"I am completely and utterly in like with you."

Antonio “Scarface” Marino was once at the top of his game and he wants it back, only with his reputation of tits, ass and booze no one wanted to give him a shot, that is until Francesca Silva took a chance on him. She knows he has what it takes, risking the financial well being of the Academy on Tony.

Francesca Silva , the Brazilian bombshell, is as tough as any of the fighters, just because she chooses to wear suits instead of gloves doesn't mean she can't go toe-to-toe with the scary Cuban. He's been hitting on her since day one, but she doesn't play that way in fact she forgot what it was like to play at all. She long left her Frances and Frankie persona behind; preferring to be seen as the untouchable ice queen than a gym-rat-tom-boy.

Could there be more to the fighter everyone fears and more to the female who keeps everyone at arms length ???
"This was a mistake. I've already told you, I don't want a relationship. I was able to handle one night, but that kiss didn't say 'one night' to me. It didn't say 'fun'. It screamed 'complicated' and 'messy.'

They both have issues...
"if you could control that temper, any woman would be lucky to have you."

"I have one woman in mind, but she has all sorts of issues. If she could work on her issues, let go a little, have a little fun, any man would be honored to have her."

Tony is in the fight of his life, unwilling to loose especially to Francesca's ex-husband while Francesca is in the fight of hers, mind and heart battle it out... both outcomes unpredictable. Do they have what it takes to win a chance at a better future...
"You're totally falling for me, Francesca Silva, and i can't wait to see your reaction when you figure it out."

Below The Belt is a story about two people getting a second shot at life and love. Passion, tempers and pride run high in this steamy read, while adding some Spanish hysterics along the way. In the beginning I have to admit it was kind of hard to like them with the stand offish cold exterior I was kind of put off, but as they got to know each other and we got to know them more they definitely grew on me. Knowing that they are so much more than what they want people to see. This story is told from both leads POV and it was great getting inside their heads allowing me to get to know them more. It was sad to see such a strong woman be torn down by insecurities, making her change who she is even though she was kick ass in the first place. While Francesca thought that Tony would be the one needing to learn his lesson and train, she had a few things to learn as well, and Tony was the man to teach her. I enjoyed this read, it had be laughing and feeling throughout the book and I can't wait to see whose book is next because I have a choice couple I'd like to see hit the pages next.

As soon as I finished Full Contact I didn't think I'd be able to WAIT for this one. Francesca intrigued me in the last novel and as soon as I found out she had her story I was ECSTATIC. She's such a bada*s .. I admire her. She's a BOMBSHELL. No wonder Antonio is after her .. Antonio may be book boyfriend material HOWEVER Francesca equals #GIRLCRUSH. She has a tough exterior and it takes someone special to break it down. It wasn't my favourite out of the series because I felt something was lacking although it got the four stars because of the phenomenal characters. In addition, I LOVED THE SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE .. learning words in languages is always a plus and it just sounds so much HOTTER! It was a fast read and I adore this group of friends .. NOW I just have to patiently wait for Cain's story (HOPING IT'S THE NEXT ONE).

You know that feeling when you first start a book that is just isn't for you? It nags at you in the back of your head, but you force yourself to trudge on? But because you're forcing yourself to read it absolutely every little thing begins to bother you? Even things that you normally wouldn't be bothered by? Yeah.

I think my biggest issue was that I just couldn't connect to the writing style right away. Third person POV is a hit or miss for me and sadly here it was a miss. I couldn't help feeling that I was being told the story as opposed to showed and found bits and pieces of it choppy. Then the fact that the MMA academy that the hero trained in was called Worth The Fight but was constantly referred to in the abbreviated version had me giggling incessantly like a teenager every single time. Yes. I'm mature like that.

Clearly, I'm in the vast minority with my feelings and I obviously didn't get very far in this book so don't let my feelings about it deter you from reading. Sometimes a book just isn't for you, for no other truly big reason. That was the case for me here. I'm immensely picky with my MMA books so this was definitely a case of it's me, not the book.

It's LIVE !!

I've been thinking a lot about this book lately. One of the reasons why I love books so much is that each book gives us something. They make us dream, travel, learn.
I should thank the author for my new obsession for Latina men culture. I've been researching a lot about it these days and I absolutely need to fly to Cuba soon.

Antonio Scarface Marino was once one of the best MMA fighters, but lately he has been dedicated only to sex, booze and parties.
Francesca is a brazilian bombshell, co-owner of Worth the Fight Academy, who has decided to take a chance on Tony and sign him as a fighter at the academy.
Tony has asked her out from the first day, but Frances keeps rejecting him.

I love love love Tony. He is cocky, pushy, sexy, sweet, confident. He's a fighter, he's Cuban and he has a scar on his eye!!

description

I loved when he got angry and started ranting in Spanish. lol

He was just so perfect with Frances and he made my heart melt. I loved the banter between them.

Francesca was a big surprise for me. I really like her character, she is tough, kickass, beautiful and both strong and fragile.
She may hide behind her suits and seem like she needs nobody to be there of her, but she's just pretending.

I loved that she was able to fight! Such a tough woman who could put a man on his knees. And that she cursed a lot, because yeah, even women curse!

This is book three in Worth the Fight series, but can be read as a standalone.
The author was so kind to send me book one and I can't wait to read it! I'm really looking forward to read about the two other couples in this book.
I need Cain's story now!

Songs that make me think about this book:
-Déjate Amar- Yandel
-El Taxi-Osmani Garcia, Pitbull, Sensato
-Stay with me- Sam Smith
-Kiss me- Ed Sheeran

My thoughts when I finished reading this book:

Loved this one! Aww, Antonio Marino, I'm utterly in love with you..

