way too many plot holes in this series, by the end it wasn't even the same characters

Claiming You by Rylie Dark is book 16 in the Hailey Rock FBI series, and it’s very much in the classic thriller lane. The setup is eerie- victims found posed in prayer inside small-town churches. That mix of faith and horror gives the story a creepy, unsettling vibe that pulled me in pretty quick. The pacing is sharp — plenty of twists, and I didn’t see the killer coming. Hailey Rock herself is a solid lead. Since this is deep in a series, some of the character stuff lands harder if you’ve read the earlier books, but it still works on its own as a standalone mystery. Where it shines is the atmosphere and the tension between appearances and hidden sins. The whole “small town with secrets” thing is a tried-and-true setup, but Dark makes it feel fresh enough to keep you guessing. The one caveat is that if you’ve read a lot of thrillers, some of the tropes might feel familiar, and the focus leans more on the suspense and less on deep psychological exploration. If you’re into fast-paced, twisty thrillers with a bit of moral complexity, this one’s worth picking up. If you’re after something super character-driven or totally standalone, it might not hit as hard.

Sorry tp see this series come to an end. The author did a good job wrapping up all the loose ends while providing a new and fresh plot. This series of books was well written and hard to put down once you start reading.
