This is the second book in the Kinktober '25 series that ends surprisingly early, at 68%.

Just add a note in the beginning that the story ends well before 100% if you're going to stuff your book.

It has so many metaphors the story is lost. Sometimes I couldn't say if a sentence was a metaphor or an actual description of some supernatural element of the story. I was confused half the time, and these two are just awful people being violent for no reason.

ARC Review – honest opinion

This was such a wild, dark ride. I really enjoyed how Smoke was set up as this ruthless predator, only to have the tables turned when Kae enters the scene. Their dynamic is electric—equal parts dangerous and intoxicating—and I loved watching the power shift back and forth between them. The author does a fantastic job blending violence, sensuality, and tension into something that feels both brutal and addictive.

The pacing is fast and relentless, which mostly works in its favor, though I occasionally wished for a little more breathing room to explore the characters beneath all the sharp edges. Even so, the chemistry crackles, the writing is vivid, and the atmosphere is dripping with danger and desire.

Overall, it’s a darkly seductive read that delivers on tension, heat, and fae-lore with a twist. Perfect if you like your fantasy laced with bite.

Haze of Sin is a very quick, spicy read that introduces you to Kae and Smoke, two Fae who are seemingly mortal enemies. Mortal enemies who, in their mind, have an unfortunate desire for more than just disposing of the other.

I was a little confused about the background of the characters and what was going on in their world, but I'm guessing that gets explored more in the main series since this is more of a prequel/introduction to the series.

I enjoyed the banter between Kae and Smoke and loved how they interacted with each other! They had a lot of chemistry, whether they were trying to eat each other in the fun or the not so fun way 😂

Haze of Sin reads very quick, but it's absolute unhinged chaos!

Sloane does it again! I had the pleasure of ARC reading this and let me just say, if you want a quick, spicy, dark story where killers go at it in all the ways they should then you won’t be disappointed!

Smoke has a way of getting what they want, and you'll realize a little too late that its best to just not always indulge in what you want..at least thats what Kae learned the hard way with!! This short book is jam-packed with angst and I couldn't put it down!!!
