This wicked little Heist book was everything I wanted - sexy characters, high stakes action, clever plot twists. A couple of bank robbers sell their souls and assemble a team of similarly-damned individuals to break into Hell and steal the souls back. It plays the classics without falling into cliche. I want more!

This team has given us two great stories in Skyward and Shadecraft, and Big Burn makes it three. Great high concept, as a crew of thieves who sold their soul to the devil arranged a heist to steal them back from Hell.

Issue #1 – Slightly ridiculous premise, but the characterizations go a long way to suspending disbelief. It helps that the story opens teasingly strong. So buy into the ability to sell one's soul, and settle-in to enjoy Afterlife Oceans 5
Issue #2 – Left turns abound, wrenches-in-gears aplenty. And the Devil knows they're coming.
Issue #3 – Well-performed conclusion, with a tantalizing cliffhanger that doesn't leave the story incomplete or us feeling ripped-off.
