I started going through this book on my most recent trip to Shanghai. It is slightly outdated as things have been growing at an astounding rate in Shanghai and tallest buildings are quickly replaced with even taller buildings. We also noticed a few mistakes on the map in terms of road names, specifically one of the road's our apartment complex is located on: Pu Ming Lu - it is listed on the map as Pu Min Lu. This could cause some issues as this is a fairly major road in the Pudong district. Additionally, the map did not cover much of the Pudong area, again, probably because it is an area that has expanded very quickly.
It does a good job of hitting all of the tourist points and will be a great guide for people visiting the city. I'm looking forward to checking out some of the restaurants it recommends.
Bought it on my birthday when I spontaneously decided to take a trip to Singapore. It was my first trip ever out of the country and my first airplane ride. I took it everywhere with me. We've had good times, this book and I. Hopefully on my next visit I'm less of a dumb tourist and more of an explorer.
