I enjoyed the book from cover to cover, literally, because even the covers were thoughtfully designed. It made me homesick and allowed me to revisit the city I grew up in. It still taught me so many new things about this place I call my hometown because the content is so well-researched. More than just a record of Hong Kong’s architectural history, the book weaves its thesis subtly yet elegantly throughout the beautifully written articles. I’ll leave the detective work to you, but here’s a hint: read between the lines.
