This book was previously published under the title Pride by Literary Freedom Publishing as part of the 7 Deadly Sins Series.
THEY SAY PRIDE IS THE ULTIMATE SIN… Angelique Devoe reigns supreme in the City of Sin, a self-made powerhouse and the CEO of a thriving music empire. She’s rich, famous, and untouchable—until the hits stop coming, the money dries up, and the empire she built begins to crumble. In an industry where loyalty is a myth and betrayal is currency, Angelique discovers the harsh every queen faces a reckoning. BUT POWER IS THE DEADLIEST ADDICTION. In the music business, sex sells. But nothing sells quite like death. And in a game where everyone is expendable, the cost of power may be Angelique’s own soul. When money, ambition, and deception collide, Angelique Devoe learns the ultimate pride may lift you to the top, but it will always bring you crashing down. WILL SHE RISE FROM THE ASHES—OR BECOME A CAUTIONARY TALE OF HER OWN MAKING?
I'm pretty sure this book came up in my recommendation because of Cutthroat so I was kind of hesitant but the blurb sounded good so I went ahead anyways.
Well, I was HOOKED. Angelique is the kind of character that you both root for and hate. Damien is tragic and all too easy to get invested in. The pacing was great. It's a story of a woman's desperation to maintain the power she worked hard to achieve and her control over what she created by any means. It was also a so very bleak tale of toxic family dynamics (immature and self-centered mothers, absentee or violent fathers…) and the price people end up paying for them.
Where do I start! I thoroughly enjoyed this story & Angelique Devoe had me FULLY invested, I was anxious to see how her story would play out. I was also invested in Damien’s character, as I had a soft spot for him. Toni Larue did an amazing job, interweaving these characters stories together for an outcome that you won’t see coming!
Angelique is simply used to getting her way! Being addicted to power, she’s willing to step on whoever, whenever, however she needs to in order to get to the next level. Will her devious ways finally catch up to her? Or will she continue to let her pride get in the way of her doing the right thing? I will let Detective Skye Watson answer that question!
Overall, this was a great read that I highly recommend. Very well paced, excellent writing style, easy to follow & simply addictive.
If you want to read about a female version of Suge Knight, then look no further. This book brought so many different emotions out of me. I don’t like Angelique with her evil tale, but I feel for her mother daughter relationship. I like Damien and feel so sorry for him. Big Skye is that girl !!! And Young Tae, my my my Young Tae. Interesting take on the sin pride.
Received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion. April 4th, sprint to pick this book up.
My favorite thing about this book is the pacing! I feel like everything happened at the time it was supposed to and it was deftly a page turner! Angelique was getting on my nerves but my girl had to do what she had to do! I have a soft spot for Damien lolllllllll and I love how their stories connected. Overall this was a fun thriller and I will always recommend Toni. Thank you so much for the ARC <3
Thank you for the ARC copy! It is true, we all fall down. It remains to be seen how we come back on top and what we do to get to the top. I was so happy for the ending to end the way it did! Read the novel and see if you feel the same way!
I received an Arc of this book and I’m so happy i did this book had me on edge i just knew at any moment things were going to hit the fan . Never rooted for somebody and prayed for the downfall that much in my life lol . This was so realistic . Perfect read i can’t wait to read more by this author .
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ 🆃🅷🅾🆄🅶🅷🆃🆂 After reading 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧, I can say, without a doubt, that Toni Larue’ has become one of my FAVORITE authors!
I cannot rave enough about this read. From the very first page, I was captivated by the story and COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!
This story will take you on a journey of two flawed individuals who were set up for failure from a very early age. They are two people searching for love and acceptance in people that will never give them what they are searching for. Separately, they are dangerous but when they come together, they are deadly!
I loved everything about 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧. From the world-building to the way the characters were written (dynamic characters who will have the reader guessing and wondering what their next steps will be; strong female leads—these women held their own against those around them; I reveled in the actions they took to get what they wanted), this story was exceptionally well written.
The pacing of the story was also PERFECTION! I loved how the author keeps the reader on their toes. There is a lot of suspense and mystery and up until the end, I did not know what was going to happen. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Ms. Toni Larue’ went and changed things up and I was like “OMG, where did that come from.”
And let’s talk about that ending….it was soooooo good. Though it was great, it did leave me with a little bittersweet taste in my mouth. Why? Because I fell in love with a character, I hurt for them, I felt their pain, and I desired an ending for them that they did not receive. You would think that this would make me hate the ending. Absolutely not! This is what made this read an ♾️ star instead of just a 5-star read. As a reader, especially as a reader of thrillers, I love leaving a book a little conflicted. Because we have characters we love and we want one thing for them, but you know what, life is not like that. Crazy things happen all the time and when they happen in my thriller reads, those are the books that I absolutely fall in love with. Thrillers that subvert my expectations are the best, in my opinion!
Again, this was another AMAZING book by Toni Larue’ that I would 100% recommend. If you want to read a great psychological thriller with unpredictable twists and turns and a very satisfying ending, 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧 would be the perfect read for you.
