My fiancé has been working night shifts, I’m irrationally afraid of the dark, and sleeping alone is not my favorite activity — so the Fortune Records series has basically become my emotional support read. There’s something about these books that feels incredibly cozy and safe, even though they’re monster romances. They’re never grotesque, never overly fetish-y — just warm, comforting, and fun.

⊹ ࣪ ˖☕️ The Setup

Rosie owns a café, isn't afraid of Monsters, and is open to the idea of a fated mate (even though she's not really looking for anything serious at the moment)— especially after seeing her best friend Flora’s love story play out. She’s busy keeping her espresso machine from exploding, but she’s not afraid of a little destiny.

Enter Finnegan: sharply dressed Orc Alpha, Fortune Records chief strategist, and surprise fated mate. Their bond sparks instantly but what really defines their relationship is how patient Finnegan is, and how willing he is to put in the work to win her over.

𓇢𓆸 Rosie & Finnegan

Rosie was such a joy as an FMC. Warm, bubbly, she felt grounded and real.

Finnegan, though… listen. Orc in a suit? Yes. Kind, respectful, filthy rich, and intense without being overbearing? Also yes. I loved that instead of immediately claiming Rosie, he woos her properly — dates, flowers, trust-building, the whole thing.

That said… him being labeled an Alpha and a switch threw me off a little. I wasn’t mad about it — I just found myself wishing we’d gotten a bit more of his dominant side during the spicy scenes. The potential was absolutely there, and I wanted just a touch more bite; however, that side was definitely shown in him picking dinner locations and handling property scouting.

⋆.˚🫂༘⋆ Romance & Spice

Their love story did feel a little rushed (this is the shortest book in the series so far)— but to be fair, that’s kind of the nature of fated mates. When you can automatically tell someone is your person, things move fast. The chemistry is solid, the spice is fun, and the balance between tenderness and heat works well overall.

Zinnia is another warm, comforting installment in a series that continues to surprise me with how soothing it is. While it didn’t completely knock my socks off, I really enjoyed Rosie and Finnegan’s dynamic — and I loved seeing an Orc Alpha who leads with patience and respect.

Zinnia is my third favorite of the series thus far. Three stars not because it wasn’t good, but because that’s just where it landed for me.

I was so excited when Sofia announced she was writing an orc mmc and the book didn't disappoint! A big, tough looking orc male that is a switch? YES PLEASE. The spice and chemistry between Finnegan and Rosie was so hot.

And Finnegan was so sweet. Even when he had the mate bond pushing him to claim Rosie he tried hard not to intimidate her or make her uncomfortable. And gave her space when she wanted to take it slow and date.

So glad Rosie finally got her HEA and didn't have to give up her dreams of expanding her cafe.

This book is for the girlies that would love nothing more than to put a huge monster on their knees.

The dynamics in this one were great. I love getting 2 Switches together because it just makes things more fun.

I loved that we got to see a little of the couples from the other books. Seeing them all interact within the record company was nice!
I liked getting a bit more of the monsters and humans discourse too.

I just wish there was a bit more of a conversation in regards to the kink aspects. Maybe a discussion on limits and boundaries before jumping right in.

It is book 4 in the Fortune Records series and you definitely should read the other ones first so you get the whole plot. The other characters in the books all mingle in this one so you may be a bit lost without the context.

This series follows a world where monsters and humans don't coexist together until a new record label decides to pair up the species in the entertainment world. In this book we follow our human FMC as she navigates finding love and taking care of her coffee shop!

Zinnia was cute and spicy as the others following an Orc and human this time! This was my first Orc romance and I definitely plan to read more. I really liked the continued connection of these books and the characters and learning more about the world.

Rosie is thriving with her cozy little café, but something’s missing—something she can’t quite put her finger on. Enter Finnegan, a massive, intimidating-looking orc who turns out to be the sweetest thing ever. And the best part? He’s her fated mate. But instead of steamrolling into her life, he takes his time, respects her boundaries, and lets her set the pace. Even with the mate bond pulling at him, he never pressures her—just pure, patient devotion. It’s adorable.

And the dynamic between them? Whew. Two switches together? That’s just a recipe for fun. The chemistry is off the charts, and the way they balance each other is just chef’s kiss. You get all the tension, all the soft moments, and all the spice in the best way possible.

Plus, I loved seeing glimpses of past couples and getting more of the monster-human discourse in this world. The Fortune Records universe keeps expanding in the best ways, and I swear each book just makes me fall harder for it.

Bottom line? Zinnia is cute, cozy, and ridiculously hot. It’s perfect for curling up under a blanket and watching a tough-but-tender orc fall head over heels for a woman who knows exactly what she wants. If this is your first orc romance, I guarantee it won’t be your last.💘

Sofia writes some of my favorite monster romance and I already knew going into this that I was going to love it! My only complaint is I already want more of these characters!

Rosie is a sweet business savvy woman who owns her own cafe. She is bubbly and good with people, able to make genuine connections with the beings around her. She is shocked when one day Finnegan, a giant orc comes and sits at her cafe. She ignores him as he continues to visit until she finally admits her attraction to him.