3.75 Can I Kiss You Stars!

*arc provided via Net Galley*

It seems as if I keep picking up books in series having not read the previous ones! Again, that is ok as this is a standalone in a MMA fueled romance.

Below the Belt is the story of Antonio "Scarface" Marino and his feisty new trainer/manager Fancesca Silva. While he is known for his out of ring antics of booze, women, a bad tempered behavior. She is all business, all the time, with a sexy yet stone cold demeanor.

 photo 2c4fd999-22ed-4c5f-bf13-b1e106d21517_zps4b9ff796.jpg

Francesca has taken a major risk on Antonio in hopes to bring good fortune to her father's WtF gym. If she can get him under control they there a chance for some good winnings...too bad his only concern is getting her under him...perhaps any place, any time

Fairly predictable where this headed right? Not quite! There so much more to what you see with Antonio. I found this big hot latin lover to be completely open, honest and swoon-worthy. But I also struggled with the character of Francesca as this tough sexy business woman is the epitome of looks can be deceiving. She has loved and she has lost. She has been alone and guarded for 8 long years. She is really just a lonely laid back girl who would rather grapple with the boys than pull her bun up all tight and don her garters!

When a hot male alpha starts showering her with constant flattery, attention and libido rising touches, it was painful to watch her retreat. Yes, he got her hot and bothered. Yes he was a possessive freak at times. Yes, he was pushy and arrogant. But guess what? This man was on a mission to have her and he was "all in."

 photo 44717f83-88bf-415d-97b7-d3a88951aba2_zps9cb7c2b1.jpg

Antonio was sweet when not expected. Tender when needed. And all out sexy as sin when let loose. Francesca and her unloving heart did not stand a chance, therefore, I wish the push-pull would have given much earlier

That being said, the book was still very enjoyable. I honestly found Antonio to be quite refreshing as an MMA type character. His vulnerability and "wear your emotions on your sleeve" demeanor was endearing. I knew Francesca would be no match for him...or maybe it was really just the other way around as it seems she had him tapping out at first look!!!

A sexy and attractive story with two captivating characters that made me laugh, smile and feel tingly all over.

For the past few months Tony Marino hasn’t just been after career wins. He’s been after the sassy, sultry and tough as nails Francesca Silva, co-owner of Worth the Fight Academy were he’s been training to get his career back on track and fighting what seems to be a losing battle at trying to get Francesca to give him the time of day.

At a friend’s wedding though, she gives into a one-night stand with Tony, unknowing that his pursuit of her has made him want a whole lot more than that. Can Tony’s virile and vibrant approach thaw out Francesca’s fortress of ice?

Right of the bat we meet Tony after losing a fight. And let me tell you, I was not impressed. His lack of control and temper made him look more like a jackass instead of a badass. Which made me wonder if I could like him and enjoy the story. I was happily surprised that I could and I did.

After getting to know him a bit more, we see a softer, kinder side to him which was completely endearing. His temper still made an appearance or two but knowing there was so much more to him made it almost funny imagining him with a Ricky Ricardo accent while getting angry, and even when he was not.
“Okay, so esplain this ‘I Never’ game.” Tony said.
“Dude, it’s explain, not esplain,”
~~
“Stop being all… Sexual. Stop it.”
“I’m not being sesual,”
Today replied.
“Dude, you keep forgetting those x’s. Sesual? No wonder she doesn’t want to kiss you.”

I did get a bit annoyed with Francesca though. Her commitment issues and insecurities made her feelings go all over the place, making her overreact and not be the strong person she portrayed at the beginning. But just like with Tony, after getting to know her better I understood her and where the reluctance to let people in came from. And basically how hard it was for her to find her true self.
“Your clothes aren’t the problem. You need to be yourself, not some persona you’ve created who’s a standoffish version of the beautiful woman I’ve come to care about.”

I loved how Tony was so patient with her. How even though she conveyed being this take charge, confident, independent woman, he still felt the need to protect her because he saw her vulnerable parts.
“You say you don’t want me, but you don’t pull away either. You’re fighting it, and I can’t understand why. I’m not a boy, cariño. I know what I want, and I want you. I’m going to keep trying...”

I enjoyed how he tried to coax Francesca’s true personality out, or more accurately how he slowly broke down her barriers and got to the heart of her.
“She was slowly cracking; he felt it, and it made him feel invincible. The strongest woman he knew, was finally letting him in – at least a little.”

Even though at times it broke my heart along with his.
“ ‘Tony, I love you and I got jealous.’ Just fucking say it! Don’t you get it? You’re fucking hurting me! Every time you don’t tell me how you feel, you’re breaking my damn heart!”

I loved Tony’s mother she was so overbearingly adorable and funny, and all the rest of the supporting characters made this book so much richer.

Even though most of the story felt like Tony was fighting to get Francesca to take a chance on them, there were also a lot of sexy moments and some exciting ones related with the fights and training.
“Outside this bedroom, you can fight me all you want. But in this bed, you’re fucking mine, and I please my woman.”

I stumbled upon this book almost by accident and I feel lucky I did. I will be looking for the previous books in the series and also waiting for the next one which seems to be about two very interesting characters who I also met in this story.

Written in third person from both points of view. Third book in the Worth the Fight series, can be read as a standalone. No cheating. No triangle. No cliffhanger. With a HEA. Fighter romance.

I need you and me to be an us

This is now my favorite book in this series! I loved Francesca and how she had so many different sides to her, and Tony who you wanted to hate at first but then couldn't help but love. I mean, the dudes got kittens!