This was my honest review of an Advanced Reader’s Copy of 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧. Thank you Toni Larué for the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing ARC team.
Lust, Envy, Anger, Greed, Gluttony and Sloth are All Bad but Pride is the Deadliest of All and the Beginning of Sin…Only Punishable by Death
Angelique…Girl you ruthless. The things you will do to stay on top and save face. Although you had every right to be upset with your once mentor, the manipulation you showed was so real. All that for what so your mom would be proud. Pride sounds good in the moment but karma gone get you every time Oh Damien my friend…The things we do for love. I wish you would have stuck with your first mind. Love shouldn’t bring trauma. Unresolved trauma can hunt you
I wasn’t expecting that ending. So good. My question is what will happen next with Detective Skye…Hmmm 🤔
I received this as an ARC (thank you for the opportunity) and I just want to say, make sure you get this book on April 4th, 2025.
We All Fall Down by Toni LaRue is an engaging and emotionally charged read that blends suspense, drama, and raw human emotion. Angelique and Damien are well-developed, and keeps you turning pages. Toni LaRue does a great job of exploring complex themes like family, loyalty, and the consequences of past choices. Candice we say exposing all the childhood traumas in these two.
This book is a strong, compelling story that leaves a lasting impression (the end took me out). A solid read for fans of urban fiction and gritty, character-driven narratives.
“Pride. Power. Betrayal.” Toni Larue’s We All Fall Down is a sharp, psychological thriller that pulls you into the crumbling empire of Angelique Devoe, a once-successful music exec fighting to keep her company afloat in the age of streaming.
With desperation mounting, Larue explores the dangerous line between ambition and self-destruction. Angelique is a character you want to root for—even when her actions start to blur the lines between right and wrong.
It’s a short, gripping read that had me questioning everything—especially how far I’d go to protect what’s mine. If you like your thrillers with morally complex characters and high emotional stakes, grab this one.
This story is juicy, dark, and a little twisted in all the right ways. It makes you wonder just how far someone will go when the money’s talking and everybody is disposable. Trust, no one is safe, and I ate up every messy moment.
Angelique is that boss—giving “Mallory” from Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black vibes with her don’t-play-that attitude... She’s the CEO of a music label that’s circling the drain, but instead of folding, strange deaths start stacking up… and somehow, the label picks up. Coincidence? You’ll have to read and find out!!!
Angelique is the epitome of prideful. Struggling with her inner child, looking for acceptance, she cares about no one but herself. She will stop at nothing, with no regards of who she affects to maintain her own image.
Angelique’s back is against the wall, struggling to save her failing record label. How far will she go? Mixing pride with power, nobody’s safe... including her
Toni’s writing is so easy to follow. I love how detailed she writes, everything weaves in together so effortlessly!
ARC Reader review. Again I had the privilege of being an ARC Reader for Ms. Toni Larue. And again her book had me in a chokehold, I could not put this down until I finished it. Pride is definitely the essence of all sin! Angelique was not going to let her pride get in the way of her success. The ending was shocking! Not expected at all!
**Advanced Reader Review** Greed, power, pride and manipulation collide in this dark read of who done it! Running on desperation, raw emotions, and deadlines, Angelique knows no bounds when it comes to saving Soul, but it's her soul that needs saving the most. Trauma bonds, acceptance, and the love of being on top shows just how far one will go before "We All Fall Down."
She was stone COLD! Angelique was a disturbed woman, self-absorbed and seemingly lacking empathy, maybe because her mom never showed her love or approval. Damion Yates loved Angeligue unconditionally, but she only saw him as a tool. When Angelique feels she might lose everything, this heartless woman begins a selfish, self-preserving journey. Will she learn her lesson in the end?
My review for We All Fall Down: I love the vivid description and how the poetic words connected me with the character's emotions. This is a fast-paced book, and I love the plot. I couldn't put this book down! I highly recommend it!!!
This was interesting it really showed the power of manipulation. I feel a little bad for Damien and Angelique. It's like they both wanted the love and approval from both moms. Good Read I would recommend
TONI ! Girl ! Once again ? You did your absolute thing with this book. I didn’t see that ending panning out the way it did!! Can’t wait for the next read cause as usual ? You got me waiting on pins and needles!!
This was an excellent lesson on pride, this book was so good Toni has done an excellent job giving us character development and the scenes she wrote about Vegas makes you feel like you’re there in the middle of the drama.
This was such a fun read. I love the way the story came together and the themes it discussed. I was not at all expecting the book to end the way it did but I’m not mad at it!
"Pride is more than the first of the seven deadly sins; it is itself the essence of all sin." In this action thriller, Angelique learns that lesson along with Detective Skye. We All Fall Down had me hooked from the proluge. This book was captivating, unpredictable, and mind-boggling. It left me thinking why do people manipulate others, and the value of life. If you like thrillers, quick reads, and the music world, this book is for you.