Finnegan is a big sweet boy and I want to hug him! He works at Fortune Records and is just as business driven as Rosie is. If not more so. I adored these two together! The way he describes how beautiful she is? Swoon.

I loved the fact that they both admitted the attraction but decided to ease into it all. It still moved quickly but when you know, you know. And them both being switches? Yum. I love how he could easily pick her up and do what he wanted but he could also take what she wanted to give.

Overall another sweet, spicy romance by Sofia and I’m on cloud nine over them.

Now here’s to hoping we get a story for Aspis because I love Naga males so much!! 🥰

This was such a good edition to the series! I loved the dynamics between Rosie and Finnegan. I loved how determined Finnegan was to be around Rosie, coming to her cafe all the time even though he would get weird looks and get subjected to other people prejudice. How he wanted to spoil her so badly and how he always smiled at her so brightly when they interacted. He was so confident when interacting with her and then when the dynamic switched during spicy time, he was submissive and ready to listen. I personally LOVE that dynamic so much.

The spice between them was soooo good, I loved that both MCs were switches and how Rosie was more than happy to take control. I wanted to see more of Finnegan’s orc tendencies and more scenes with Rosie in charge. I personally felt that the ending was a bit rushed, with the mating bite and the heat. I think in other books, those switches were more intensive and involved. But other than that, I absolutely loved it!

just like the ones before this, I absolutely adored them!! I'm always left wanting more with this series but its not for the lack of plot or because something is missing, but because I'm selfish and want more time with such lovely characters. Finishing each book gets more and more bittersweet.

The author does a fantastic job at writing characters that make you fall in love, I also really enjoyed the switch dynamic between the two main characters. it's something you don't often find and it was a very pleasant surprise.

I truly adore monster romances with subtle plots, I love it when they focus on the relationship between the main characters and this one is no different, of course, Rosie is focused on expanding her café but its all done with the help of her handsome Orc. A lovely addition to an even lovelier series!

This book left me with a feeling that someone promised me ice cream and then proceeded to tell me all the different flavors available... not an 🍦 in sight.

Let me explain: I loved the story outline, the dynamics of the main characters, and especially the switch x switch part - yum yum. But everything was written so superficially that it left no room for submersion in the book.

Same goes for the spice. There were plenty of scenes in the last part of the book, and they were explicit, but over so fast that there was no 🔥 felt. By rights, it should probably be a 4 🌶️ rating, but in my subjective opinion, a 3 🌶️ is generous.

Summing up: nice, easy low-angst story, great for some very light reading, but I found it disappointing.

This is a really REALLY cute and fluffy read. Perfect for cozy season. Get snuggled up under a warm blanket and watch Rosie fall in love with a slightly awkward orc, who wants nothing more than to win her over. Their dynamic is sweet and 🔥🔥, balanced perfectly.
This is the fourth book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

For some reason the FMC bothered me; she seemed so flighty and flip-floppy. The MMC was delicious though and I really enjoyed how protective and sweet he was 🩷

And maybe it’s just not the kinks I like, but I didn’t enjoy the spicy scenes. They felt very rushed, and again, it’s not my tastes, so it wasn’t for me.

Idk I also have a problem when men lie? Like he didn’t *really* want to invest in her business, he just wanted to f*** her, and the FMC didn’t seem the mind when she learned the truth? Like babe wake up!

So basically it’s a sweet story, and read it in an hour, not a bad way to kill some time.

Finally, we get Rosie's book! I did enjoy this book, and so far it may be tied for my favorite in the fortune records series.
First of all we LOVE and Orc x Human romance. secondly we love 2 switches getting together! Finnegan was absolutely smitten from the get go, and even though he came off REALLY strong at the begining, he definitely reels that in as the book goes, to a more normal ish level. I think Fin and Rosie complimented each other pretty well. They bounced off one another in a way that balanced out both of their personalities, bringing Fin down a little bit and warming Rosie up and breaking down her walls.

Overall I really did enjoy this book and would suggest it to someone looking for a short and sweet Orc X Human romance then I'd suggest this book! However please be advised this is book 4 in the series and I really think it's best to read them in order as other characters will pop in or be referenced, as well as plot points from earlier in the series and I think it would take away from this book if you don't understand any references. So read the first 3 books before this one 😂🩷

A cute and spicy monster/human fated mates story.
Rosie loves her little coffee shop and has built it up from nothing, whilst at her best friend’s house she meets the dashing Orc Finnegan. He instantly knows she is his mate and wants nothing more than to give her the best life. The story was well written and liked that there wasn’t any angst or will they/wont they and the spice! Loved that they both liked to switch and how Finnegan melted being Rosie’s good boy.

Super cute orc romance!

Loved this cozy love story. Both characters are fun and sweet and I love me a big ol orc who is a softie for his girl. Fin knows he found the girl of his dreams immediately and it is the cutest thing ever! Add in a scene with some toys for this big soft man and it’s *chefs kiss* for the “good boy.”

I love Finnegan and Rose's dynamic both in and out of the bedroom! Great chemistry and great writing!