Tony and Francesca both hide their true self from the world. Tony wants everyone to think that he's a badass fighter that only cares about getting girls and booze, but he has his insecurities. Francesca hides behind power suits and doesn't let people see how truly badass she is, wanting others to view her as an untouchable boss running the gym rather than a tomboy insecure around men.
When her walls were down and she seemed almost carefree, when she though no one was noticing - those were the moments he loved most

Tony makes Francesca open up and when she does he makes her feel sexy and wanted and like she doesn't have to hide. He wants her more than he has ever wanted any woman and is willing to change for her. Francesca see's behind the walls that Tony has put up, she knows he's scared of not being the best fighter anymore and she helps him overcome those fears and be the best fighter that he can be.

I loved their relationship and Tony is my favorite character so far. He made me swoon, laugh, get angry. Just so many emotions! And oh the sexy times, just wow! Sidney Halston knows how to create the best characters and write the best stories. I can't wait to read more in this series, the writing will suck you in and not let you go until you have read every word. I loved how we still see the other characters from the previous books a lot and I will definitely be doing a re read of their books soon.

I’m going to admit right up front that I was worried if I’d like this book because of the two main characters. In the previous books; the hero came off as a smart ass party animal lunatic and I was pretty ambivalent about the heroine but because it was part of a series and because I had enjoyed the two books before it and the characters in those book, I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did because surprisingly, Below the Belt is my favorite book in Sidney Halston’s Worth the Fight Series to date.

I really thought I was going to hate Antonio “Scarface” Marino but damn did this author prove me wrong. Yes, he’s behaved irresponsibly with his partying, drinking, fighting, and whoring ways in the last few years and yes it has affected his career as a MMA fighter but in this book we begin to see that underneath all of that is really this fantastic man who loves his mother, sisters, and nieces to now end, a man who respects strong women and even celebrates them, and a man who really just wants to be loved for the person he is. I seriously fell in love with this large and in charge man something I would have laid bets on that would never happen. I’m not saying he’s without faults because he has many including a horrendous temper, supreme jealousy, and often refusing to accept responsibility but there’s also a really tender side to him and he is one of those men that when they fall they fall deeply and with their whole self; mind, body, heart, and soul.

Francesca Silva was a piece of work but as her background came to light I began to understand her a whole lot more. Raised by her Dad in a gym full of men she learned to take care of herself but she didn’t understand how to be a woman or at least she didn’t think she did. After a painful breakup that left her devastated, she reinvented herself into the woman people see today; smart, confident, no holds barred honest, and a straight talker. I really did admire the way she took over her father’s business, landed a partner, reinvented the training facility, and went after fighters to help make a name for their business. Yes at times her baggage and insecurities drove me a little bit nuts but what I loved was that even though she didn’t realize it with Tony she let her defenses down and showed him the woman behind that facade. She impressed me with the way she rallied behind Tony and how strongly she believed in him even when others did not and the fact that she saw him for the good man that he is and discovered there is way more to him than the press chooses to see.

It’s no wonder Florida is known for its heat with these two people living there…they give off some serious sparks and their sexy times were smokin’ hot. Despite Francesca being confident in her business she wasn’t confident in her personal life and Tony was more than happy to prove to her she was everything he wanted and needed both in and out of the bedroom.

We see all the players from the first two books along with some new faces and they all add a nice backdrop to this story. Tony’s mother is a piece of work but man did I love her brashness. These two had a lot of people interested in their relationship and they weren’t afraid to chime in or lend an ear when needed.

No doubt about it in my mind, Below the Belt is the best book in this series to date; I loved it from start to finish and found it impossible to put down. Not only that, I’m looking forward to re-reading it almost as much as I’m looking forward to what happens next in this fun and exciting series.

I knew there was a reason fighter romance was my favorite genre.

I love meeting a new troubled fighter that is hard as nails on the outside, and sweet and vulnerable on the inside.

Tony aka "Scarface" is hot, sexy and a complete alpha bad ass. In the beginning that is, I like the brooding dominate Tony but I absolutely loved the sweet, insecure and whipped Tony.

The relationship that he has to "fight for" throughout this entire book makes him that much more attractive to me. See, Tony has a bit of a jealousy problem and it puts quite a strain on the relationship he is trying to create with Francesca.

"Oh, please. Stop that. Just because you're always thinking with your dick doesn't mean all other males are the same." She started walking again.

"Really? 'Cause that guy getting into his car right now," he said, pointing behind them, "just eye-f*cked you. He must've noticed your sparkling personality."

I adored reading about these two. They both have baggage and trying to forget the past and look to the future seems impossible.

Francesca has major commitment issues and no matter what Tony does, she just can't get over them. Tony goes from bad ass to whipped ass very quickly. Constantly trying to get her to commit and my heart breaks for him throughout the book. He pleads his love to her on a daily basis and just wants her to respond with those 3 little words...

"Because the future is you. It's you by my side, as my wife. My future is you and kids and four ridiculously named cats, but you have to love me first. And that scares the shit out of me. You can't even admit you like me."

If you are looking for a light story line, an alpha male and extremely HOT AND STEAMY SEX....buy this book. I give Below The Belt 4.5 tough ass stars.

4 Brilliantly HOT MMA STARS!!!★★★★

Once again, an author I didn't have any expectations of because I haven't read any of the previous books and I was pleasantly surprised.

The story kicks off with Hot attraction and chemistry between the H/H Antonio and Franchesca...

Franchesca manages the training gym that MMA fighter Antonio trains at.. He's a bit of a hot head but he's got his sights on his sexy manager and is relentless in his pursuit of her..

Once he gets her though, the sparks fly....

And the ups and downs from their passionate relationship keeps you glued till the very end...

I loved this story, about as much as I like any other MMA story...

And boy can this lady write a hot sex scene or what!!!

I did however wonder for most it how exactly Antonio sounds when he says "cock"...

