The patients of Eldemere Psychiatric Hospital are turning into zombies, and the hospital’s poorly designed security system has trapped everyone inside. A group of unlikely heroes must rely on their wits, luck, and at least one straitjacket to survive until help can arrive the following day.
A dwarf psychiatrist, a fitness-obsessed nurse, and a professional wrestler unite in to save the hospital’s juvenile patients from the raging horde of ghouls. Their quest will bring them face to face with a legion of undead patients, zombified psychiatrists, deranged administrators, and one fiendishly handsome serial killer.

this was a page turning read til the end. full of action and detail of the actions awesome. I could picture what the author was writing. you could read this and in the mind played like a movie ...
a few typos .. nothing major and hard to spot if your just reading I only caught them when disturbed in the midst (lol) and had to backtrack where I was.
I love zombie , the gore and any "real" horror genre out there. because this is a short novel it is so easy to spoil it lol. so as vague as I can be there is this short doctor who seems to be a tad embarrassed about his condition who spends his free time playing video games zombie killing video games to be exact ... little does he know he's been training for the real thing .. (lol) . the clincher a psycho shrink decides it'd be cool to poison the psych ward patients and faculty with some kind of virus that turns them into you guessed it .. zombies. only three weren't infected and y? because these were the only workers who brought a bag lunch with them... a short dr, a custodian, and rich nurse.
these three end up being zombie slayers to protect themselves and the kids' ... unfortuneatly children have a slower metabolism rate and the poison everyone ingested eventualy strikes them as well. and of course the doc who started this whole fiasco ... hmm... does he become a midnight snack?
the irony... the short doc.. dr hexer... who likes zombie killing games, also has a hobby of Halloween displays with ..... zombies. and after the hospital goes kablooey ... now how did that happen.... hmm... (gotta read it for the details)... he takes on his hobby with the only other survivor of eldemore... a haunted house of zombies... real? or robotic?
a family driving down the road spots a child standing on the side of the road. they pick him up even tho he seems strange... nobody notices the decay color, that he is not speaking, that he stumbles , the look in his eyes... he is sick they think . they are going to get him help in the next town... they drive off... then notice the smell... that decayed flesh smell.. do they make it to the town? is there a world contamination? hmm.... (read the book)
and lastly .. I need to know what happens what becomes of the two.... dr hexer and Samuel..... definitely need a sequel keep writing loved it whole heartedly .. :)
Do Psych Ward patients get smarter after turning into Zombies? The midnight shift gets interesting after a famous movie star is admitted as a new patient earlier that evening. When the hospital loses power during the night, everyone finds themselves locked in and without communications to the outside world, thanks to the newly installed security system.
Patients and staff begin turning into zombies and seek live humans to satisfy their hunger. The on-call doctor, nurse, orderly and ten children from E-Ward are somehow immune, but must fight the horde to survive. What caused this? Is there a way out of the locked building? Will they all survive?
I highly recommend this book to anyone enjoying that enjoys zombie novels. This one is a little different from the norm as there is no apocalypse and the horror is confined to the hospital. However, it could go global if these characters are not able to put a stop to everything before the day shift arrives and the power is restored. Fun read!

Zombies are great but lately everybody writes about them and they were getting boring..........until now. This story puts a whole new scare in horror books. It's funny, gory, action packed, and of course scary. My favorite character was Chester. I thought the ending was great and I can't wait to read the next book.
In general I've read many zombie books and I've become about jaded, but this one held my attention. I liked the characters and way the story was panning out, until..........the very end of the book. It went against everything they had fought for and done in the book. It made absolutely no sense to me. It ended very dissapointingly.
This is not the typical post apocalypse zombie story. It has plenty of unique elements including rejected love’s revenge, simple humor, an elven dwarf, an ogre, a fairy princess, and of course, psych ward zombies.
It really is pretty incredible, with lots of pulse-pounding action, a brilliant spin on the genre!
this was your typical zombie type book. It occured in a mental hospital and the zombies overtook the whole hospital. The Zombies were created by a deranged doctor and in the end the doctor was killed. This is a book suitable for young adult children with a touch of horror and comedy present.
Clever story with unique characters: most importantly, FINALLY a dwarf for a main character! Lots of action back-to-back so it was a little fast faced for my taste. But overall, a fall story and a great read.
I loved the main theme and lead characters..but the ending was almost foreseeable with the kid, but the idea of them making their own real zombies for the attraction...just didn't feel right for survivors.
This book was hilarious! I was laughing at some of the lines in the book as I read. I loved how the author had so much humor thrown in despite the fact that the people were fighting for their lives against zombies. Throwing in a wrestling orderly was a nice touch as well. I will definitely look for more books by this author!!
A fun bit of zombie reading. This was free for Kindle but I wouldn't have been upset if I had paid a bit for it. Liked the characters and the plotline. Was only a little annoyed by one plot element that I remember but understand why it was done.
I flew through this book and not just because it was short...even though it was but also because the story kept my interest. If you are a fan of zombies go get this book.
