyable; they kept me on the edge of my seat while reading. The second one in my opinion was much slower paced. I could have done without part of the plot in book two but understood it had to lead up to a major event for book three to occur. Book three wrapped everything up nicely and I was sad to see it end. Although there was a moment I thought while reading the epilogue that we’d end up with a different story based on hints of a curse in book three, I was sad that wasn’t the case. In my heart, they got their perfect storyline ending.

Overall a fantastic read! Definitely recommend it if you love the tropes listed!

Huge Thanks to Tessonja Odette for an EArc of the complete trilogy.
This is fantasy romance done right. It has action, adventure, actual pilot, character development and a real, honest slow burn romance that spans all three books. The characters actually have chemistry and their banter and rationale for their actions makes sense.
In a genre scattered by more spice than sense, this is truly a standout series and I cannot praise the author enough for the way she has written these books.

This is the basic premise below:

Cora was framed for the murder of her Queen and was forced to flee into the woods where she has resided for the past 6 years, learning the art of magic by Forest People. Hiding out from pursuers who want her brought to justice, she does her best to avoid meeting new people.
Until one night her friends come across a group of hunters who have several unicorns in their grasp.
Aware that these hunters work for the man who framed her, Cora heads out after them to save the unicorns.
Prince Teryn’s Kingdom is broke and the only way he can ensure its coffers are filled is by marriage to a neighbouring Princess. But she is keeping her option open and insists her suitors bring her three unicorns.
But once Teryn realises what must be done to assuage his Princess he is less than impressed and joins Cora is her quest to save the unicorns. Until he realises who she is and what she is worth.

With Prince and Princesses galore, hunters, magic, unicorns and warlocks this runs the full gamut of everything you would ever want in a fantasy story.

I will start by saying I LOVED this book! It was a fun magical read 🦄🐲🧝🏼‍♀️

BOOK ONE:
YA fantasy with fae, witches and UNICORNS 🦄 I mean this book is definitely worth reading purely for the sassy unicorn 🫶🏼

Firstly I really enjoyed this book, it gave us everything a YA fantasy needs. There was a witches coven that specialises in a multitude of different magical abilities, fae heritage, a hot villain that we love to hate (specialises in blood magic [kinda hot]), mythical creatures, with a sprinkle of romance 🫶🏼

I am excited to see where the rest of this series is heading 💕

Side note: If I could give characters 5🌟s it would be Lex, I LOVE HIM 🥰

BOOK TWO:
I would definitely say the second half of this book was excellent, that’s not saying the first half was by any means bad. I LOVED the pacing of the second half of this book, there were different fae realms, DRAGONS, Elvyn, prophecy’s and a backstory to Morkai. Which was definitely one of the highlights of this book! I found it really clever how everything started to come together, things started to click into place 🧩

I would definitely say this was a solid 4.25 🌟 for me!

The only thing that was missing… was Lex 🫶🏼

Onto the next one ✌🏼

BOOK THREE:
Review to come.

I would like to thank Tessonja Odette and her team for sending me an ARC of this book 📖

A whirlwind adventure that spans several worlds where magic, Elvin, and sassy unicorns dwell.

Cora, our heroine, is hiding from her past life when fate has her crossing with a hunter who is not all what he seems. In defending a magical creature from a deadly fate catapults her to discover a sinister prophecy that looms over the kingdom. When her true identity is reviled, she is forced to ally with her enemy and their quest begins to save their world from an impending doom.

Teryn is betrothed to a princess who sends him on an impossible hunt for magical unicorns to win her hand; but fate puts him on a path with the fiery Cora and his life is forever changed. Determined to help her in her quest to bring peace to their kingdom, he finds himself battling his heart along the way.

So many great characters, Larylis and Mareleau, played such a big role! I especially loved seeing Mare's character growth throughout the series. I absolutely adore Vallore, I won't say no more on him, you have to experience him!

If you are looking for magic, betrayal, heartbreak, dark magic, found family, slow burn, sassy unicorns, action and adventure, go read this fantastic series!

Firstly thank you to the author for the ARC! I’ve loved her work in the Fae Flings series and was excited to try something new from her.

This is an omnibus of 3 books in one! I’ll give my individual ratings below.

Book 1: 4 stars
Book 2: 3.5 stars (sadly this one felt like it suffered middle book syndrome for me and took me forever to complete)
Book 3: 4 stars ⭐️

This was such a fun, interesting, and layered world! It had complex characters in their upper teens or early 20s navigating a fantastical world of magic, fae, curses, creatures, love and friendship, and so much more. I really enjoyed the magic system for fae and non fae characters. I liked that each time Cora’s magic grew it was in the face of a challenge. The way the story played out was well done and at times unexpected! At times, because I was reading all 3 books back to back, the writing could feel redundant.

Since this is 3 books in one it did take me over a month to complete. When I first opened my kindle it had over 24 hours of reading for me to do! Overall, I enjoyed the ride and will continue to read more from this author!