The third book set in Tarpon Springs, Florida and the Worth the Fight Academy features Francesca and Tony. Tony’s a fighter who is struggling with a comeback, though he won’t acknowledge it. Francesca is struggling with dropping her emotional wall, though she won’t admit it. And then, romance.

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between

Tarpon Springs, where hot MMA fighters roam free: Hurricanes aside, it’s an interesting town populated with very hot fighters, pretty beach houses...and um, did I mention hot fighters? Yeah, I would go there. Better yet, as the ‘verse keeps building, the more I like the characters and the camaraderie between them. The couples from the earlier books appear and enhance the story, but don’t take over. The teasers for future couples are there of course, and I’m interested to see the next couple, Cain and Violet, get their story.

Tony’s all machismo: Tony’s a passionate Cuban male, all testosterone with a touch of insecurity that he covers with his posturing. He never holds back what he feels, for better or for worse. He’s almost too emotional at first, talented with sticking his foot in his mouth and and for a thirty-four year old, he needed to grow up. He’s not a perfect alpha male, just a flawed one. The glimpses of him working with kids softened his hard edges though, and I could see why Frankie’s so attracted to him.

Francesca’s a bit prickly: Francesca, or Frankie, or Frances, whatever you want to call her, spends ALOT of time holding all her emotions in. She is the complete opposite of Tony, but she has her irrational, emotional moments too, which...ok made me want to slap her upside the head, but, still. From the earlier books, I would have never pictured her to be as uptight as she really is, so I actually enjoyed seeing how much she hid from everyone. As she relaxes and learns to let go, she became much more tolerable. Seeing her interaction with her ex-husband Rodrigo, you get a well-needed peek into what made her so carefully controlled and I would have liked to seen even more of that explored.

Yes, I have to mention the dogs! and kitties!: Drogo and his brood make an appearance and there’s Disney princess kittens and Winston. An adorable break in the action.

Tony’s family is very familiar (in a good way): As a member of a loud Hispanic family myself, Tony’s mother had me cracking up.
“his mother’s voice had only two volumes: loud and super-fucking-loud”

TRUTH, people, truth. But underneath the fussing and the nagging, the love was clear and I really liked the added dimension it gave to Tony’s character, to see where he came from.

More emotions, less sex please: Now, Frankie and Tony both had the combined maturity level of a pouty teenager for a good portion of the story, but they did grow and eventually learn to get over themselves. I know it’s a bit odd, but I would have liked to have read more about them having emotional conversations, and less sex scenes. They’re not the strongest part of the story anyway, and they began and ended fairly quickly, so I would have preferred to see them spend that time talking. I know I’m strange, but what can I say? The feels mean more to me than sex.

The Bottom Line
A bit of drama, a bit of funny and a bit of romance - I liked visiting Tarpon Springs again in this easy read. I’d recommend for those interested in the lighter side of MMA fighters.

My Review:
Although this is the third book in the series, this is my first time reading this author. I'll admit it took me a bit to get into the story and that probably wouldn't have been the case if I'd read the other two books first. But on its own, this book works, too. It just takes a bit longer to become emotionally attached to the characters because these two aren't easy ones.

Tony is a 35 year old MMA fighter, but he's getting to where he enjoys the party lifestyle much more than he enjoys the training and fighting that earns him that lifestyle. Tony's a flirt and doesn't take too much in this world too seriously. He likes his women, partying, and drinking. Right now, he'd really like to get under Francesca's skirt.

Francesca has invested her gym into Tony and his fights. She needs him to win for the financial security of the gym. Francesca is a force to be reckoned with and I loved that about her. She grew up in this gym her dad built and she can't fight and grapple as well as any of the MMA pros. But she doesn't show that side of herself anymore. Now all anyone sees is the hard-nosed, suit-wearing, ball-busting professional facade that she presents day in and day out. But there are a few times when Frankie's physical skills are put to the test in this book and every time she took one of the guys down, I was cheering. I loved how well she can fight too. She knows her strengths and knows how to use them effectively against these bigger, stronger guys.

Like I said, it did take me a little bit to get into the story. Neither one of these characters are ones that I would meet and like on the street but that's because they both hide their real selves so well. As those layers and walls are torn down throughout the story, I got where I liked them more and more. Then there are little details that make the book, too...especially the cat/kittens. I loved that whole aspect of the story and how it helped to define both these characters, but especially Tony. Who couldn't love a guy who made that kind of sacrifice daily?

And the book is completely sexy. Francesca has some hang-ups which Tony flat-out does not allow. He's all alpha and pushes her past her fears which was a beautiful thing. Overall, it turned out to be a pretty good read. And note...those that have read the whole series have given it glowing reviews while those of us new to it, have liked it, but not quite as much as the series regulars. That tells me that this one would be better if read as part of the series, although it works as a stand-alone. Take that as you will...

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This was the first book by Sidney Halston that I've read and I did enjoy it but it did not blow my mind or shock my senses.

description

It was a pleasant read because it was well written and I do love a good fighter novel :D

0% so intrigued by tony and francesca! Looking forward to reading their story :D

3% His eyes narrowed on her as his chest rose and fell with his shallow breaths. The silence was deafening for about thirty seconds as he seemed to contemplate what she’d said. “Fuck you!” he grunted before storming out of the gym.
Oh tony :( you need to listen to what everyone's telling you and stop being so arrogant!!

7% No one seemed to know the issue between Cain and Violet—but there definitely was a story there, because Francesca had witnessed Cain’s insane jealousy and protectiveness toward Violet.
I seriously need Cain n Violets story! So so curious! <3

8% But Francesca was more enthralled with Jack. The big brawny cop and MMA fighter seemed to be using every bit of self-control not to cry. ... When Chrissy finally reached the front, she placed her palm against Jack’s face; his eyes closed, and she gently swiped a tear away with her thumb. He covered her hand with his and mouthed, “I love you.”
Awww my heart melted! <3 Jack n Chrissy! <3 <3

9% Then, amid hoots and catcalls, Jack removed Chrissy’s garter, and it was the men’s turn to line up. Francesca prayed Tony wouldn’t participate, but the man was front and center. She closed her eyes and held her breath as the garter flew across the room. She opened one eye to see Tony practically tackle all the other men.
Hahahaha I love that image! Go Tony!

11% He followed behind, calling her name. “Damn it. Would you just stop running?
Oh Franceca! Why are you running!?! What happened in the past?!?

12% You don't always have to be strong, you know. That seemed to change something in her. “Yeah, I do.” She turned and climbed into her car, shutting the door behind her.
Why Francesca? Why cant you let anyone, especially Tony in?!?

17% “I was hurt, Tony. A guy from this gym right here hurt me, and it took me a long time to get over it. Every time I walk in here, that’s what I think about. I can’t go through that again.” Her admission was startling. “I will not go through that again.”
???? Oh Francesca what happened?! I need to know!

18% Whoever he was, he wasn’t a man, he was a boy, because a real man wouldn’t make you feel like that.”
Awwww Tony! The things you say! I seriously cant stop highlighting!

21% His eyes skimmed up and down her body, then he cupped her face. “Scared the shit out of me, Vi.”
I need Cain n Violets stroy! I cant wait for it! <3 :D <3

22% “Dude, it’s explain, not esplain,” Slade said. He leaned closer to Tony and repeated the word slowly, emphasizing the x. “Explain.”
Tony leaned in, much like Slade, and in the same tone said, “Fuck you,” overenunciating the k.

Hahahahaha <3 Tony!

25% He pulled away and looked at her. To his surprise, she looked at him for a second before saying, “Fuck it.” She fisted his hair and drew him to her, her lips crashing toward his.
Haha go Francesca! <3 I really wanna know more about her past and why she's so afraid! <3

28% “And to top it off, I’m pretty sure I suck at it.”
What?!?! Okay now Im sooo curious! Why does she think that?!?

29% For eight years, that tightly constructed wall around her heart had kept her nice and safe, but somehow this man had clawed his way inside those walls and had made himself comfortable.
I love that! <3 Im loving these two!! <3 <3

34% “So you two know each other?” Tony snarled, not bothering to tone it down. With a big toothy smile, Rodrigo looked over at Francesca. “Oh, yeah. We know each other.”
Oh shit I think I know who Rodrigo is?! :/

36% Tony’s head whipped around to look at her—just as he hit a bush by her house.
Oh wow! That was news! Love that it caused Tony to crash hahaha <3

40% “Damn.” He leaned back and ran his hand down his face. “I’m kind of speechless here. But I guess now I can see why you’re so skittish.”
Yes damn! But glad she never hesitated in explaining <3 <3

42% “Before today, I didn’t really get it. Not on you, at least.” She read out loud the one on his forearm: “Gentleness can only be expected from the strong.” She kissed it before she continued, “You’re the strongest man I know and yet the softest.”
I agree Francesca! I LOVE TONY SO FUCKING MUCH! I dno when it happened but Ive fallen head over heels for Tony! <3

45% He scooted back and put his arms behind his head. “Explore away.” He loved how she was slowly becoming more comfortable with her sexuality.
Me too! I love Francesca! <3 <3

50% “You’re totally falling for me, Francesca Silva, and I can’t wait to see your reaction when you figure it out.”
I love this but it seems to be going too well! Im scared though I hope Im wrong :(

52% He threw his hands up in the air and started rambling on in Spanish before he faced her again. “Don’t bat your eyes, throw your pussy in my face, and then go sleep with your husband.”
Oh shit! I knew shit was going to hit the fan!! :'(

55% “I know we’re supposed to hate each other. I mean, you’re sleeping with my ex-wife and we’re fighting in a major bout soon, but can I give you some advice?” When Tony didn’t reply, Rodrigo continued. “I screwed up eight years ago. I let her go. She was my wife and my best friend and I lost her. I should’ve fought for her. And now it’s too late. Don’t make the same mistake I did. You’ll regret it for the rest of your life. She likes to run away and to hide her emotions. When you find her, she’s going to shut down. That’s just the way she is.”
Awww Rodrigo doesnt seem that bad tbh - he just made mistakes :)

60% “I trusted you. Why the fuck did I trust you?” Tears clouded her eyes. “Calm the fuck down. You gotta listen to me.” “I don’t gotta do anything.”
Oh Francesca :'( listen to him! You're hurting my heart!

61% Just fucking say it! Don’t you get it? You’re fucking hurting me! Every time you don’t tell me how you feel, you’re breaking my damn heart!”
:O Tony!!!! God Im loving this book - I cant put it down!

69% She had to laugh. “You know that’s crazy, right?” “I know!” he yelled in frustration, his hands flailing over his head.
Awwww Tony!! <3

72% You want to be the boss lady? Fine. Boss me around all you want. I’ll do anything and everything. But here, in our fucking bed, you’ll close your eyes and let go. It’s gonna be good, Francesca.” He pushed forward, a little more roughly. “But if you want to keep fighting me, go ahead. It’s getting me all fucking hard.”
<3 <3 <3

78% Where she was closed off like a vault, he was open. He let his emotions pour out of his body: anger, jealousy, worry, love. All of it was out there, consequences be damned. But the truth was that even if she didn’t—or couldn’t—verbalize her own feelings, her heart was already on the line.
I love that! That they're opposite yet perfect for each other! <3 <3

80% Francesca was heartbroken, and more intimidated than she’d ever felt in her entire life.
Oh poor Francesca! :'(

85% He laughed, covered her, and kissed her forehead before heading out for a jog. He needed a distraction from the world’s worst case of blue balls.
Haha poor Tony! haha <3

87% “Fuck it.” She reached up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and pulled him down. The crowd cheered louder. His arms came around her waist and pulled her in closer. His lips parted, giving her greedy tongue access. She was on the verge of violating rule number two. “Bro. Seriously? Not a good time.” Slade’s voice broke them apart.
Awwwww pefect! <3

88% “Hey, guys, I’m going to change,” Tony announced. “You all need to get out of here for a little bit.” “So fucking change. You change in the locker room all the time—what’s the big deal?” Slade asked. Tony groaned, and his eyes narrowed at Slade. “Oh. Gotcha!” Slade turned and announced, “Everybody get the fuck outta here. Tony needs some time with his woman.” “Subtle son of a bitch,” Tony hissed, and Francesca laughed and buried her embarrassed face in his chest.
Hahahahaha Slade! hahaha <3 <3

90% Long gone was the timid girl in the bedroom; Francesca gave as good as she got. He might have been in charge, but she’d learned a few moves in the last few months. She clenched her inner muscles, then brought her hands to her clit and began to rub. “Fuck, cariño. Keep touching yourself,” he grunted as he continued to move in and out, his eyes fixed on the way he disappeared inside her.
I love it! so hot!

91% Cain’s gone. He left. Won’t be back for months.
What??? Oh god I need Cain and Violets book! LIKE NOW! <3

100% Amazing! Loved this book! Tony and Francesca are perfect! Cant wait for the other books in this series! Especially Cains book! <3 <3 Totally recommend this series!!!

This is a book that you can't help flying through. The combination of strength, sex appeal, loyalty, and intelligence that is personified by all members of the Worth The Fight cast is enough to make a reader want to stand up and cheer.

When one gets to bask in the spotlight that Below The Belt shines on the dynamic duo that is Francesca Silva and Antonio Marino however; one is truly allowed to witness the spinning of contemporary romantic gold.
Tony's body may grace this book's cover, but it is the story of "pretty as a picture, but tough as nails" boss lady, Francesca Silva that gives this story its fire.

Two things are very clear from the start, when it comes to sizing up things between Marino and Silva.

1. They are very evenly matched.
2. Nothing about the two of them together is going to be easy.

Author, Sidney Halston, does a wonderful job at allowing readers to meet the players in the game, before you meet the trouble in their shadows.
So, you meet Tony, the fighter with the "sound bite ready rep" and the "loverboy Latino charm",
long before you find out about his abusive father, his huge heart, or his love for his mother and family.
In the case of leading lady, Francesca, readers become well acquainted with her "large and in charge" business persona, long before the vulnerable lady in need of TLC for a heart never allowed to heal, is allowed to take the foreground.

Because both starring players are of Latin descent, you can rest assured that passions run high both in and out of the sheets.
Be warned however, that the blaze that burns so brightly between these two is often tempered by all the non-coital drama going on within this read.

This is a story for those unafraid to confront the imperfect perfection that can only be found in "real world relationships". Those where the happily is hard won, and the hearts and lives that are battled for, have proven to be Worth The Fight,

*Reviewer's Note*
This book is the third in a companion series that made be read in any order, as whole, or in part.

I received a copy of the referenced literary work in exchange for the honest review provided.

Loved this book...hit it up!
Review: I didn’t read the above blurb when I picked up this book. I had read Worth the Fight 1 and 2, so for me is was an auto-click. So to discover that Francesca had a short-lived marriage was a surprise to me…and I loved it. Hearing Tony tell her that it must have been “a boy that messed with your head,” was so manly! It’s a thing that a man would say. A confident, self-assured, successful man. The funny thing was…last week DH told me he loved me more now that 25 years ago…he said, “I was a boy then, I didn’t even know what I had. I am so glad you put up with me.” Men know the value of a great women…they aren’t threatened or worried…they are proud and turned on by a confident women!

That whole concept was the underpinning of this story. Francesca coming to terms with her past and setting it aside to be the woman she is inside…and for Tony, that woman was a bit of both Francesca’s: The Frances and The Frankie. I loved how the author wrote both of those Francesca’s perfectly and how Tony would interact with one side of her personality one way and a different way when her Frankie personality surfaced. Time and again, Tony said how much he loved that Frances could be all of herself with him. That is love, my friends. Letting down your walls, being who you are and not fearing that your love will leave you when they see you at your worst!

Beneath that hard exterior of Tony is a guy who's really caring, "did you say you hadn't slept with a man in eight years?" He ran his hands through his hair and down his face. "Why didn't you say anything? Jesus, Francesca, I feel like an a**hole." He paced around the kitchen saying things in Spanish she didn't understand. "That explains why you were so tight. I could've hurt you. Damn it!" His hands were fisted by his side." Tony has some jealousy and temper issues but you could totally tell he was attracted to his girl and cared for her, "it's fine. Come on." He reached for her hand and led her to the car. "I hope I can control my temper tonight. You're a effing hard-on, Francesca. Every guy's going to be looking at your legs." Francesca is so innocent so I find it cute when she does anything sexual with Tony on her own, "she stood at the edge of the bed and pulled his pants down together with his boxers. His d*** twitched. She chuckled. "I think it wants to play." Tony is a very dominate man and I loved that about him, "outside this bedroom, you can fight me all you want. But in this bed, you're effing mine, and I please my woman." Cain and Violet have caught my attention and I'm hoping their book is next.

****3.5 stars****

Francesca Silva took a chance on Antonio Marino, the MMA fighter better known as “Scarface” who tanked his career with too much booze and too many of his escapades with women making the tabloids. He was lucky enough to get a second chance thanks to her taking him on at her gym, but unfortunately for all involved, it was going to take more than just a lifeline to make him wake up and face the consequences of his decisions.

Tony, with his sexy Cuban accent, had the cocky tough guy routine down to a science, even if he didn’t really deserve the attitude anymore. The self-assuredness was there, but the talent and training just wasn’t. So, when he started getting even more distracted by his ever-present lust for Francesca, it looked like doom for both of them since she’d put a lot of money behind making him a star again. There was a LOT of tension between these two, both the good and the bad kind, and Tony couldn’t deal with the reality of his career potentially coming to a screeching halt and this woman denying him left and right. Francesca was strong-minded and had made herself a successful business co-owning the gym, but she was so guarded after having her heart broken that she was just NOT letting Tony crack her armor. Well, that’s what SHE said…

While I loved that Tony was all possessive and horndog crazy for Francesca, there were times that I wanted to throttle him for making stupid decisions. He had a bit of a temper that would rear its ugly head when his ego took a hit, so sometimes he was taking two steps forward and ten steps back. But, I still loved this sexy Cuban, especially when his accent slipped into a Ricky Ricardo impersonation and he was all over the place with his emotions! It was sweet and made me smile, and it just showed how passionate he was about this woman. She confounded him and challenged him at every turn, and her strength (yep, she can fight with the best of them!) was a thing of beauty. When they finally got under each other’s skin enough to take things up a notch, they were hot-hot-hot!

Below the Belt was a quick, sexy, fun read that fans of hot bad boys are sure to enjoy!

Quotes:
“So? We okay?”
“Of course we are. Why wouldn’t we be? My job is to keep you in line, and yours is to provoke me. You’re doing an awesome job at it, by the way.” ~Loc 321

For the first time since she could remember, she felt lost and unsure of herself. That’s what this man did to her—he made her question who she was. For eight years, that tightly constructed wall around her heart had kept her nice and safe, but somehow this man had clawed his way inside those walls and had made himself comfortable. ~Loc 1283

“Because that face of yours, it sometimes gives away how scared you are. Not of me, but of us. I just want to make sure that I don’t get too aggressive again. That you want this too.”
“Aggressive?” She snorted. “You? Not at all. That whole thing about fucking me on the hood of your car? Yeah, that was in no way aggressive.” ~Loc 1724

~ 3.5 Mi Amor Stars ~

It pains me to say this but this was not my favorite of this series. I loved both Against the Cage and Full Contact, but for some reason this one fell short for me. I did enjoy this story and I thought it was a good addition to this series, but I had a hard time connecting with Francesca.

As with the other books, I really like Sidney's writing style. Her stories are smooth and flow effortlessly. I think what the problem with this book to me was that it lacked a strong storyline. This book primarily revolved around Francesca and her trust issues and Tony's issues with his dad. There were two aspects in the story that I thought could've been built upon….The hurricane and Francesca's Ex, Rodrigo. I think expanding on those would've added more suspense and drama to the story and would've kept the reader on the edge of their seat.

Tony and Francesca were explosive characters. Both very strong willed and not ones to back down. With that said, they spent a lot of time arguing during this story. I did like some of their banter and the quick come backs, but by the time they were finally together, I was ready for it to be over. I thought all the arguing was a little over the top. Now I don't want to focus only on the negative….I LOVED Tony!!!! He was an amazing man. He honestly put up with so much from Francesca that I give him credit for not giving up. He is a sexy, sweet talking and panty melting MMA Fighter. You really can't go wrong with that combination. Oh and he was excellent with kids :) As for Francesca… I liked her but I had trouble connecting with her. She was just so angry all the time. What I did like about her was her dedication to her father and the gym. She was a strong, feisty and witty woman. I liked that she could give just as good as she got!!!

I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of this series and Sidney Halston's.

I am so in love with this series! I did receive this book as an ARC from Netgalley for my honest review, but don't get it confused, I have been stalking Netgalley waiting for this book and prepared to beg to get it as an ARC. Sidney Halston has the talent to spin a tale in a way that steals not only my breath but my heart.

Francesca Silva and Antonio are the classic don't judge a book by its cover, like my favorite cartoon character says they were like an onion, with so many layers that made it crystal clear how they became who they were. Now I must admit that at times I felt like things were happening and I had the oh no they did not say this or that to each other; but at the end of the day this book was realistic in the sense that, no relationship is perfect. Francesca and Antonio were both imperfect alone but together they made each other better.

This book was like watching a suspense movie. I kept trying to figure out what was going to happen, how it was going to end and what each character would give to the story but I kept getting surprised. I am not ashamed to admit that I kept trying to peak ahead on my nook to see how a scene would end. If you want a book packed with passion, love and heart breaking emotion , about two equally strong people, who have the guts to fight dirty for their love and their dreams, even if it means hitting below the belt then this book is exactly what you need.

Antonio “Scarface” Marino is an MMA fighter who has lost his way. He is used to being on top of the world and known as a the hot party boy and ladies man. Unfortunately for him all the partying brings attention he does not need, every argument and bar fight he is apart of slowly makes his career go down the drain.

Francesca has taken over her fathers MMA gym with a new partner after her father has a stroke. She needs to bring money in and create a name for her gym. Francesca Silva sees the potential in Antonio “Scarface” Marino, she signs him to her gym and hopes he can answer all her prayers.

Antonio and Francesca clash at every turn. Antonio feels like Francesca drives him crazy with her trash talk and by just walking into the room with her sexy suites and bombshell body. Francesca feels like Antonio drives her crazy because she cant help but blush at his flirtation and his sex appeal. She knows she should stay away but the temptation is strong and one night of passion between them opens up a whole can of worms that neither one of their hearts can handle.

If the first two books in this series are anything like Below the Belt, then I need to go back and read them. After seeing this on NG, I couldn’t resist but request for it. Yes, I admit it, I requested this book based solely on its cover. Can you blame me? Okay, so maybe I looked at the blurb after but initially it was because of the cover ;). With that said, I took a chance and it paid off. I thoroughly enjoyed Below the Belt.

Antonio Scarface Marino is one of the best MMA fighters around but pretty much is at the end of the rope of his career. His drinking and party days have caught up to him in a big way affecting his game. Not to mention his anger issues that are also taking a toll. His boss Francesca has had it and more than ready to put him in his place.

Francesca surprised me. She is definitely more than just a suit. Her background on MMA fighting impressed me, and it impressed Tony. Their relationship has a love-hate relationship but sparks fly, and they were very cute together. Tony was a bit annoying with his pride at times but overall he is an amazing guy. He is very passionate, seductive and very intense.

Though Below the Belt is the third in the series, it is also a stand alone. I enjoyed this installment and would definitely recommend it even if you have not read Sidney Halston’s other books.

Talk about a Knock Out Punch! BELOW THE BELT is a serious winner!

A Sexy, hot-head MMA fighter, and a tough as nails Brazilian bombshell...oh yeah...talk about Sparks Flying EVERYWHERE! The thunder of their arguments can be heard round the world! And I love every minute!!

I have yet to read the first two in the Worth the Fight series (which I will now be rectifying), but Sidney really pulled the emotion out with BELOW THE BELT. I was so sympathetic to how Francesca was feeling towards the thought of being in that "All-Consuming" love again, and it truly broke me heart.

Tony...oh Tony...how I love a Cuban Hot-Head...If you have ever heard a man who can ramble and curse in another language when he is angry...it's a thing of beauty...and kinda hysterical...I loved Tony's angry rambles. He wasn't all that everyone though from the outside, he was so much more. Be careful ladies...you will definitely be falling for this amazing man!

Just the perfect blend of Romance, Drama and Emotion to make for a Top Notch Read! Can't wait for Cain and Violets book!!

Tony is a MMA fighter at the end of his career. He signs on to train at WTF academy and Francesca is his boss. Fancesca's dad started WTF to train fighters and after his stroke, she helped take over. She's always dressed in the nicest clothes and always put together. Tony and Francesca have some serious chemistry and there is a lot of sexual tension between them. This book was a little more angsty than the other books in this series but I really enjoyed it. I loved Tony's family! This book is smoking HOT and there is a lot of sex. I am loving this series! This book can be read as a standalone but honestly, this series is so good I would recommend reading all the books. This author's writing is really fantastic, this book is fast paced and interesting. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Sexy MMA fighter: Check!
Kick-ass heroine: Check!
Explosive chemistry: Check!
Sexy accent: Check!

I love that Francesca can kick ass but still has a vulnerable side that only Tony gets to see. That said, I didn't like the way she pushes him away. Tony comes off as a cocky SOB, but he is actually a really good guy underneath the public persona. I love that he didn't give up on Francesca. His jealousy goes a bit overboard, but I get that he's never felt what he feels for her.

Great addition to the series although this book has a lot less drama.

This series just gets better and better. Tony and Frances were amazing. His mama is hilarious, loved her. What a way to tell someone "I love you." Now where has he (not telling you who) disappeared to and why and what does this mean for her?

Below the Belt is the third book in the Worth the Fight series by Sidney Halston. I haven’t read the first two books in the series, but I didn’t have any trouble jumping into this one. This romance novel about an MMA fighter and the owner of Worth the Fight gym is steamy, entertaining, and heartwarming.

Francesca is the owner of Worth the Fight gym, inheriting it when her father becomes too sick to properly run it. All Francesca wants is to make her father happy, so she puts her heart and soul into WtF. She spends so much time on the gym, she doesn’t have much time for a romantic life, not that she even wants one. Then she brings on Tony, and he threatens to break down all of the walls she’s built around herself.

Tony needs a little work, to put things lightly. He used to be a great fighter, but his tendency to get into bar brawls has hindered his career. Francesca has faith in him, he just needs someone to crack down on his training. But when Tony sets his sights on Francesca, he becomes a little bit distracted trying to get her attention.

I found myself really enjoying Below the Belt which kind of surprised me, because I did not like Tony at first. In fact, it took me quite a while before I actually warmed up to him. He’s an alpha male type character (MMA fighter, duh) but not in a good way. He sees Francesca as a challenge, something to be conquered, something to be tamed, not as an actual human being with feelings. He also doesn’t respect her boundaries in the beginning of the novel, which really made angry. But, that’s why character development is so important. By the end of the novel, I found myself liking Tony as a character. It’s easier once you see his softer side.

Francesca I really liked. I admire her for trying to make her father happy, and I admire her for the fact that she’s a badass who doesn’t need anyone to take care of her. She’s fiery and doesn’t take crap from anybody, which I love. She has no problem exercising her authority over Tony as his boss and telling him exactly what she thinks of him and his attitude. Francesca has her own issues though, mainly the fact that she’s absolutely terrified to let anyone get emotionally close to her. It was nice to see her try to work through those issues throughout the novel.

The book was really well written, it bounces between the perspectives of Francesca and Tony, which works out pretty well except sometimes it’s difficult to tell when a switch is taking place. I kind of wish I had gotten to know some of the side characters better. There’s a whole slew of people who are involved with WtF, but I feel like I only got to know Slade and Cain, and I didn’t get to know them very well.

Overall, I give Below the Belt 4 out of 5 controllers. As much as I hated Tony at the beginning of the novel, and I don’t use the term “hate” lightly here, I ended up really enjoying the novel, and I do think that him and Francesca actually went together very well.
